I fall in your age group too, and recognize the struggle all too well :-). My own learning is that one thing is actually moving the skate in the double push pattern underneath below your body, but a completely different matter is actually putting WEIGHT into the underpush to actively generate speed.
There was a fantastic video on Viktors youtube channel featuring Joey Mantia on this specific subject. This video has unfortunately been taken down, but you can see it demonstrated briefly here as part of this video: th-cam.com/video/fPAAnP0ksIo/w-d-xo.html. The main idea here is to put weight in the underpush by distinctly moving the OTHER leg from the extended position towards the body - for starters just move the leg straight back towards the body without doing the recovery movement backwards. This weight transfer is one of the easiest ways to put weight into the underpush (“easy” is a very relative term here - I still cant do it propertly)
Also, you probably already know Joeys double push tutorial, and I especially think the point from this video about that it is not in fact two pushes, but ONE CONTINUOUS movement from setdown at the middle under the body, then under the body, and then out into the push the side is worth considering. Despite the term “double push” it is in fact not two pushes, but one continuous movement.. th-cam.com/video/55YXOkf6n8Q/w-d-xo.html
    Good luck :-)

Thanxs for your very complete reply. I indeed follow Victor, Pascal, Joey. My double push has improved since this vid and to be honest my camera work isn't the best to show that (fisheye effect and moving of camera with movement of body). At the moment I do my skating on the 400mtr Icering again so no dp there and had to adapt my ice technique somewhat back to normal skating since I didn't skate there for a year due to corona what also was the reason to pick up inline skating to a new interesting level wich implied learning to double push.
All said, I also sadly have a left leg with neurological damage, wich means I never will become as good as it could have been, but more as good as it gets...
      Thanks for watching!
