Guyana South America.
@@starz9527 I'm sorry to hear about the swelling and redness you're experiencing around your ankle and heel. These symptoms can result from various factors, including conditions like retrocalcaneal bursitis, which is the inflammation of the bursa located at the back of the heel bone. This condition often arises from repetitive activities such as excessive walking, running, or jumping, leading to irritation and inflammation in that area. Regarding your concern about insulin resistance, it's important to note that while insulin resistance can lead to fluid retention and swelling in the lower extremities, it typically doesn't cause localized redness and swelling specifically at the back of the heel. However, systemic conditions like diabetes can contribute to peripheral edema, which is generalized swelling in the feet and ankles. Given the localized nature of your symptoms, it's advisable to consult a healthcare professional for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan. They can assess your condition comprehensively and determine whether the swelling and redness are due to a localized issue like bursitis or related to systemic factors such as insulin resistance.
