If I remember correctly, Jason’s Taco-Burger-Thing was in partnership with the Jack in the Box fast food chain so all of the ingredients are from there.
I have never made my homemade pesto with nuts due to allergies, i swap it out for toasted unsalted sunflower seeds. Bunch of basil Small handful of parsley 3-4 garlic cloves 1/2 cup olive oil 1 tbsp sunflower seeds 2 tbsp parm cheese (or nutritional yeast for vegans) S & P to taste Thought id share.
Fun fact, pine nuts (despite being called nuts) are not actually nuts don't typically trigger tree nut allergies. That being said, don't experiment with your health, there is basically no research on cross-reactivity on pine nuts.
David’s dad, let your son know the problem with the monster pie is probably that he should not have used the full can. Should have used a similar amount to the sprite pie.
I misread Pesto Eggs as Presto Eggs and went “Oh God, please let it not be a microwave egg recipe.” Let me tell you, the amount of relief when I heard you say “pesto” was _indescribable_
Honestly soft drinks are already so sweet I don't think you need the extra sugar in these. Also, try sprinkling on some unflavored gelatin into the pie, then freeze it before consuming. A graham cracker crust instead of pastry would probably also help with the texture.
I'm reasonably sure it's a spinoff of an old 'water pie' recipe that's recently been revived as sprite pie, but wow, they really don't need the extra sugar.
The amount of added sugar is likely to help the otherwise 99% liquid pie set into something actually solid. Gelatin would fix that, but then you're basically just eating melted jello.

the monster pie, even if it worked, is such a waste. the pacific punch one is my 2nd favorite monster (the lemonade iced tea rehab one is the best imo lol), and like, i dont think it would ever be a good pie flavor. its much better just drunken normally (personally i mix it with sparkling water to tone down the sweetness.)

Damm it I missed it , so for me in the uk David usually uploads Friday at around midnight and I’ve been working all day on my kitchen which is getting re done so I’m exhausted but I stayed up trying to watch this and I struggled but I knew it would be worth it and I fell asleep around 2am just for it to come out at 2:15
For the monster pie, instead of cornstarch use enough gelatin to turn it into jello, and use a Graham cracker crust that has been fully cooked. Let the jello cool to room temperature, then poor into the pie and refrigerate. It MIGHT actually be good that way.
Rather than gelatine, I think pectin might be better, to make it into a jelly (jam) type thing. Put together with mini tart crusts instead of a pie crust or graham cracker crust, and you’d get something nice. It’d be a good idea for berry or citrus flavoured drinks

I use shelled sunflower seeds toasted as a sub for pine nuts to get that toasty nutty flavor and texture all the time for way less price. As long as you aren't allergic to them I'd give that a try in your next pesto.

Cooking appeals to a very general audience, and I'm going to guess David's main crew is 18-24, which includes a lot of people moving out on their own for the first time.
