I'd honestly just recommend buying a real 2nd hand police siren off Ebay, you can get them for $50 all day. The Federal Signal PA300 would be perfect for a low key set up like this.
Far too loud and produces law enforcement sounds. Can be arrested and jailed for sounding it. May also be arrested for possessing one in the vehicle. Fake cops have caused this concern.
@@robertgift it’s only illegal if you sound it, just like this one. There is no law against having one in your car anywhere in the US. You just can’t use it on public roadways

Just for future reference, when you put a connector onto your wire, try not to leave any bare wire sticking out of the back or front. You shouldn't see any copper. It helps prevent short circuits.
FYI. You dont need to drill a hole in the firewall. Just feed the wire through the existing hole on the right side where the police package wiring is fed through.
I know you've gotten a lot of Trolling on this video, and i'm sorry about that. I realize your Not sayin this is a Feniex system, or Whelen system. Your saying hey heres a 20 dollar budget siren. I mean your just show casing what it is, nothing more. Thank you. Good video.
Literally EVERY single button on the controller is labeled wrong. Siren = Horn. Alarm = Yelp. Yelp = Wail. Fire = Manual Wail. Wail = Hi-Lo. Like wtf?!
Ok, as an amateur electrical engineer, there are a few things that raise the hairs on my back: 1. Why do you not connect the negative/ground/neutral to the chassis of the vehicle? Your chassis is the "neutral" of the vehicle. Never EVER connect it directly to the battery unless you HAVE to. 2. Why are you not using a FUSE on the positive lead? If the siren ever shortcircuits, your car battery is dead as well with a fire hazard. And with that Chinese crap, a shortcircuit is not implausible. Why not buy a proper Whelen? 3. Bare copper wire has the nasty tendency to oxidize over time, ESPECIALLY in hot and humid environments. Was it too much to solder them wire extensions together instead of just braiding them and heat shrinking them together? Heatshrink, contrary to popular belief, doesn't make it airtight, moisture can still get in over time... If you're not sure what you're doing, and making a "tutorial", please, for the love of god, make it a proper one. This is a tutorial on making a time bomb, not a siren.
No fuse is simply asking for trouble, the gauge of that cable you've used will result in one big fire if it shorts to ground. I hope you've got a good fire extinguisher.

Atoka County Emergency Services woah what the hell man? I thought you where the atoka emergency services, not some Hoodlum. Also why such a dick? Nobody should be saying what you just said unless they are looking for a fight
Atoka County Emergency Services and no it depends on state laws. Like I said these use car alarm tones so if you are just honking it down the highway or something or you just get pulled over with it you’d get a ticket for a non moving violation for having a non stock horn
@Atoka County Emergency Services isn't it a felony to impersonate someone else, even an entire emergency service posing as them? Now you're representing them as a TH-cam channel swearing at and abusing the general public! I think your argument is finished, expect a phone call in the near future and you should prepare a good explanation after the phone call I'm about to have.
It took me a bit to find the size online for the extender of the handset. What you need is a GE TL26190 Telephone In-Line Coupler and RJ22 Headset cable. You can find them both on amazon.
I installed a full "Code 3" brand Siren/PA and 3 position emergency light control box with discreet California Code 3 Compliant lights and a 100 watt speaker behind the grill of my 1990 Toyota Camry when I was a 17 year old Police Explorer. Our Electronic Technician that installed the same in the official vehicles was quite amazed and jealous. Anyway, Unitrol, Federal Signal, SVP and Code 3 are the best and most professional
So I actually have one of these... Two tiny metal clips came off of something inside the handheld mic piece. Any idea where they're supposed to go? It just stays constant PA because those tiny clips came off. And do you know what exact connectors your extension pieces were? If I have to buy another, I'm adding a splitter and running both speakers off one handheld mic.
Question for a Florida LEO. I am from Ohio and have a 200 watt Whelen siren on my truck as well as red lights. I use my truck for work (towing) as well as my county Emergency Management Agency - which we're permitted to have. If I travel to Florida to visit my dad, would they give me trouble for having it on my truck?
How did you extend the cable with the splitter box like where do you get it from online what's the name of it as I have searched everywhere and I cannot seem to find it... Am from the UK and we don't have a walmart, I have however tried local stores but they don't seem to have it.
I have a ‘00 Chevy blazer and the positive and negative connections don’t have the little terminals that your car seems to have, any words of advice on what I should do?
Question why did you mount it side ways instead of foward facing to project the sound outward?....was it to protect the speaker from the elements so it wouldn't get wrecked?
For the siren features, do you have to hold the button down continuosly, or can you press it and let go, and it will keep playing until you press it again?
Would it be better to wire it to a remote wire? Could it drain your battery over night? I’m thinking about putting one in my car I just want to know what the best possible way to do so is
Wow, that was an excellent video, I didn't think that would sound that good, but it turned out fantastic job, keep up the good work waiting for the next video

pretty good video, lays out the info i was looking for. I'd recommend to anyone doing this, to look up a lineman splice instead of the frayed braiding mr random uses. it'll work, but for one if you don't use glue lined heat shrink then moisture will get in there and make the connection worse with time. not to mention with a light tug you can pull the wires apart. better yet, buy some spade clips from the same autozone shelf you got the batt connectors at. or for something more permanent, buy a dollar store soldering iron and sink a bunch of solder into the joint, then heatshrink. Also there's already gasketed holes behind the dash to snake cabling in: you don't need to drill a sharp hole by your feet, which will inevitably shred and then short the phone line running through it.

thats too cheap for the vic man.get a good unit from amazon
officer carl johnson abrams makes a great one. 200 watt unit
Rifles First someone else mentioned that he is a real cop might be why?
Rifles First ya they do
private security officer also use them when working in large private area
Rifles First wrong actually we do not have to install our own siren in our personal vehicle.

do you know if they made any front push bars for a 2002 explorer like police style
How is it all holding up it still works? And how about the speaker it still all good being thats the main part thats exposed to the weather
Does anyone know if it's illegal to use the siren sound as a horn? My vics horn dosent work so I would love to wire that thing as a horn lol

Thanks for explaining the legality of it, that's cool you actually gave that info, most cops will lie and arrest you
How dare they. Impersonation of a cop is not illegal at all!
where can I buy the cable splitter and extension Cable in the uk England ive done a search but come up empty handed
Most states have a state law that prohibits any kind of police siren on your vehicle even if you don't even use it just the fact it's there is illegal
He's a cop
My alarm has a siren...
BigDish101 manual alarms
BigDish101 and I doubt it's standard issue
Most if not all aftermarket alarm's come with sirens.

Can you press 2 buttons at once?
Truck horns in cars they allow in USA?
So it won't kill your battery if it is constantly hooked up
No it's like a car horn or a cigarette lighter or your hazzards
Looks like you went from an 18 gague wire to a 14 or 12 gague. Is this okay?
I'm looking to buy a crown vic. What are some key things to look for, example mileage and year.
Anthony Mazza you don't wanna but Vics before 06 also mileage should be under 250,000
What about for security purposes only in Florida? Licensed security officers?

I just order my "$20" ebay police siren; people here in NY are going to hate me lol thx for the awesome video
You could afforded a used Police interceptor crown vic. Is there a reason not to spend an extra $200 dollars for a quality siren system?
I got the same one from wish. Works great. But I'm having trouble finding out what type of telephone cable is that.
Very cool. I also bought this one a couple years back.
How loud are they in comparison to a standard car horn?
1:05 now you feel like Living in the Netherlands😂
Umm why did you put the speaker facing the side?
my 09 crown vics side marker also went out you should show how to do a new bulb or LED swap replacement for it.
google
Hot lead direct to battery? You are asking for a car fire
What is the part number of that plug you got and what is the adapter type specificity
I recommend that you solder the wires or use connectors with soldering material in it.
we're really in for a hell of a storm now 😂😂
Did you find out a specific name of the extension cord
Does this not drain your battery?

Don't worry about the trim panel DomC. It soon will be burned up in the fire. :)
Does anyone think this would be loud enough for off roading? Like to alert other cars your going to pass them
To be honest the siren sounds like either Senken or Landun they both are chinese made siren which is very popular in my county
Have to be 10 gauge wire or will 12 gauge work
either one
Where you get your headlight?🤔 they look really nice 😯

And I find it easier to tape the end of the wire to the end of a screw driver or hard wire and push it through the rubber grommet where the factory wiring goes. Untape it pull wire through
