I own the kenmore and love it!! Thank you for the review it was great. Ok guys 10 months later the small hose connection from the cleaner head to the vac broke in half.....if this happens to anyone one else please don't throw it out. Call the number on the vac. They will send u a whole new vac in 10 days. Have to take a pic of the hose and a pic of the cord cut from the broken one.
I was going back and forth on vacuums for like 2 days now and you’ve helped me decide on the Kenmore. Your videos are so concise, to the point, and insightful. Love the pros and cons and even how you addressed the feedback out there in user reviews. You even taught me what to look for in vacuums - things I never would’ve considered! Curious on how the vacuum one year later? Is it still holding it's own? I've had Dyson and Shark in the past and they all seem to have issues after the 2 year mark
@@mdouglas6578 Hey there! A year later and it’s still going strong! I don’t use it frequently but when I do I’m vacuuming my entire house which takes a while and I’ve had no issues.
Thank you for reviewing this vacuum! It has everything we were looking for and your detailed coverage was really helpful. We love the easy maintenance and cleanliness of the bagged, double filtration system. And thanks for showing how powerful the suction is compared to the Shark! One thing did stand out to me once we got the vacuum. You mentioned that the cord hook is hard to turn. It seems to me that only the top cord hook is meant to swivel. Just turning the top hook allows the cord to be unraveled. And the top hook is clearly designed to swivel while the bottom hook seems to be made to stay in a fixed position. Love the channel. Keep up the great work!
Nice review! I have been considering leaving my Shark for this bagged Kenmore. I used to own a Kenmore canister and really like the idea having a bagged vacuum that is less maintenance intensive than a dust cup. I honestly hate having to wash out filters and bang them out to clear them of the dust I was trying to get rid of!
Thanks for a well done and thorough review. We bought two of these Christmas 2021 and really think at this price point it's a great value. Not the best, but suits our needs just fine. We have one dog that sheds a bit, and a cat that sheds a lot! This vacuum does a good job of animal hair pick up on our tile, hardwood, and area rugs. And it's light to carry when doing our hardwood stairs. All in all, very happy with our purchase..
Thank you for this review. I have tried shark vacuums and I think they’re fantastic. I just always wish they offered a bagged line. I really dislike the plume created when emptying canister.
This review and the 2022 year end review are what made up my mind to purchase the Kenmore. I thought about the Kenmore Elite but because I have a simple 2 bed Apartment the extra power and weight seemed unnecessary and that turned out to true. The features actually got me excited about vacuuming and I vacuumed the whole apartment..... for fun! I am at the age where my interests as a younger man are not the same. I live for comfort now and not attention. This vacuum has changed my perspective and thus changed my life in a way. Thanks Vacuum Wars!
That was a very helpful review. Thank you! My old Kenmore has died, and I'm looking at getting either a Kenmore Intuition or the Shark. I really like that the Intuition is bagged & has a touch-free release. This review has helped me make up my mind.
Hello. Great video! Are you familiar with the Kenmore Intuition bu4050? The only place it is sold is on Amazon. This makes me wonder if it is a discontinued model. On Amazon, you can scroll down to see comparisons with other vacuums including the Intuition bu4022. The difference between the 4050 and 4022 is the main roller brush. The 4050 has a hair eliminator brushroll which helps eliminate hair tangles on the roll. Do you have any information on the bu4050?
It's interesting to see Chris's take on this. I found this machine incredibly bulky loud. I see no advantage over a traditional upright or canister vacuum to this sort of design. Also the attachments falling off. Wonderful camera work and production quality as always from vacuumwars! 👍
I for one am tired of dealing with all the dust from dumping a bagless...much less the cleaning of the components that feed the bagless. I like the sound of this vacuum and my current vacuum just bit the dust...I am in the market for a new one and I think this is they one I will be getting. Thank you for the review. A 30 foot cord.. the ability to turn off the brush with a push...BONUSes.
Excellent review. I have had the BU4023 for over a year and about two months in, the motor would run, but no suction. I called Kenmore and they sent me a new head pretty quickly. My only complaint is the difficulty of cleaning the brush roller.
Love the videos and the 4K quality I love that I can watch 4K on my phone because I clicked on the quality it was on auto and I saw that it was 4K and clicked 4K and it makes it difference.
Finally, I’ve been waiting for a review on this. Looking to replace my old Kenmore bagged vacuum. I have a Dyson DC41 that I rarely use due to the bad filtration. And I just got the Shark Vertex Tru Pet. Love that but I also like having a bagged vacuum for glass and just very powdery messes.
I bought this kenmore intuition because I needed a bagged lift away type vacuum to vacuum super high areas, the couch, base boards. Just for all around the house. But carpet wise. It was terrible. At least my carpet. It’s like thick medium height. I use my kenmore elite bagged upright 31150 on my carpet and it’s perfect. It’s the only vacuum that truly has power and truly deep cleans. But the kenmore intuition is perfect for allergy sufferers who want to vacuum more stuff high and low without having to haul around a heavy upright everywhere.
Honesttly..... I don't think a lot of people realize that if you have an upright vacuum that has a hose ...you can buy one of those vacuum hose exention kits....they make many different ones. For example... the kit I got had a 12 foot hose... 2 wands... and 4 attachments... I can pop the hose off my large upright vacuum... connect the 12 foot hose to that and just clean all over the place... only have to move the vacuum a little bit here and there...I use it ALL the time and without it...I couldn't clean nearly as well
This is everything i was looking for and needed in a vacuum review. 3 cheers for comparing the kenmore intuition against the Shark! I have been searching for a bagged vacuum that is comparable to the Shark Navigator Lift-away. I wish Shark made a bagged version because I can no longer tolerate how icky it is to clean out the canister, and how it triggers my allergies whenever i clean the canister or filters. However I do Iove how well my Shark functions, and have owned the same model you used in this video for almost a decade. It still works great, and has only needed minor parts replaced over the years, but it’s time to retire it from being my primary vacuum. Looks like we’re gettin the Kenmore Intuition 👍 😎
I've seen a lot of issues with Sharks and the flexible tube going from the head to the body breaking after maybe just a year or two. This unit looks like a similar design in that area; certainly gives cause for some concern.
I've heard this too....I've seen pictures of it happening. In fact, a commenter above said that very thing happened but she called and they sent her a new vacuum.... What I find puzzling is the fact that I can't find a video on youtube at all with anyone having this issue... I mean, you'd think there would at least be one or two videos of someone showing how they repaired theirs or just showing what happened to it...
Did you get a cameraman? I noticed some sweeps and pans during this video but I may have just not noticed them in previous videos, also there was another person in one of the shots so I suspect so! Nice cinematography work mate!
Not only do bagged vacuum cleaners Filter the air better But they have proven to be far more reliable in the long run. Kenmore vacuums Have long been One of the most reliable vacuum brands by far. Especially those Versions that were designed by Panasonic. Although Panasonic no longer makes vacuum cleaners this is one of its leftovers. The company that took over Panasonic's vacuum division several years back His kept a lot of Panasonic's older designs which is a good thing. I have this intuition but I also have the kin more elite upright and canister vacs. Both have been running reliably for many years now.
If vacuums pass the fog test, with no visible fog at all, I typically don't do a dry particle test. I only do a particle test if I see visible fog. This is because it is possible for a vacuum to pass the particle test if there is minimal visible fog (less that 100 2.5 particles after three cycles) , but every vacuum that passes the fog test with no visible fog will pass the particle test without question. Basically passing the fog test is much harder than passing the particle test. Also doing particle tests basically ruins the vacuum because the dust is so fine. So I try to only use it when a vacuum claims to have good filtration but it doesn't pass the fog test.
How did it perform in terms of filtration testing? There was a quick image of testing but no words about how it fared? I had a kenmore canister for years which was a great vacuum BUT FOR the dust inside everywhere (and thus, outside, albeit less visibly so). I'm skeptical of sealed claims except where it's known to be the case, like Miele... but... I like Kenmore vacuums!
Any particulate matter test on this one? Would be really helpful to know if dust is being stirred up by the brushes! (hopefully little to none due to strong suction, but it would make for good peace of mind, since I'm strongly considering this one otherwise)
I have a Kenmore Progressive and I refuse to get rid of it but currently use a Shark Rotator lift away. I like the Progressive because it’s bagged, has better suction, has a adjustable front for different rugs and you can adjust the suction for the task at hand, i.e. lighter for drapes and lamp shades etc. But it’s big and bulky. Just saving it for my bigger house I guess.
Hi! I know this is an old video but I was wondering- I have the shark navigator and it seems like the height it is at is good for my carpet. I know neither vacuum has the height adjustment functionality. Would you say the kenmore is at about the same height as the shark? Thanks!
What one do you think is more powerful for cleaning? The Kenmore or the Shark Apec with zero M. Like getting deep into carpets? I have the Shark but thinking of going to the Kenmore I hear it more suction from the head and will get down deep better or am I wasting my money?
Hmm seems quite decent. I don't really know what I think of bagged machines really. They're good for allergy sufferers like me, but there's something that puts me off that I can't quite figure out for some reason. But thanks for the good video!
Can we use the 50688 vacuum bags with this Kenmore Intuition Upright Vacuum Cleaner? We had purchased a lot of them for a previous Kenmore that just gave up today.
I like this vacuum, but the only thing that prevented me from buying this is because it's not cordless. So I decided to just buy the Hoover ONEPWR Hepa+ cordless bagged upright vacuum instead.
I know you aren't a big fan of water filtration vacuums but I would love to see a review of the quantum x upright vacuum. They claim water is the best filtration system and I would like you you put it to the test. Thank you.
Water may be good for filtration and it certainly doesn't smell like almost any other non-water vacuum eventually will, but it turns vacuuming into a huge project. I had a rainbow with all the many attachments and finally got rid of it because it was such an ungainly contraption.
How about the key Moore bagless model what is you thought on that vs the elite im between the 2 I hate buying bags tho love bagless please let me kno your opinion
Wait wait wait.... there are people who've never used a bagged vacuum??? Only 32 but I remember when that's the only way vacuums came. Bagless was a novel concept in early 90s lol
I bought precisely ONE bagless vacuum and it was nearly worthless. Got a kenmore canister BAGGED vacuum and 15 years later I finally need to replace it.
@@JAnKl17 had the low spec kenmore bagless (the navy blue and grey) and one of the best vacuums I've purchased! Worked right until the end when the plastic became brittle. Motor outlasted the chassis!
I may go with a bagged upright vacuum. I am not an adult yet, but I’m sick and tired of getting an itchy nose every time I clean the filters on bagless vacuums, which both my grandparents and parents use. I was going to use a Bissell pet hair eraser turbo rewind, but it’s a Baglas unit. Bagged units are cheaper than bagless ones with water filtration, and I’d rather buy bags than get an itchy nose every time I have to clean the filters on bagless units. I also don’t want to have to deal with shitty cyclone units.
It resembles shark to a huge extent. Right down to being a two year disposable. Hose will definitely break. Mine did at that point. Can't be repaired, just like shark. Customer service was OK but it took 9 weeks to replace the entire base just to get a hose. I got in just a week or so before warrantee expired. Works good and then kapok, just like every other American brand. Next time I'll save up for the expansive 15 yr. German brand. It's the same as buying this one 8 times but so much less hassle of purchase and disposal 8 times. And it's repairable.
i bought one even though kenmore isnt made or owned by sears the vacuum looks good. i just hope its reliable as the old kenmore vacs that were panasonic rebrands. unfortunately panasonic is no longer in the vacuum business if they were i probably would of bought one from panasonic.
We have had our Kenmore for a few months. Enjoy it cleans very well, from floor to carpet does a great job. The bag is much better than a bag less system. I wish the power cord had a different way it was designed, nothing major it just looks like over time the connection to the unit it may separate.
Crap! Just bought a Shark. If I had seen this review beforehand, I would have tried this. I always end up cleaning out the bagless vacs more often than the old school kind with the bag. This looks very good.
I bought the Kenmore Intuition model (BU4022) at the beginning of the year and love it. However, today I decided to try the attachments and the Wand Release button seemed to jam and the Wand would not release. I called their Customer Care number but they couldn't really assist. I like the machine but this is disappointing as many of the features they promote are not available to me now.
I'm having trouble with the wand release also. Customer care said to turn vacuum upside down and 'jiggle wand until gravity releases it.' Have tried and it's not working. Help!
@@lindar6379 I finally took the time to read the instruction booklet & it turns out that in order for the Wand Release button to work you have to completely remove the power cord from the hooks before lifting up the wand (page 12). I was given the same stupid suugestion (must have spoken to the same person) when I called for assistance. Wouldn't you think Customer Service would know this. I hope this helps...mine is working fine now.
@@SMART73ER thank you! I only read the troubleshooting page. I removed the power cord and it did move a little - will keep working on this. Thank you again for your help!
@@SMART73ER Thank you again! Removing the cord and pressing the release button repeatedly helped but I still wasn't able to fully release it on my own. I finally found a neighbor who could help me and it worked. Definitely took two people to fix this in my case, but now the Kenmore is working great and so happy that I didn't have to return it, thanks to you!
I bought this vacuum in August of 2021. Love it BUT yesterday, 6/23 the hose at bottom snapped almost in 2 so no suction now. Can only get it from their customer service number. Estimated time of arrival - SEPTEMBER!!! Also, the brush roll belt broke and I'm hoping the universal one I bought from Amazon will work. Can't find the replacement hose anywhere else!!! Vacuum is nice, BUT SERVICE AFTERWARDS SUCKS!!! Do yourself a favor, GET A BACKUP!!!
I bought mine over the summer so it is like 5-6 months old. The brush sensor keeps kicking on and off during vacuuming. I am thinking it is in the handle? Iv reached out to Kenmore about the issue so far no word. Anyone have any advice?
Does anyone remember the Bissell upright lift-off vacuum? It was white and green with a full size floor nozzle. I saw on an infomercial a long time ago but that cleaner never really went anywhere? Hmmm...
There is no difference really between this and the Shark Navigator (which I also hate), except this is much heavier to push, has soft bristles, and the bag replaces the cup. My nose runs using this one even on the second floor where there is no cat litter dust. With the Shark, nose runs are limited to the cat litter area. Note they it uses 'bagless technology' (which means it blows dust out the front line a wind machine), just like my Shark. I can literally see dust and cat hair in the sun glare. So the only thing better is the disposable bag, so no dust in your face when emptying.
My vacuum bag sensor on this model has never left the first green light and I have changed the bag several times after being full. Does anyone’s actually work or is it a joke
was debating trying one of these but then i looked up parts, it is basically a shark NO PARTS EXIST! why can i get a brushroller for a bissell powerforce but not this? oh yeah...
Just an update comment Our vacuum the bag filter light doesn't work and the clogged filter light comes on even when it's not plugged we took it apart to check. The warranty is not much use because it cost more to send it in for repair than it's worth. Personally, I would not recommend this for reliability now that Kenmore is no longer a Sears product. It has some nice features but is definitely unreliable and the 5-year warranty is a joke. Though I still think bagged vacuums are the way to go just with more reliable companies such as Riccar or Simplicity though those cost a bunch more.

Water may be good for filtration and it certainly doesn't smell like almost any other non-water vacuum eventually will, but it turns vacuuming into a huge project. I had a rainbow with all the many attachments and finally got rid of it because it was such an ungainly contraption.
That water vacuum is a gimmick. You thought bagless was a pain to clean, that water system is mold factory!
I have it and I love it!
What is the noise level on the Kenmore? I have seen some complaints of a high pitched whine that is above the motor sounds.
It would be awesome if you could include the dimensions of the attachments included with vacuums that you review.
So, the roller can't be removed for cleaning?
I been waiting for months
Thank you for your review! This does indeed resemble a Shark upright!
When is Dyson going to come out with a bagged upright? I am curious.
It's not in Dyson philosophy to bring out a bagged vacuum cleaner. That will never happen. That is why Dyson started in the first place.
I was really hoping you'd show how the attachments are stored on the unit.
It would b nice if you could remove the main unit to vacuum under beds and such too.
i bought one even though kenmore isnt made or owned by sears the vacuum looks good. i just hope its reliable as the old kenmore vacs that were panasonic rebrands. unfortunately panasonic is no longer in the vacuum business if they were i probably would of bought one from panasonic.
Any plans to review the cordless hoover Onepwr HEPA bagged upright?
There is a Bagless version of this vacuum as well. And It’s cheaper than the bagged one.
How does this compare to the new hoover tempo wind tunnel?
We have had our Kenmore for a few months. Enjoy it cleans very well, from floor to carpet does a great job. The bag is much better than a bag less system. I wish the power cord had a different way it was designed, nothing major it just looks like over time the connection to the unit it may separate.
You should do the Kenmore CrossOver Max next! I am interested to see your thoughts on it.
thank you for the content
Does the intuition have a belt?
would love it if it had cord rewind
Crap! Just bought a Shark. If I had seen this review beforehand, I would have tried this. I always end up cleaning out the bagless vacs more often than the old school kind with the bag. This looks very good.
You are like encyclopedia for vaccum cleaners
Wow, thanks!
Is this model different from the Bissel BU4018?
Between this and the 4050, whicb would you choose?
I would like to know if the 4050 has the same specs too.
Please review the LG lg R975GM robot vacuum.
Glad to help...When you remove the cord & press the release button again it should come right out..
Good luck.
Great Review, thanks !!!
Thanks for watching!
We've got this in UK sold as Vacmaster Captura
I bought this vacuum in August of 2021. Love it BUT yesterday, 6/23 the hose at bottom snapped almost in 2 so no suction now. Can only get it from their customer service number. Estimated time of arrival - SEPTEMBER!!! Also, the brush roll belt broke and I'm hoping the universal one I bought from Amazon will work. Can't find the replacement hose anywhere else!!! Vacuum is nice, BUT SERVICE AFTERWARDS SUCKS!!! Do yourself a favor, GET A BACKUP!!!
is this a powered lift away?
No
Good job buddy
Thanks 👍
Do you have a link to the fog machine that you use?
is there a video how to clean bristles?
PLEASE do a review of the workhorse vacuum! PLEASE!!!
My vacuum bag sensor on this model has never left the first green light and I have changed the bag several times after being full. Does anyone’s actually work or is it a joke
was debating trying one of these but then i looked up parts, it is basically a shark NO PARTS EXIST! why can i get a brushroller for a bissell powerforce but not this? oh yeah...
i wish you review xiaomi 1c i have the robot vacuum but i dont have air flow checker
Thanks for that input.
