I challenged myself to wear everything in my closet. I wore a different outfit for about 45 days, and during the sixth and seventh week I was even wearing dresses to work, which I wouldn’t normally do. This helped me to realize that many of the remaining items were not suitable for me to be seen in, so I was able to donate a hundred items that were too small, see through, not weather appropriate, too casual, etc. A great exercise and a reality check.
I have a hard time with "saving clothes for a special occasion." I often don't bother getting dressed if I work from home. I just wear leggings and items I wouldn't feel okay going outside in. It's difficult to overcome this "saving the good things" mentality. I really struggle with this. It might be interesting to try your "least worn items for a week" challenge to force myself to try to wear those unworn items.
I really enjoyed this one thank you! Another TH-camr I watch suggests wearing your 'best' clothes everyday, as you should always feel fantastic, and I think she is right. Now all my clothes are my favourite clothes, and I love getting ready for the day!I
I am so glad that I found your channel! I'm a stay at home mom too (pregnant with baby number 3!) and I've been so inspired by your wardrobe and lifestyle and I've really started to value the clothes I have and build a minimalist, stylish wardrobe that I love (based a lot on your outfit videos!) Keep up the awesome work 💖
The bowl paintings are really pretty! I paint, too. I started filling sketchbooks a few years ago and love that they are a quick way to get my ‘art fix’ when I don’t have time to do a full oil painting. ❤️
This was so interesting and inspiring! I've worked from home for a ling time, always wearing my "at home" clothes. I also have a toddler, so it didn' t make sense to "dress up" just to drop him off at the daycare before work. At work I'm on video quite a lot, so sometimes I would quickly run to get a nicer top before a call so that people would 't notice I'm wearing almost the same sweatshirt every day 😅 you inspired me to change that and this has actually been life changing. I also started leaving my house more often. I don' t like skinny jeans on me anymore, too :) Just found your channel and I'm loving your content! ❤ from a new subscriber from Poland :)
Great video. I love your calmness, snippets of your family, the fall leaves, your house and yard, your activities and especially your clothes, why you like them or not.❤😊
So I started following you a while ago for you content and we have a very similar style. And now I discover you have 4 kids! I also have 4 kids. I totally understand the buying of mum clothes.
I can really relate to your comments about each outfit. It is good to be aware of why we like or dislike clothing pieces. Recently when I went to put on my fine cashmere sweaters, I noticed moth damage on two of them. It is a heartbreaking find. I am hoping they can be repaired. This alerted me to the fact that I need to take better care of my fine wool items. If you have advice on cashmere storage, I would like to see this in a future video. Thank you for this video. It was nice to hear about your process for evaluating outfits for wearability and comfort.
Oh no, thats so sad about your sweaters! 😭 I haven't personally had any moth issues, but this video from Useless might be helpful: th-cam.com/video/UbQWpR6-B8c/w-d-xo.html
Yup doing the same right now this was great to see. I stored all my denim but one pair I have two of same that fit perfectly and can double as trousers bc so dark. I lost weight and life is too short to hunt for pants that fit. Our clothing taste is very similar. We can get to -50c here and I’m thinking the extreme dry air makes some clothing textures less appealing in winter. Cashmere just feels great. Nadaam cashmere is so far best value I’ve found. Happy thanksgiving in Canada we are now done thanksgiving and gearing up for Christmas and advent. ❤️🇨🇦
Excellent video Val. Try as I might I just can't wear my jeans as all day wear. I can't wait to change out of them into leggins or track pants 😆 Wearing scrubs at work for long busy shifts makes me seek comfy pants always now 😁 Thank you for your great content 😊

Wow that's a long challenge! But looks like you learned a lot of things from it! 🥰

Val, you are that green turtleneck! It’s your signature in my eyes😍
Thanks Michele! I do really love that deep green color 😍
You always look so calm despite having 4 young kids. You never look frazzled :)
Ha thanks! I’m a pretty chill mom, but not all the time 😅
It’s true ❤️ you bring calmness everywhere you go 😘 which is lovely

Yes, I love that too! 😁
I just started trying to “look cute” every day, even at home, so that I can wear clothes I have and didn’t wear for two years of staying at home.
@@ValKovalchuk outfit #5 where is the duster cardigan from maybe
I can find on Poshmark
@@angeliasmith1611 it’s a Uniqlo 100% wool ribbed cardigan! If you search that on Poshmark you will probably find some 🥰
Nice style. I myself am a fan of stylish and practical looks. Those cats you painted are adorable.
Thank you! 😊

aw thanks so much! 🥰
I love the aesthetics of your home and your style.
Thank you so much! ❤
Wonderful vlog! I really enjoyed the concept of reaching for less worn items. Nice lessons learned through the process.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching! 😁
Least worn! What a great idea. Will do it tomorrow.
How did it go for you? Did you try it? 🥰
You’ve inspired me to look closer in my closet and try to wear everything! And if I don’t it needs to go. I loved your outfit ideas too by the way. ☺️
Yay that's great to hear! And let mw know if you try a challenge like this for yourself 🥰
You are so talented with your art
Thank you so much! 🥰
Loved this video. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and examples of your day ❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love your experiment! I understoo that I also save my nice clothes for outside. I am lazy to dress up only for my self, when I stay at home all day.
Yeah I completely understand! 😅
So I started following you a while ago for you content and we have a very similar style. And now I discover you have 4 kids! I also have 4 kids. I totally understand the buying of mum clothes.
Yes, they are so easy to buy! 😅
