Man, I get what you mean with the anger. The DB9 (facelifted), Virage and DBS still look stunning, way better than the DB11. That gash along the side is awful. You pretty much need to buy it in black in order to hide the design.

Why compare them? They are completely different cars! NO ONE with this purchasing power will spent months thinking "ahhh should I have the Porsche or the Aston??". They are both very well put together cars, but in no way compatible. In fact, I will claim the DB11 has no real competition right now. The closest thing would be something like the Jaguar XK... which is not on the market anymore. Most car reviewers today seem to only think: 0-60 time, horsepower, lap times and dragrace. Shame really.

Adrian Alfano I think he was talking about road speeds rather than track. 0-60: 2.6 as opposed to 3.6 and top speeds are both around 200. so yeh there is really not much in it.

I think you were too kind to the DB11. My god did ever seem to experience a lot of body roll in the corners. I don't think the Aston would be able to keep up with the turbo S on your B roads either.
DB11 is still a step up. I’m sure if an Aston Martin owner wanted to be a bit quicker around the corners they can afford and will have gone for 911 Turbo S.
Maybe a red Turbo S doesn't fit much but a black one ( or white one ) is more "distinctive" ... however ... 2 great cars but i personally would NOT compare them or see them as "competition" ... There are customers for both of them ;-)

Do you want a handsome, lightning fast, understatedly luxurious car? Or do you want a car that is beautiful inside and out, more comfort oriented, but still fast? You can't go wrong really.
the turbo s coupe in black with yellow accents looks awesome to me, but the db 11 has more charisma. but i would like to see how the db11 match the amg s63 coupe 4motion. porsche is more to the fun and sporty side, aston is more like a mercedes type car. i dont prefer any of the 3. all 3 have some points to it.
I love Porsches and I've driven a lot of great Porsches. Driving the turbo is insane, I never thought I would drive a car that I thought was too fast until the turbo. Its too damn fast for me, it's scary fast and I like to drive cars at their limit but holy shit this is car you can not do that in.
Yes you can. But you really shouldn't, and you need a hell of a road to do it. They work really well on track, however - an the Aston won't. There's no doubt it's faster than the law really allows but that torque...
You can spec different versions of the seats and the interior colours. For example with wooden trim, with or without the stitching and so on. The Interior is as good as the older ones have been + better technology but o have to admit that the interior of this particular model looks absolutely hideous.
I have the exact same Gripe; however mine is specifically with the Gauge cluster. The gauges of the past have much more class. I miss the dual analog gauges. but the rest of the interior I think is very nice.

The 911 turbo the GT version of a brilliant track car which brings both aspects into its breadth of ability. The Aston would get pummelled on a track and like wise 500 miles in the 911 makes you feel like you have been through a washing machine. You hit the perspective spot on.

The DB11 looks hideous from behind. The lights are just wrong, the fastback roofline doesn't really cut it and the spoiler seems like its stolen from a 1st gen Boxster.. No idea what the designer was thinking. The 911 Turbo, in comparison, looks more perfect. Great video btw! Enjoyed watching.

I think the red dots were an underlying layer of material with the over-layer being pattern-perforated to allow that effect. I don't think the dots were the surface material.
I own a 911 but if I would be able to afford a new Turbo easily I would at least consider the DB 11 - It looks so stunning But as I can't afford those cars anyway yet, my opinion doesn't sell cars :P
It’s not exactly a like for like comparison....if I was driving to a South of France it’s the Aston, if I was wanting to get from Oxford to Cornwall for the weekend it’s the 911, I have a Vantage that replaced a 991S the Aston is technology inferior but I feel better for owning and real world driving at 75mph is so much more enjoyable in the Vantage

The looks have added an unpleasant amount of awkward (like some newer Audis), in this video at least it sounds like an unspectacular V8 (or even an I4 with added noise) and that speedometer belongs into a Japanese hot hatch or a Mini.

I don't understand why some people say the 911 isn't a fantastic looking car. To me, it's hands down the most beautiful, recognizable, iconic, historically important, and classiest sports/supercar in the world. The 911 Base Model alone with 400+wheel horsepower, which it is, is a masterpiece. Porsche *always* underrates their cars real numbers and performance figures. The quality is unmatched by ANYONE in their segment and you understand that to the bottom of your soul within 10 seconds of driving one your first time. And so on. My friend got a base as a daily and you're able to move around like a world champion middleweight hall of fame boxer. The Turbos and GT cars are too much for most streets, or planets. The Base is a smaller nuke but it's a ... nuke nonetheless. That's all that matters. Because you can give it full warp speed and don't have to stop in second in 2 seconds. You can throw it around like a 400 lb yoked out gazelle with missiles on its head and God's laughter is the sound of the car going by. The 911 is the 👑 of the 🛣️.
It's a difference between wanting a sporty GT car in the Aston, and a GT-like sports car in the Turbo.

They took some risks with the styling and I think it paid off in some areas, but for me the new(ish) v12 vanquish takes the cake in terms of looks.

I don't understand why some people say the 911 isn't a fantastic looking car. To me, it's hands down the most beautiful, recognizable, iconic, historically important, and classiest sports/supercar in the world. The 911 Base Model alone with 400+wheel horsepower, which it is, is a masterpiece. Porsche *always* underrates their cars real numbers and performance figures. The quality is unmatched by ANYONE in their segment and you understand that to the bottom of your soul within 10 seconds of driving one your first time. And so on. My friend got a base as a daily and you're able to move around like a world champion middleweight hall of fame boxer. The Turbos and GT cars are too much for most streets, or planets. The Base is a smaller nuke but it's a ... nuke nonetheless. That's all that matters. Because you can give it full warp speed and don't have to stop in second in 2 seconds. You can throw it around like a 400 lb yoked out gazelle with missiles on its head and God's laughter is the sound of the car going by. The 911 is the 👑 of the 🛣️.
