My second Springer is 5 now, and he's an absolute Mama's boy. My first one was a female and when she passed, I was devastated. Took me 17 years to get another dog. What a breed. My boy loves to dig, but what he really loves is slobbering water from the water bowl all over the place! Just fantastic dogs. The best.
Thank you, only someone who has springers know there are no words to describe the love and affection a springer can give. I have 5 and each has their own distinct personality.
Hi, very sorry to hear that you lost your boy. Owning a dog which has become such a close partner is always a difficult time. Hopefully you have many wonderful memories of the two of you. I have had many dogs in my lifetime and loosing them is never easy, but the memories make up for the loss. Stay strong.
I loved my springer she was an excellent family dog not to mention a hunting machine who always gave it her all. I’d go out to the field and she would wait for my command “go kill for me” and then it was off to the races.
great example so like my Lola she loves the ball and retrieving papers ect and he cuddles wit mom in the evening oh and watches the TV especially when there are animals on it she goes crazy
I love Springers. Of course I had the tail docked, and her lips. If I may be so bold as to inform you that Tells tail is docked too short sir. Tells tail is about quarter length - it should be half. I share this info with respect. Many thanks, Dave
Some would view this video as a warning. They are work like smart creative children but massively trainable. Which is exactly why I love them so. I have had many kinds of dogs but the most relational by far are my Springers. I love my children even when they have muddy boots.
Hi, I really can't see that anyone would consider this video to be a warning to owning a springer. All I was showing was Tilly just being Tilly. She is a wonderful dog and family pet.
So do I.........should be getting an other one soon. Stella Peter's bitch was bread last week so hopefully she will be having them around the end of March. Watch my channel for regular updates on the pups.
I love Springers . Indie is my her, She's 2 in March. Unfortunately with work we've only made it out once this year. I got a nice Mallard drake it was her first retrieve , not great but we got there in the end. Great videos
i just got a ruby cocker who has green eyes his already a lively one at 4 months :) apparently their rare i did not know starting to watch everything spaniel now ;D
I was asked *When do they calm down* by the owner of a young springer....Replay *THEY DON'T * ;)) ......They get under your skin, and they love to snuggle
@notinselfies9369 Thanks!...also, is their recall ok? I often hear that they won't come back when called? Lastly , are they calm in the house? Thank you
Do springer spaniel pups ever stop being annoying? Don’t want anyone to take offence to the word annoying but…I have a 6 nearly 7month old springer and she won’t stop drinking dirty road side water no matter what - she always has clean water available and I can’t get her to stop! I’m worried she might get really sick
Hi Sophia, very sorry to hear of your problems. I think that the best option is to return to lead work. Keep her on a short lead and keep her head up. Once you are walking nicely at heel with a nice loose lead if she tries to drop her head to drink dirty water give a tug on the lead and tell her to " leave it ". This may take a few goes to brake the habit but don't despair.
These are working Springers and it is done to save the dog from serious injury when in the field. Believe me I have seen a springer get caught up by its tail, the poor dog was howling like a banshee and was covered in blood. Pup's are docked at around 1day old and experience no pain or distress.
Hi, no....we can't shoot around the coast line. We live on Guernsey a small island so not possible for wild fowling. Would love to have a go though with Tilly.
Complete nut job dogs. I have 7 working springers and a Patterdale Terrier. Sadly 2 of my dogs are retired from working (although they'd say otherwise as they're still raring to go). Most of them are nosy buggers who want to know what you are doing and like to "help". They crack me up and I wouldn't have any other breed for working.
Hi Alexandre, many thanks for your comment. Springers are great all round working dogs 🐕. I can't begin to believe what it must be like to have 7 Springers and your Patterdale. Thanks for watching my videos.

Loved your video, they really are the BEST dogs in the world 🥰
I miss my Springer, I lost him just barely over a year ago! He took my heart with him when he went!

Wonderful comment ❤❤❤❤
We had a springer when I was very young, I thought he was the cutest and funniest dog ever.
I know all of those moves. All three of mine do the exact same things. What I love most about this breed is their tail... it never stops wagging..
Best dogs in the world...
Aww, how cute . Wish you and your dogs will always happy. Have a good day my friend!!!
Many thanks
Loved it and can relate. Smart dogs and so affectionate!!! Have subscribed and can't wait to show hubby later on.
Thanks for subscribing, welcome to the channel.

I have a Springer for 3 months now, it is sooo much fun !!!
Wishing you would do a video on how you trained your springer to the whistle. Thank you for the happy video❤
Hi Katie, ok will do.

The box with 48 tennis balls arived today, she took them all out :)

mine didn't stop till he had cancer on his death bed. he was playing ball till 8+ years old. it was his game.
Do springers really need the crazy amounts of exercise i keep hearing? Would a run in the park plus a good road walk be enough during the week?
The good run & a walk in the park would be enough plus hanging out close to the family.
@notinselfies9369 Thanks!...also, is their recall ok? I often hear that they won't come back when called? Lastly , are they calm in the house?
Thank you
My one would run for a mile into the forest and be completely hidden the entire walk but she always came back somehow lol
Took her about ten years to be the perfect behaved dog but then she wasn't really trained properly 😭😭
@@simonpage6549Mine is 15 weeks and the few times I've dropped the lead he comes straight back. Very clingy dogs so shouldn't run off.

why tail dock?

Have you done any waterfowl hunting with your springer?
