This work is such a compact masterpiece, with the second movement another emotionally charged, poignant poem, and the third movement a complex spiral of wound up energy. Boris' playing perfectly teases out the special character of each beautiful movement.
Just found this wonderful series, working through from no 1 after first discovering via the Waldstein sonata. I love the Op 10 set (as a listener, not a pianist) and it's so good to have musical insights and a player's perspective shared so eloquently and enthusiastically.
Thank you very much, Maestro Giltburg, for this great lecture and rendition of this beautiful sonata.
