A word for the orchestra. In this prize venue, the orchestra and its sections have real presence. The work is written with a theatre orchestra in mind, it can become too symphonic, But this committed ensemble was in the hands of a master, Well done!
The look on her face and that sigh after "Some Enchanted Evening" was so adorable. But really - is there any other reaction after hearing Brian Stokes Mitchell sing that song?!?!
Hello. I need to make formal introduction. I am then, now, and always Mrs. Brian Stokes Mitchell. MELTING over him since "Jackpot"...and then he opened his mouth and SANG. DONE FOR I AM FOREVER! ♡
@@mikejaques6573 I can tell you that, when you're an actor and you're in the moment on that stage it's the most natural thing. If you don't feel love for the woman in the scene in that moment, then you're not doing it right!
Am I missing something is this verbatim from the musical?? First date man says I killed a guy but he was bad and she's cool with that then he proposes kinda??
I love Reba, but I wonder if she's ever hit a note straight on. She slides into all of them. She does this so very well, though...and he's just incredible!!
I think the sliding is essential to the Country Western style. I'm not sure it's as apt for musicals, but I love her voice, diction, and phrasing here.
Still the BEST remake of "South Pacific" ... the entire performance is magical ... and Reba is Superb ... Bart
This version made South Pacific so refreshed! I always thought it was kind of 'dated' but this version...just magnificent...I own the dvd.

Perhaps the most beautifully this iconic sing has been sung since it first was by the great and immortal Pinza...
My heart is melting omg what a voice omg this is ....... wow
I love the look on her face at the end of the song

That's cool. If I ever was married and had to kiss my female costar it would be hard. Must be.a scarey or awkward situation

what a beautiful woman :3
I know. She was 50 when she did this concert. She is glowing. So beautiful.
@@meredithchandler73 she’s gorgeous
Finally, someone has removed Mitzi Gaynor from Nellie Forbush!
What a cutie pie.
Best Nellie since Mary Martin!
Here for Brian :)
@frereuntel Did you actually see Mary Martin on stage in the part, or are you basing that on the Broadway cast album?
South Pacific 4
Infinitely better (and far more believable) than Mary Martin in the same part.
Kelli O'Hara easily tops either Mary Martin or Reba in this role.
