Salut, Poti curata mai bine corpul clapeta daca il demontezi --> 4 suruburi si ai acces si pe partea interioara (Atentie - a NU se deconecta electric, daca a fost deconectat tb sa faci o procedura de "invatare" a pozitiei clapetei). one tip, when key is on the ON position, someone can hold gas pedal to open throttle plate, so you can clean better. btw, why did you clean MAP sensor, is it running bad?
Thank you for the tip. I shall try it next time. I went a few days later and sprayed some more and cleaned it even better. I did the same procedure for the MAP sensor because I saw the two procedures are usually done in the same time. Also I don't think any mechanic has done it so far, ans as you could see it was full of oil traces and also very dusty inside. The sensor was not noticeable when I pulled it out first time, only after I cleaned it. The car runs very well now and hasn't showed signs of bad idle or like cough-ing when I start the cold engine and drive a short length, like before.
I'd advise against that, you don't want your fingers in there if the throttle plate gets closed by the electric motor. Some cars will open the throttle plate if you press down the pedal, some will only do it if the engine is running. Others (for example the Twingo with the D4F 75hp 16v engine) will open it if you turn on the ignition with the throttle pedal to the floor, BUT will fully close it again shortly afterwards. Before sticking your tools or fingers into any part that can move, it's always best to disconnect it. The throttle plate can be openend by hand, it does require some force because it's spring-loaded, but it's doable and safer. It's also easier to clean both sides if you take it out completely.
Recently bought some air sensor cleaner from a local store and want to clean my maf sensor on my clio mk3 and throttle body but have heard it can cause a check engine light to appear if you touch the butterfly on the throttle body, I'm going to copy what you did in the video and hope for the best, did you remove a battery terminal before doing this?
I didn't encounter this issue. The terminals of the battery were connected all the time. I never touched them, aside from cleaning them from the corrosion, while mounted.
No. You do not disconnect the battery. You need it to open the throttle. You just have to turn in the key only a half in the ignition, but not start the car, just turn the gas pump on when you hear the sound. then somebody else has to press the acceleration, with the engine not running, and the throttle will open. you cannot open it manually because it it electronic and you will force it in vane. You can actually damage the throttle if you try to open it manually.
m3rovingian well i just finished cleaning on my Modus 1.4. I took it of and clean it but didn’t disconnect the cable and open butterfly manually and clean it with Carb cleaner. So I suppose that i was lucky not damaging it. After cleaning i start the engine and it works fine. Its not in service mode (til 2.500 rpm) it has full throttle now. In the end i clear faults. Hope that was it. Thanks
@@m3rovingian Nu se curata in acest mod , se deconecteaza bateria , scoti mufa de la corp-clapeta ,o demontezi si o cureti cum trebuie , ce s-a facut in acest clip este apa de ploaie + poti strica clapeta deoarece este conectata la sistem(calculatoare) , o mica atingere si o poti strica , cat este conectata.O data scoasa clapeta trebuie reinititializata, cel mai probabil via CLIP.

Would recomend to acctually remove the throttle body as it its not hard at it wont mess the engine up as its an electric throttle body just make sure to remove the negative cable from the battery

I have serious issue with bad idle , car rpm goes up even without acceleration. The car stalls after driving few km's . And never starts. I have tried replacing Throttle body but same issue. Can you advise me. thanks
If it does like that on gasoline then go to a good car service and find a good mechanic. I had to change 4 car repair shops until I found the best on in my town. There can be so many things. Try to clean the MAP sensor also like you saw me in the video. Make sure the battery is good. But what you tell me is some serious stuff. How often do you replace the oil? Also make sure you have a new engine air filter.

Also chance the spark plugs to these ones th-cam.com/video/O6l8X1Pd8g8/w-d-xo.html Denso Irridium TT IXEH20TT. Use the best gasoline possible and use the Liqui Moly 5W40 oils, like Synthoil High Tech/Leichtlauf HT/ Molygen or 0W40 Synthoil Energy. Make sure the battery is working good and try again. Also try to warm up the engine well then use this product Protec Oxycat th-cam.com/video/gyrD5XlENRA/w-d-xo.html respect the instructions and drive the car by changing the gears from 3rd and 4th to the redline then drive it in 4th on a highway revved up to 4500-5000rpms for 30 minutes. you'll see the difference afterwards. If all this doesn't solve your problem, go to a specialized car service and diagnose the car.
You can use MAF cleaner in a MAP sensor but its a complete waste of money. A perfectly suitable MAP sensor cleaner is any contact cleaner that leaves no residue after drying, which AFAIK is all of them. If in doubt think about where the MAP sensor is placed vs the MAF sensor. MAP sensors are always exposed to engine oil particles, in the intake manifold after the throttle body, hence much more resitant to contaminants, oils and solvents. MAF sensors in the other hand are placed before the throttle body where almost no oil recirculation should reach them, these use cleaners that are much more expensive because they are designed to clean without leaving any residue and avoiding damaging the sensor wire in the MAF sensor. Frankly I think MAF sensors are the same as any good contact cleaner, but don't take my word for it.
Well the cleaners I used for each throttle and MAP sensor are the exact ones designed specifically for this use. I can tell you after each cleaning of this type my car runs smoother than before. Top that with the replacement of the engine air filter and all will be perfect.

what is the little pipes attached to the airbox just up the accelerator valve?
I don't wat to say something wrong, but I think they are the vacuum hoses, if those are the ones your refering to.

I believe so. Just try to let the cleaner do it's job without wiping it off right after as I did in the throttle

That is mass air pressure sensor. It measures pressure. Even if you put shit in it it will still work...its like a barometer in your phone....

A perfectly suitable MAP sensor cleaner is any contact cleaner that leaves no residue after drying, which AFAIK is all of them. If in doubt think about where the MAP sensor is placed vs the MAF sensor. MAP sensors are always exposed to engine oil particles, in the intake manifold after the throttle body, hence much more resitant to contaminants, oils and solvents. MAF sensors in the other hand are placed before the throttle body where almost no oil recirculation should reach them, these use cleaners that are much more expensive because they are designed to clean without leaving any residue and avoiding damaging the sensor wire in the MAF sensor. Frankly I think MAF sensors are the same as any good contact cleaner, but don't take my word for it.
Well the cleaners I used for each throttle and MAP sensor are the exact ones designed specifically for this use. I can tell you after each cleaning of this type my car runs smoother than before. Top that with the replacement of the engine air filter and all will be perfect.
