Studios used to lease out their IPs to other studios in order to fill the gap between major releases all the time. Arkham Origins only exist because it was going to take Rocksteady too long to complete Arkham Knight. New Vegas was there to fill the gap between Fallout 3 and 4. Getting another studio to make a Fallout game should have been one of Microsoft's first orders of business after acquiring Bethesda. They're fools if they still haven't done that. Even if it's just a remake of one of the previous entries. Pretty sure the main idea behind doing a Fallout show was to keep the IP in people's minds, but hopefully thats not all they're doing.

@@k--musicI think it’s gonna be over a decade before streaming is even remotely close to being actually viable, and I really think Xbox is going to end up tanking itself with game pass, the model makes absolutely no sense with how expensive games are to produce, and how many full price copies of a game have to be sold just to break even. Just going down the list of PlayStation consoles and some of the groundbreaking games that shipped on them you can see how stagnant this gen has been
PS1-Metal Gear Solid arguably pioneered the cinemazation of games.
PS2-San Andreas, but really any one of the gta trilogy revolutionized open world games. Leading to a whole genre of gta clones
PS3- Call of Duty and the rise of multiplayer. (Yes I know halo but I’m talking about PlayStations for timeline sake)
PS4-Fortnite and the rise of the games as a service model; which many people including myself don’t like as it’s ruined a very large portion of the industry. I believe it’s the only game that’s actually managed to do it right, and I begrudgingly give it props for that.
PS5- Not really anything that couldn’t be done on last gen if you really wanted it to, all we really got was no load screens and ray tracing, and ray tracing can’t even be fully implemented without halving the frame rate of the game you’re playing, arguably making it a worse experience.
The audacity to be making Pro model revisions of consoles most people didn’t get their hands on till like a year and a half ago, while only having a small handful of actual next gen titles. It feels like getting sold the One X and 4 Pro while only having Ryse son of Rome and killzone shadow fall to play.

I like cyberpunk more. But the witcher is an objectively better. Better story. Character, music, gameplay, scripting, quest design. Beyond all that there is the dlcs. Omg those dlcs are games in their own right.

Why does everyone keep saying ES6 is coming in 2026. Think about it if it would initially take them 4 years for a release and it took them 7 years for Starfield.. how are we getting es6 just 3 years after their last game. At least you have to add 6 years for development if not 7 or 8. I think it comes out in 2029 -2031 for elder scrolls 6
Late 2026-early 2027.
Starfield was held back because they were actively working on things like FO76, all the while when Starfield first hit the table. Their actual developments were overlapping with their cash grabs. As long as they don't pause to remake Skyrim again 2026 is reasonable, especially since Xbox CEO gave the window of 2025.

I think we'll see the next Witcher game before most people expect. Not having to develop the Red Engine and switching development methods from waterfall to agile as well as having the assistance of Epic might actually mean we'll see it sooner than expected. I'm not saying a lot sooner, but sooner. Plus CDPR seems like one of the only studios growing right now. However, CDPR isn't going to publicly put a timeframe on it and box themselves in to where they have to announce a delay if they need more time.
They must create all assets and all work flows from botton again. They even only train in UE 5 atm, they arent in production, only pre-production. They assume at the moment to start the game in summer or even later. So the game will have a dev time from ~5y or longer. Eventually we will see a EA bc they saw the success from BG3 with it.

Like I said, I don't think we'll see their next game a lot sooner, than most people expect, but I do think people will be surprised to see it when we do. Based on the development window of Cyberpunk I think people probably think we won't see the next Witcher game until 2030. I think we'll probably see it at the end of 2028. Learning the new engine will slow things down at first, but switching from Waterfall development to Agile will speed up the development process once they're in full production. Also, it's not like everyone now working on the Witcher game are the same people that have only been working on RED Engine. They've had turnover and hired new people. No doubt any new hires they're making are people with experience using Unreal Engine considering they made that decision a few years ago.
Unreal has an insane procedural landscape generation. If you had 20 people using that and then after adding the human touch they could literally make the map In 3 months💀

Elder scrolls should be given to larian. The lore is so deep and is so dear to me I don't want to see it die. Someone needs to pick up the torch because there's so much that can still be done with the weird universe that they created.
I remember that cinematic for elder scrolls and yes it does make me feel old. When I think about the meme I laughed at shared with my buddies which was of the Elder Scrolls logo overlooking the mountain with writing underneath saying “12 Reasons Why”… it makes me realize how loooong it’s been. I never hear of or think of that show, 13 Reasons Why, anymore.
If it is an UE5 game, and almost no UE5 game runs well on current gen consoles, I don't think they would want another Cyberpunk, like you said. So yeah, I highly doubt this will come during this generation.
I'm happy they are taking their time with this game. I'm hyped too.

The only thing I want form TES6 is for it to be a Singular Hand Made Open World Map..., get rid of the loading screens and procedurally generated terrains..., just focus on all the quests (main storyline, side quests: blades, bards college, thieves guild, the companions, mage guild, dark brotherhood, imperial and opposing armies, Daedra quests, random NPC encounters and stories, quests similar to the balck book ones ect...) that's what made Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim special, the lore of the Elder Scrolls Universe... I mean even Skyrim's combat was pretty meh in fuckin 2011... but nobody cared because when you start a new playthrough of any of those games you get sucked into the world with the music and the ambiance and you lose track of time.
They just need to make sure that all other activities in the world like the bandit camps, forts, caves... ect. don't get too repetitive with identical NPCs and layouts of the camps and shit. I dont even care if the HUD pause screens, and inventory UI is meh cause the modding community will fix that and make it better in literal days after the release...
I just want a new world, new quest lines, great dialog and an amazing hand made map.

Breakpoint was a pretty big miss, and they must be hurting in order to pull the "AC Japan" button. That shit was in glass behind "Break in Case of Emergency."

While I agree Kojima has gotten crazier storywise I think one thing Luke wasn’t alive for was those earlier titles when they came out and did actually break boundaries. Yes his new stuff does get a bit nuts in terms of story but when he gets together with Shoji is where the magic happens.
I think as a game i like the concept and the world slightly more in cyberpunk. Its more my thing. But i deffo enjoyed witcher 3 more as a game. Think uve come to the conclusion im way more of a 3rd person gamer, its engrosses me more seeing my character, it also makes me want to make my character exactly how i want an dthink more about it when its 3rd person

I think the 'Physint' Kojima game will be more in line with Remedy Studios game formula of blended live action sequences with traditional gameplay. Alan Wake 2 is a highly underrated game of this generation in terms of popularity. It got good reviews but no one really talks about it much, but Sam Lake and Neil Druckman were just visiting Kojima so I think he wants a "Cinematic Game" in the tone and style of those two creative leads. Now I know some people hate Neil and some people don't care about Alan Wake or Control from Remedy but I imagine that is the design philosophy, because to be honest how do you even make a stealth game with no gameplay? I think you were a tad harsh. Though Death Stranding was a crazy batshit experience I might be in the minority that found the game itself rewarding and interesting. But obviously a lot of people disagree.

At this point anyone that remembers the game will be at least 35-40yo when/if 2 drops.
It was more of a cult hit than massive commercial hit anyway. The reasoning for 2 to take this long boggles the mind...but it may be BECAUSE it's not seen as a commercial powerhouse. Maybe development has been trickled money and time over the years rather than given steady flows of each? Seems clear at this point.

Cyberpunk had the single most potential out of any game ever. I liked the game very much and enjoyed it, but it lacked too many immersive features and dynamic quests and city depth. It needed more years in the oven. We expected every single back alley to be crammed with content, but it wasn’t like that. As much as I adore the design of Night City, you cannot really get lost in it, you do quests from the journal 99% of the time.
I like disappointing myself all along the way, SO, I’m pretty sure - my senses are tingling for a surprise release of WITCHER 4 in September 2024!!!!!! THIS YEAR BABAYYYYY!!!!

I don't get this argument that modders aren't doing anything with Starfield. Because in real life right now you can go to Nexus mods and you can see the dates in which mods are published. And people are still currently making mods for Starfield. So I just don't understand this argument. And it's pretty obvious once official mod support drops the number of mods are going to increase.

The only true next gen (current gen) experience we will witness this gen will be gta6 and maybe death stranding 2. Other than those two games everything else has basically just been ps4 games with ray tracing and 60fps modes. I haven’t seen one game thats had me like “wow this is a game that I know could never run on the ps4”.

I acknowledge that maybe the Creation Engine is bad for space games, but for Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, the game engine was not the reason why they both fell flat for me. Fallout 4's DLC FAR Harbor is proof of that. Fallout 4 base game's problem was the writing and story.
And for Fallout 76, bugs aside (because they fixed those by now), the problems were that there were no NPCs (there is now), and it was always online with no modding potential.
They can take as long as they want with Witcher 4. I already know that game is winning GOTY whenever it releases.
All speculations & brain storms aside there is a big chance of releasing an undercooked game even with delays until 2030!
The Witcher is my favorite because I'm more fantasy-driven. Cyberpunk is only behind for that reason. They are my #1 and #2 games.
Right now no one is capable of what Larian can do. Swen keeps all of his people who not only love what they make but are masters in crafting it. It would take a few games' worth of craft to bring any other team up to where Larian is at in making CRPGs.
I am very much in the non-Kojima club. No hate at all but it is not my jam even a little bit.
The smart play to end crunch and keep dev speed reasonable is what CDPR is doing. Studios in more than one location working on the same project to put more hours per day on a project without crushing developers.
Everybody is talking about the next Xbox, its not sure there will be still Console manufaturers. I vote for a full in publishers. You cant sell, contrary to what people at XBox think, without exclusive strong games. They said that because they re unable to dev such games; its a façade. But there re no shortcuts to success, as Sony or Nintendo.

Hard to give a static vote like that because i think cyberpunk world is better but witcher 3 the game is better. If we had better main character who could view themselves properly and the game fully supported third person etc. then yeah. Ill be honest the witcher never grabbed me. But something about CP2077 did. Im not sure what but it really did.
There's just so many dominoes lined up for Nintendo to make a killing. If they drop the successor to the Switch while these consoles are current, it's going to put the diminishing returns of graphical fidelity in very harsh relief. I'd much rather play Ghost of Tsushima on a PS4-level handheld than Rise of the Ronin on a PS5.
Games take like 2x-4x longer to make than like 15 years ago, but one console generation is still about 7-8 years as they have been before. That's why current gen feels so empty.
The worst part is that there's no legitimate reason for it to take so much longer now.
@@fffx2yes there is. Budgets and production has inflated. They’re trying to go the Hollywood route by trying to make every game a blockbuster. But with that much money in a game it destroys creativity because they don’t want to take any risks in fear of losing out on money.

Of course you're not seeing sequels. Companies are spending more time milking remakes/remasters and live service fails than actually developing new games.

Being age 9 and 26 between arguably the greatest game series in history is beyond and almost seem like you don’t care about your fans.
Man, that's hard for me to choose which I like more. Both The Witcher 3 and cyberpunk 2077 are literally my favorite games. Probably ever. If I had to pick one I have to give it to witcher ONLY because it has the option between 1st and 3rd person.

Whenever these games do come out you have to add 2 years for patches and DLC to get released before its worth playing. Prices will drop from peak $70-120 down 20-80% off when its fully released. Not interested in playing the worst state of the game for peak prices. I have thousands of hours of backlog to get through. I can wait.

@@lewissharpe46951. Delaying games are kind of BS on top of overpriced tags & micro transactions. 2. All these shit shows are coming from world financial bad situations & game developers competitions which I do believe will rapidly change from this year 3. Cd project red always crying about their terrible game engine & need to rebuild or improve them before even polishing the game but now they have the powerful unreal engine. So no more delays because of the bad engine & you're born yesterday if you think they haven't started Witcher 4 long before the first announcement
