Lol my gt100 a 2008 model has 43k & the valve clearance is still OK, I replaced timing belts every 15k, oil changes chain & sprockets, rear tire every 2700 miles, Ducati bikes are affordable high performance.
Nothing against Lupino or Ducati, but Lupino is World Class racer , racing against national level pilot, level is already high, but Lupino and Tony are of course one step (Or two) more. Super exited to see this bike in other championship, but I think now, for Ducati , isn't such a big result.
Yes and don't forget, Mercedes-Benz also used a Desmo system system before Ducati. Your channel is of the best. Thanks for all the hard work you put into it. Many blessings for you and your family!
True however this is tech that simply cannot be matched in valve sprung engines. It not a matter of how bad do they want to beat their closest competitor it's how bad do they want to do it in each gear. That kind of tech would be almost equal to turning our 5spd trans into 10 spds with the amount they could extend rpms by. Plus added power of less power loss and massive lower friction levels.
@@alankelter9416if it were all that other brands would be designing springless poppet valvetrains. There are a few negative drawbacks and altho it may make a little more power is it as reliable as a yamaha or for the average vet rider who cannot afford teardowns and rebuilds like the factory does now. Time will tell.
@@waynegarfield6607 all true, however it's already a tested design by them it's a bleed over in tech, and all other manufacturers have been looking for spring less tech for over 30 years now. With Ducatis patent they cannot just follow the lead. Other manufactures have tried all sorts of things such as air bladders, tunneled rollers etc. none have worked out so far so yeah Ducati is really leading the edge rite now and these engines without dought will far outperform the competition tell they find a way.
Eventually, Ducati & Beta will have to come with a 250F. Triumph will have to come with their 450F. It will be interesting to see where everybody eventually ends up. A Kenny & Haiden combo on the Ducati 450 might work really well. Yeah, Kenny may not do all the outdoor events, but he will leave himself in good enough position for the SMX, plus there is the opportunity for Kenny to do WSX if it is still around. Haiden can handle the full domestic party.
Ducati World Domination ! I think these folks complaining about costs and serviceability have the cart before the horse. I expect it’s more expensive than the Japanese bikes, but not crazy high. Perhaps you prefer CF Moto ? Performance comes with a price. Ducati always delivers performance. Forza Ducati 🏁 ❤️🇮🇹🏍
I would have thought Triumph would have got top-notch guys? I would like to see a Ducati vrs Triumph. See how it stacks up? Being they are new in 2024 to the series in motocross.
I find the first part of the video pretty wrong: absolutely far from dominating, but it should be as you said, collecting data. They're winning races because Lupino and Cairoli are superior (not to take away from the other guys) in the championship, and the only rider that could challenge them, Alberto Forato, was injured (and came back to races in Ponte Egola after months of stop). Also, the race where Lupino and Cairoli dominated was a mudder on an older style italian track, with natural obstacles, going up and dowhill most of the time. In these condition, it's the rider who makes the differnce, not the bike (props to the 2 ducati to have finished the races though, very tough conditions for the machines) I dont want to take anything from Ducati's work, i'm in no position to criticize and i have no intention to do it, but there's so unnecessary hype, it's way too early to discuss ducati competitiveness, because these races are competition against themselves, not because the lack of cometition, but to make a product that can reflect the Ducati brand in the MX world

@@mrlarrybobjr i want to add that i am italian myself and i've seen the bike race, so i cheer for them to make a good and competitive product. Triumph is. Ricky and the Deegans are very very close. If Triumphs 450 (which they're developing now) is ready, which it should be, and if the money in right, I'd bet a kidney Deegan either stays with Star, or is pulled by Ricky. Deegan could obviously go anywhere, including Ducati, but as long as Rucky is with Triumph, I bet they try really really hard to get Haiden
@schocky5991 if he wins the championship this year, and next year (2025) he'll have nothing left to prove in the lites class. So, if that's the case, 2026 he moves up to the 450 class
All the 450's pack way more power than any rider can fully harness throughout a race, which is why Ducati will dominate. Europeans have always been the masters of "Hyper-Intelligent Monitoring" of their vehicles. This advanced insight lets them create superior tuning programs, allowing riders to make the most of the available power. If you watched the Washougal race, you saw KTM bikes dominating HP Hill due to their advanced torque vectoring, which smartly manages traction, throttle position, and angle. Bottom line: Ducati's tuning prowess will give skilled riders an edge and make novices feel like pros!
That tech will be hard to compete with in valve sprung engines. Dont know yet how the bikes will stack up handling wise but the engines are game changers.
My problem is that in the videos of the Desmo 450 running it doesn’t sound like it revs any higher than a normal motocross bike so the advantage of using a demo valve doesn’t make sense to me. The whole point is that it doesn’t have to worry about valve float so why not have the engine rev significantly higher than all the other motocross bikes?
