I know, and I loved Cliff's game! I wanted him or Nicole to win and honestly, he just suddenly lost his mind and trusted Jackson, ruining his game and Nicole's. What a terrible move.
If Cliff didn’t sway Nicole to keep Holly, he would’ve played one of the better games in seasons. But one blunder really derailed his game and how he’s viewed by fans.

Nicole was my favorite player this season and, like you, she was the main reason I wanted to keep watching. I'm disappointed she didn't win, but she did deserve America's favorite so I'm glad she won that.

I hope you aren't talking about the "bullying" incident, because everyone already knew that. The only reason that meeting took place was so that they could cover their asses. The six shooters couldn't risk pissing off Nick and Bella, and then having someone being put up. And Nick and Bella couldn't risk "loosing" the six shooters. Everyone, except Bella knew that the entire meeting was BS.

Nicole was always a subpar player. Not really all-star material at all. Nicole fans just can’t admit she sucks-if she really wanted to she could’ve convinced cliff to flip but she was too wishy washy.
Razar Lamps I think it was a 50/50 move imo. If Tommy got into the final 2 he would have won against anybody except for maybe Nicole and I think he would still beat her. But voting out Holly would have been Cliff and Nicole’s best shot at winning it’s unfortunate that’s how both their games were ruined after final 4

Kaitlyn Bannon right, and it’s not like production definitely doesn’t plan out the expenses, blueprints and ideas for competitions weeks-months in advance. They all just collectively sit on their Jackson michie bean bag chairs sipping out of their Jackson michie mugs and vote on a good competition for him the night before
Best part of this season is that the jury voted based off of the game and not being butt hurt. Thank God.

That is only because of who was at the end with Jackson. The jury say Tommy, Cliff, Christie, and maybe even Nicole beat him, so he would have lost to a bitter jury had he taken anyone else.
19 was a bunch of whiny losers. Hated that season, even though I'm now friends with Mark
Nah. That makes for more interesting storylines, and honestly jury management is part of the game. Also that's what made Michie win, so I don't like it.
I stopped watching the show after Kemi got evicted but I kept up with the show on twitter to make sure my girl Nicole was doin good lmao
edit: i agree kemi is a terrible player and no, she was not my favorite to win. around the time she got evicted, the amount of bullying that took place was disgusting. “Gr8ful” made the entire show insufferable, so i stopped watching.

Honestly that argument between Tommy and Michie broke my heart. I didn't really like Jackson's personality all too much but him doing that to Tommy was especially hard to watch, seeing Tommy cry and yell like that as of he was completely powerless. Then seeing Michie cry for doing it later on was equally as upsetting because first it was the first time he cried or showed any heart and you can just tell it was eating him up inside

@@ratchetaxe5875 Seriously, have you not watched the live feeds? They literally cover up 70% of the entire show. Throughout the whole pre-jury, the whole season was based on a bunch of clowns, rats, and bullies.
If the show included at least some of the early gross bullying & racially biased play, the casuals would have understood the pre-jurors' conversation. Julie brought up a little in her interviews, but even then, they didn't air enough for context. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS, especially this one for your Nicole devotion.

Nick Brock yikes. I’m glad I didn’t watch. It’s so hard to watch people get bullied and targeted because of their race. It’s no longer game play it’s just personal and gross. Thanks for the heads up.
The first couple weeks were T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E. The perverted behavior of BB9, the derogatory behavior of BB15, and the mob mentality behavior of BB19 all combined into one gigantic mess. After that though, it did get better. The changing alliances, uncertain votes, and fights helped. Also, much like BB20, I’ll give credit that a good number of DR’s this season felt authentic. Sure, we had some of the typical, “This challenge is A LOT harder than it looks…” and people yelling, but there were times where you could tell it was people just genuinely talking. Do I still think this is a bottom tier season? Yes, the horrible beginning and flat ending hurt it too much, the bad behavior from a number of houseguests can’t be ignored, the twists added nothing, and the fact that ‘have nots’ were scrapped after two weeks and nothing replaced it is ridiculous (and the less said about one houseguest cheating as a ‘have not’ and receiving no punishment, despite him denying he ever cheated in post-show interviews, the better). In all fairness, it’s definitely not in my bottom three. Despite being an unpleasant combination of them at the beginning, BB9, BB15, and BB19 are still easily the three worst seasons for me.
Agreed, I think this season got so much hate at the start that people kept the mindset that it was awful throughout the entire game, even though there was some solid gameplay coming down the stretch

@Dan Chai Mocha Paul was great in his first season and completely punchable his second. Jack could never command that kind of loyalty.
Paul is one of the best BB players of all time, Jack is merely a footnote. (I feel guilty mentioning the in the same sentence from a game player perspective)
BS. Paul's cult tried to trigger someone's assumed PTSD; meanwhile, Gr8ful was merely covering their asses with an alliance meeting. One was game albeit of the lowest type, the other one was malicious.
BB19 and 21 I think are the only ones that I’m not going to be rewatching in the future, I’ve even rewatched 15 lmao.
Joshua G 15 was a perfect season in a gameplay perspective. so exciting from the beginning to final 6
-15 had good gameplay but horrible personalities
-19 was bad on a gameplay level and a personality level
-21 was mediocre in gameplay, but had bad personalities

The only comp I would really want them to keep is Hide and Go Veto. I’d also want to see Otev as a host again, but for a different comp. I switched who I was rooting through a lot, but I’m happy with Michie winning in the end.

This season wasn't as bad as I thought that it was gonna be, but being straight-up, I really didn't like it overall.
All of the great gameplay in the world couldn't save this season from it's God-awful casting, and though I also love Nicole, when the entire quality of a season hinges off of one or two players, you've already lost it at that.
Great review though, and good on you for being so forgiving. I, especially given the ending, just can't bring myself to feel the same way.

I honestly don't think this season will be remembered with any reverence, and it feels to me like the post jury only felt so strong because it was refreshing to be out of that hellish pre-jury phase. While it may be an unfair comparison to make, even the most impressive moves and most complex strategic decisions from BB21 were at best on par with middling analogues from a season like BB14. I think a lot of that is derived from a cast that was severely reticent to engage with the very core of the game- often citing "playing too hard" as a rationale for wanting to evict a particular person, and with over half of the cast never making an impactful individual decision that left any impression of note. The constant repetition of the phrase "doing what's best for MY game" started to ring hollow almost instantly, and by the end merely felt like a deflection of an inability to make the smarter but more difficult decision.
The casting an production teams need to do everything in their power to try to ensure that the next batch of contestants demonstrably have the basic strategic sense and sufficient gameplay instincts to take initiative and break the mold for themselves when it is in their best interests to have it broken. And more importantly, can they please PLEASE stop the contestants from making shoutouts when making eviction votes? It is the most dramatic and important part of the show, and if the players can't be bothered to act like it matters, why should we? Nothing undermines the tone more than every single cast member placing more focus on saying hi to their friends than removing someone from the game.

i was watching some of the behind the scene youtube videos and mechie was talking to kat about jessica and he said that jessica should go back to mexico and go play in the street so he lied to live national television about being sexist and racist so i do not think mechie should’ve won

I think that the main problem with the BB USA is that the pubblic has literally 0 power, in most of European's versions the contestants votes every week for who they want out and the ones who recive most votes goes to televote, we choose who send home between them (and we also choose the winner)

I believe whether Jack and Mickey were racist or not that it definitely wasn’t right for them to be interrogated live like that on two separate occasions. Something that definitely does deserves attention though is the bullying we’ve seen in the house, recent examples besides this season being BB 19. For goodness sake Meghan left on Day 8 due to a miscommunication and what followed shortly after with Jessica and Cody was truly horrific.
I'm proud of Nicole A. for being the shining light of BB21, but after all the stuff that happened in 21, she should have not come back for 22. She went through too much and didn't trust anyone because she couldn't in her first season and didn't know how to play this game with an alliance.

The fact everybody knew who was working together the entire season was extremely upsetting. I feel like there was little actual strategy going on during the game, it was more just personal until Jackson started picking off players. No puppet masters, everything was very surface level, unlike anything with Dan/Derrick's play or even Tyler from BB20.
I'd like to add, I feel Jackson was ambushed at the end with the racist accusations - I do feel Jack/Christie/Cliff made such comments, but Jackson essentially got looped in because he chose the first 4 who were banished?
I slightly agree with you about the too many twists. I feel as if big brother does too many of these and some of them are pretty useless. On the other hand, I do not think that they should be cut out completely because it keeps us and our toes and as they say, expect the unexpected.
I disagree with you when you speak about there being too many jurors. I feel like they all add something to the season and they are kept up to date at the jury house. Most times from an outsiders perspective it may seem clearer what was going on in the house and who truly deserves to win as opposed to other jurors who may just act on feelings. What I would like to see more of though is the finale interview. I feel as if the interview was cut short because they were running out of time but there was so much drama in the house that more time should have been alotted to that. For example, I wanted to hear more from Nick and Bella. But I agree with everything else on this video.

Nicole is the only reason and joy that alot of people stuck with bb21. Overall I'm happy the season is over, I think your right with this being the wrost pre jury and Ha8ful being the most hated allience. I also think Jackson might be the most hated winner idk yet and I wish production won't cast any more love island rejects. Love Nicole, Love Kathryn and Jessica have us moments from her amazing HoH to her look in the mirror on day 44 and even her hilarious scream

I haven't watched this season but I did rewatch the reading of the Jury votes like a 100 times. It's hilarious. It's like the producers felt like it's time for some justice and were like "Well... we can at least make sure his win will be the least joyful win in BB history."
Haven't even watched the whole video yet, but that throwback BB intro was great and hit me right in the nostalgia.

Once Jury started, this season became great. It was interesting seeing Nick be able to go under the radar when he was the biggest target at one point. Also, seeing Christie AND Jackson surviving for so long even though they were primary targets for most of the season.
It just sucks that we learned how terrible they were when they were Gr8ful. Really made it hard to root for their moves and root for them in general.
Big Brother usually does well in doing 90-minute finales but I think expanding it to a 2-hour live episode would be most beneficial to get the breathing room we needed after a 90+-day season
I would also suggest the show ditching their pre-finale recap episode in favor of having the show cover Parts 1 and 2 of the final head of household competition on their Sunday show. Big Brother Australia and UK's finale night are always loaded, covering the actual last week of their respective seasons.
I also feel very satisfied seeing Jackson getting his just desserts on live television. As much a he played a good game, it's been tainted with that bad prejury mojo that I find it hard to root for a player like him to do well, or much less respect his game over-all. Gr8ful turning each other made the half-season at the very least BB20-levels of exciting, the dislike to any members there was all I was feeling.
Jackson not relishing his win gave BB21's closure the dignity it needed.
It’s like they casted the Least likable people and then huddled up half way through the season and said you know what let’s help the least likable person on this cast get all the way to the end with the most (sorry cliff and Jess ) clueless houseguest then at the very end have Julie belittle the group in an attempt to salvage the fleeting fan base
I completely agree with the finale. With the discussions, they need to stop rushing everything all the time. And THANK YOU where was all this calling out on Big Brother 15. I get it that Aaryn got called out but Amanda, Spencer, Gina Marie, soo much more houseguest needed the same treatment and the discussion needed to be way longer. That season was way worse with their behavior.
My mother and I have been huge die-hard Big Brother fans since season 1. We also live in Dallas and have AT&T U-Verse, which was one of the major markets that lost CBS for a few weeks earlier in the summer so we obviously didn't see several weeks of Big Brother 21 as a result starting right after the bullying of Nicole happened.

You hit the nail on the head with everything you mentioned! I was surprised how invested I got with this season once prejury was out. Nicole would have been a victorious win but I’m so glad she got AFP!!!
I usually love fights in Big Brother. They make me laugh beyond belief, I love the drama of it all. This entire season however, I was like “Olay. Yep. Uh-huh. Shut the fuck up. I could literally give less of a shit.”

No I missed them this year and barely even remembered have not existed so Jackson's controversy actually went so far over my head that I couldn't understand people getting so bitter for a day until I caught up.

I’ve gotten in arguments in TH-cam comments with people saying they did not bully Nicole like did they even see what happened? It made me so frustrated.

Regardless of the Houseguests interactions and gameplay, it was clear that Big Brother wanted to get more experimental this season. This was noted on the on theme, casting decision (from Houseguests knowing each to having close connections prior to entering the house), the twists (most notably Camp Comeback and Prank Week), increasing the use of live animals, tweaking when certain comps (like the final HoH being endurance and not a quiz (Seriously, When is the last time that comp at 4 hasn’t been a quiz?) and other changes toward the end front the double eviction on.
However, a lot of the experimentation did go wrong due a mixture of the gameplay and even pitfalls and oversight made by production. The biggest case the combined mixture backfiring was the Camp Director being made to banish four people which lead to the pitfall of creating racial overtones that affected the perjury portion of the season l, especially since Jackson wanted to take the absolute easiest way out to the point of arguable flawed game logic over banishing David, which he would later found out would backfire.
In terms of the twists, this is what I think should have happened.
No banishment the first week. Instead, Camp Comeback should have been the first four weeks/evicted of jury with Prank Week should have yield the added effect an eviction being pranked to tie in the existing twist. (Re-entry comp: The Search for Camp B.B. with the first houseguest find their way back wins re-entry.)
Camp Director: Since this meant to be a broken power and the first night twist to push the game forward, the Camp Director should have been:
1. Guaranteed safety from the first eviction while being allowed the play in the first HoH.
2. Nominating 2 houseguest for eviction while potentially nominating 4 should the Camp Director also win that HoH comp
(if the the first night would have yielded one quarter of the house at risk of the being the first evicted, that would have woken up everybody better than the banishment could ever do. Note: the racial pitfall still would have happened despite Jackson making a logical decision with nominating Kemi and a flawed game logic one with putting up David). If the one the two nominees won HOH and/or have POV used on them, then it is up to the HOH to make the replacement nominee (Note: Kemi and David would have remained of the block as I don’t see either of them winning either comp, especially the HoH as Jackson would have dropped the second both of them were out.)
3. Pair up everyone for the first HoH comps.
4. Link the twist to the Whacktivity comp twist, where everyone but the Camp Director must sign up for a Whacktivity. However, the Camp Director decides the order when Houseguest pick their Whacktivity as well as, if possible, the order of when each Whacktivity is done.
Whacktivity: In the event a Houseguests gets evicted prior to their Whacktivity, then America gets to select one houseguest, regardless if they participated in a Whacktivity, to fill in the vacancy. If a Whacktivity goes unused via expiration or eviction, then America gets control with the timeframe for up to one week past expiration.
No field trip twist. Instead, use that comp plus the Camp Comeback comp for the comp for an additional round in the post-battle back since a re-entry at that point would have created Week 12 in having 2 eviction round like it typically does.

No no no no keep the ninety nine days and keep the 9 jurors, this forces players to maintain a level of good gameplay to be able to sway all the jurors as well as the fact that a longer season means more episodes, and I wanna be able to be in the house for 99 days when I go on someday too just to make the most of the experience, and I’m sure the houseguest would agree. However, this is my first season watching so maybe I’m a little uneducated, but I agree with everything else you said

Love your take on the season. I feel as if All Stars is the only way to go next season. After all of the backlash from this year, it would be the only thing to pull back some loyal viewers. We made it through Gina Marie, Victoria, Raven, and Paul twice. WE NEED this CBS!
