Now, usually, unless you program a computer to identify Sporks as something different from Spoons and Forks, then chances are they won't really be able to figure out that it's not an "either or" situation.
At some point something caused a programming error causing him to be self aware, in the movie when he gets a new motherboard he reverts back to his programming

Servers for Final Fantasy 11 Online weren't shutdown til March 31, 2016. The PS2 was amazing despite having weaker hardware then the XBOX and Gamecube.
