Zermatt amazing unforgettable experience, the Matterhorn mountain, truly a glacier paradise especially, The Juangfrau the peak of Europe, First Cliff Walk and the Hotel restaurant cafe at Grindelwald, Rottenboden, the hiking trip in the snow from Matterhorn to Zermatt, Magical Mesmerizing and Amazing must see and recommended while visiting Switzerland.
@@AplinsintheAlps absolutely, it was an exhilarating experience on Christmas eve this year which we celebrated in Zermatt hiking 🚶♀️ and exploring the Swiss Alps.
Question, i plan to camp out in grindlewald for my trip at the moment and I wanted to know what train passes would i need to have for this area if any? Also which pass would i need to travel from Zurich airport and back. I’m pulling my hair 😅
Hi Alex! If you haven't already, be sure to check out our Ultimate Guide to Swiss Train Passes, and the checklist that goes along with it: th-cam.com/video/fzuP0hMUjFk/w-d-xo.html Hope that helps!
Hi Jana & Brett, coming this Nov I will be visit zermatt for 3days and 2nights. I planing 1st day go Matterhorn glacier paradise . I’m just wonder, the Matterhorn glacier ride all the way from zermatt station to Matterhorn glacier ? during the journey, any change the gondola will passing by schwarzsee ?
Hi Joey! It depends on when you visit. During the first half of November, the gondolas to/from Schwarzsee will be closed, so you'll need to ride from Zermatt to Furi, then from Furi to Trockener Steg, and then from there to Glacier Paradise. During the second half of November, you Can ride Zermatt to Furi to Schwarzsee, to Trockener Steg, and then up to GP. Hope that helps! You can find more info on their timetable here: www.matterhornparadise.ch/ZBAG/17-PDF/flyer/flyer-winter/2024-2025/fahrplan-winter-24_25.pdf
Question. With the Glacier Trail, can you just do a small portion of it and turn around or is that not possible? I’d love to see that view you had of that small lake but don’t know if I can do 6km on such a rocky surface.
This looks amazing - if I ever go back to zermatt, I’m going up there! Brett, I hope you bought a padlock do declare your undying love for Jana 😜 Well, that’s me caught up on all your videos. Looking forward to seeing all your future videos! :)
Hi there! We like to buy our tickets before going to the station so we don't have to wait in line at the ticket counter. But there's no need to buy in advance otherwise.
Hey Jana and Brett. I would like to ask you guys fir the weather in the first week of Sept please? Its little cheap the hotel but i am just worried for the weather.
Hi there! It's impossible to know what the weather will be like because it can change from one year to the next. However, the past few years, September through the first half of October has been amazing!
Is there a place where you can rent winter gear like a coat? I'll be visiting Switzerland in the middle of summer so I don't want to bring winter gear with me, but I want to visit Matterhorn Glacier Paradise while I'm there.
If we only have one day in Zermatt, is it possible to do Glacier Paradise and Matterhorn both? If so, which order? Also, how long did it take you to hike from Trockener Steg to Schwarzee? Which mountain has the fat scooters? Thanks!
Absolutely it's possible! We just don't "recommend it" because there's so much to see along each cable car/train line that we think it's best to break the two experiences into two separate days. Be sure to check out our 3-day guide to Zermatt because it answers these and so many other questions you're likely to have as you plan. But one specific note - we do NOT at all recommend those fat scooters. We think the mountain carts from Blauherd to Sunnegga are a much better experience.
Hello Jana and Brett! Just a question. If I book online a ticket to the Glacier Paradise under the reduced category (50% discount because I have a Swiss Travel Pass), is a printed copy of the Swiss Travel Pass required when I get to the cable car station?
We mentioned in the tickets section that there is one cable car line up from the village to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. And you can buy tickets in the SBB app, or of course at the station. Hope that helps!
Thank you for this amazing videos. Travelling to Switzerland for the first time and will be in zermatt 08/19, taking train from Zurich. Is there a train station at the airport and how far is it. We only have carry on so as soon as we deplane we head down to the train station. Is the train station easy to navigate? I’m travelling with my husband who has mobility issue. Is it advisable to get a wheelchair and where should I get it from. And, should I buy the pass ahead of time . I’m still confuse about which pass to buy. Staying in jungfrau region for 4 nights and 3 nights in zermatt. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. Hoping to hear from you soon. Thank you for what you do. You guys are amazing!
We have a whole video about how to ride the trains like a pro, which includes how to get from the Zurich airport to the train station. You can watch it here! th-cam.com/video/Ugnaq5PNofU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tQPxkEMNqxJDmRk3 Unfortunately we are not familiar with mobility concerns, but you can learn more here: www.sbb.ch/en/travel-information/individual-needs/travelling-reduced-mobility.html
Well, there are only views from the cable car and viewing platform, which we tried our best to show in this video! But everything else is inside and underground, so no views there! (And we are definitely both talkers 🙃)
Show the place. Show the views. We don't want tto know the numbers and facts and all that info. We want the views. Please change that in your videos. Make then about the place.
Thanks for your feedback! It's helpful to hear what our viewers want, and many people watch our videos in order to plan their trip and find these details very valuable. But we can always show more of the views, and hope you get to see them for yourself one day too! :)

Thanks! We enjoyed making it and we're glad it's been helpful!
Very Betiful Glaciers and Mountains :) Also cool how it (has the highest movie theatre in Europe)
We thought that was pretty cool too!
Yes, we will go there in July! Thanks Jana and Brett for the video!
Awesome! So glad we could give you a sneak peek before your trip!
Gran trabajo, muy útil para planear la visita, gracias!!!👍
¡De nada!

Nice video.
I used to be in Schwarzsee back in 2001. Can not go higher because the cable ride was closed already by the time I arrived at Schwarzsee.
Oh bummer! We hope you get the chance to go back one day!!

do i need to do jungfraujoch if im going to matterhorn?
Great question! We think it’s best to just pick 1 (unless you REALLY wanna visit both). In our opinion, there’s more to see and do at Jungfraujoch.
Question. With the Glacier Trail, can you just do a small portion of it and turn around or is that not possible? I’d love to see that view you had of that small lake but don’t know if I can do 6km on such a rocky surface.
For sure you can do that! The first lake with the Matterhorn reflections is just a 5-10 minute walk from the Trockener Steg station!
This looks amazing - if I ever go back to zermatt, I’m going up there!
Brett, I hope you bought a padlock do declare your undying love for Jana 😜

Aww I’ll miss reading all of your comments as you worked through our videos. You’ve been so kind and encouraging! 😊
Going to Zermatt on 5/20-5/24. Will I be able to hike? Thanks.
Should you pre book tickets in advance?
Hi there! We like to buy our tickets before going to the station so we don't have to wait in line at the ticket counter. But there's no need to buy in advance otherwise.
Does the Swiss Travel Pass apply a discount to the Peak2Peak Pass, reducing its cost from 202 CHF to 101 CHF?
Yes, you're correct!
@@AplinsintheAlps Thanks for your inputs!
You're welcome!

which month was this? we are planning to visit Zermatt next April. Is it too cold to visit it?
Hi Amy! We were there in early August. Count on it feeling cold up there no matter when you visit and just bring appropriate layers to stay warm!!
Love your videos! So rich in valuable information! ✨
Do you guys recommend wearing an insulated jacket for Glacier Paradise in mid July?
Thanks! And yes, we definitely do! We actually filmed this in the first week of august and as you can tell, it was still cold! 😊
Is there a place where you can rent winter gear like a coat? I'll be visiting Switzerland in the middle of summer so I don't want to bring winter gear with me, but I want to visit Matterhorn Glacier Paradise while I'm there.
Unfortunately not that we're aware of. We recommend packing a lightweight down jacket because it's ultra packable in a stuff sack!

Usually yes! You will want both in case they ask. (Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t…)
We are going to be in Zermatt Switzerland next month July for 4 days. Is it cheaper to get a 3 days peak pass?
That depends on the activities you’ll be doing! Usually the Half Fare Card is a better deal, but you could price out your itinerary to decide.
It’s also helpful to show how you got there ,how you purchased the tickets?

August 2023 🙂
Thanks guys, bug fan from India, love your insights on Swiss travel. Thanks for everything that you do!!!
Thank you for the encouragement!
So, we can take a cable car to Italy??
Yep, that's possible from Glacier Paradise!
Can we travel up to the Matterhorn glacier paradise with my 7 months pregnant wife?
You’ll want to ask your doctor! When Jana was pregnant, her doctor recommended not going that high in elevation.
guys have done a vid for Titlis?
Not yet! But it’s on our list for this summer 👍
If you could only pick one between Gornergrat or Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, which would you choose?!
Gornergrat!
I was hoping to see more mountains and panoramic views and less bragging people
