The reason behind the OBC politics is to fight against the idea of caste census and subsequent politics based on reservation. We already have enough reservations in the name of caste. Better to rationalize it rather than mindlessly increasing it to kill meritocracy. ( I am saying this as an OBC candidate myself who would be benefitted if the reservation is extended to 75 percent)
The opposition parties want to divide the Hindu vote bank as most of it got consolidated under Modi regime (Infighting based on the caste used to be biggest weapon among political parties to divide people on the lines of caste)
And coming to the debate on the costly clothes Mr. Modi is wearing, it has a sybolic effect which makes a lot of difference on the international stage. The PM of India represents the collective might of the entire nation.
BTW, Modi is already winning the 2024 election even before the survey. (India Today survey was revised just to account for the increased mood shift of the nation)
It is easy to discredit his electoral success when you are blinded with your own biases, but I have personally seen the transition in the North India ever since he came to the power. So yeah, his success transcends these petty Hindu Muslim politics.
The biggest weapon Modi has is not the ideology of Ram or the Hindu muslim distrust.
It is the incompetence of the opposition which failed to exploit his weaknesses.
Let me tell you why BJP is winning and congress is on a steady decline

Over 13000 Jan Aushadi Kendras for delivering generic medicines at affordable prices for poor people
Over 2 billion free vaccines for covid
Schemes for eliminating TB and Malaria by 2025. Outperforming the WHO deadlines
Free ration for rural and urban poor under PM Graib Kalyan Yojana
82% rise in medical colleges from 387 before 2014 to 704 in 2023
Increase of 110% in MBBS seats from 51,348 before 2014 to 1,07,948 now

Well, coming to the problem of power cuts (You have to blame the opposition parties which is distributing free power, pushing the DISCOMS into perennial losses)

(Now, you may argue the high fuel costs under BJP, but unlike the previous regime they are not providing subsidies by purchasing oil bonds for billons of USD just to win the elections. I still see it as a part of pursuing fiscal discipline rather than putting the lives of future generations at stake just to woo the voters for political mileage.)
Free crop insurance schemes
Direct benefit transfer to Farmers for their contingency through PM KISAM scheme
Over 10,000 FPOs were created to encourage co-overative farming
Tried to create a unified market for farm produce through the farm laws but the lobbying middle men vilified them completely. So, they had to take them back
Smart city mission to improve the city infrastructure and creation of common space for public and ensuring better governance and grievance redressal
They ensured financial inclusion by providing over 450 million zero balance accounts that helped them receive subsidies and financial aid through Direct benefit transfer which removed the middle men. ( under the previous govt, a major chunk, in the words of their ex PM, almost 90 percent of the funds didn't reach the last mile)
Digital India mission was a huge success. India is now a FinTech superpower
Internet connectivity to every panchayat through Bharat Net scheme
From being an importer of Telecom infrastructure and mobiles to exporting them
They are modernizing Railways, revamping the age old ICF coaches with safer LHB coaches.
They built 2 dedicated freight corridors with a total track length of over 3500 km
They achieved over 90 percent electrification of Railways from a mere . ( over 40,000 km electfried in the last 9 years vs 20,000 km in the last 65 years)
Revamping over 1300 railway stations
Over 400 Vande bharat express trains for better passenger experience ( Targetting the middle classs)
Planning to launch over 1000 NaMo bharat express trains (for the lower income groups)
Kisan Rails for Farmers to enable easier transit to the market places
Improved the port infrastructure through SAGARMALA. Doubled the tonnage capacity and reduced the turn around time by 50 percent. They are also building Logistic hubs to rationalize the logistic costs.
They kept the inflation under check ( less than 6 percent vs double digit inflation under the previous regime).
Despite global slowdown, India continues to grow at a decent rate. (unlike UPA-1 which reaped benefits of the Shining India campaign and high growth rates around the globle, BJP had to inherit a broken economy and a broken banking system with twin balance sheet problems). From being one of the Fragile 5 countries to a shining star amidst global slow down. They also managed to turn around the fate of Banking and telecom industries.
PLI schemes are a huge success story. Targeting over 14 priority sectors in tune with the vision of Make in India.
Single window clearance system. (helped us bolster over ratings under World Bank's Ease of Doing businesss)
From 81st rank to 40th under Global Innovation index
And a ton of schemes for going Green in line with climate action goals. (India is among the front runners when it comes to most of the NDCs)
I guess, I dont even have to start with what Modi achieved for India at the world stage.
Well, the list is a lot more than this but I hope this gives you a glimpse of what they achieved in the last 9 years.
People are not fools to blindly support a party.
And they are not just banking on the Ram Madir issue or the Abrogation of Article 370 which was deemed impossible.
BjP is definitely a polarizing party, but they are better administrators than the clowns we have in the opposition.
