Great review mate, eagerly awaiting mine to replace my Pixel 8 Pro!
How's the sound quality compared with Pixel 8 Pro, which has been great and I use the speakers a lot.
Most reviewers say xiaomi 14 sound is great, so I've got high hopes it won't be a downgrade!

Honestly I loved the phone. Probably the best you'd get for that price and to be honest in almost every way better than a pixel 8 pro. I think you'll appreciate the pure power of 8 Gen 3 most of all. As good as Tensor is it's not got that raw processing power and you'll feel it as soon as you start using the phone. I've got an S23 Ultra and it hit us right away. The speakers personally are super punchy, crisp and clear and there's zero distortion even at the top end of volume. I'm sure you'll love it. Please let me know how you get on and appreciate the feedback

@@nowthentech thanks for the reply, that's very reassuring to hear. The wait is killing me, got it on AliExpress and estimated delivery is May 3-9 😫
Sending the P8P back next week, after 4 months it developed microphone issues where callers couldn't hear me and my voice came through so crackly. Also the USB port has become loose, making it hard to charge and Android auto keeps disconnecting. Very disappointing for a high end phone and I treat my phones like babies.
The lag in processing photos is noticeable, coming from the Pixel 5 I didn't expect it to be, I think that will an instant noticeable difference when I get the 14!
Although the cameras are extremely capable, the P8P oversharpening is still there and pretty annoying. I'm really looking forward to more realism in my photos and a more pocket friendly size.

I'm hoping the Pixel 9 series will be that step up in not only performance but cameras, software, processing etc. But that's the hope.
I don't think I ever had to wait on the 14 only when in night shots but that's more so the way the software works. I think it will be well worth the wait. Good luck mate

@@nowthentech I too hope the Pixel gets there and if the renders of the 9 series are true then it's going to look very nice. I've gotten used to the clean stock Android experience, and the nifty little features like call screen and great spam call filtering are something I will miss. Hoping for a good 3+ years with the Xiaomi 14, by then we'll see if Google has sorted out their chipset, image processing and battery life 👍

@Mark..01 with those features just download the Google caller app and you get some of the features in there. I used Niagara Launcher for my daily so haven't used a built in OS for years now. Personally Hyper OS was a pleasure to use. Tons of features and customisation options and it's butter smooth in it's transitions and switching. Youll love it

You mentioned preferring Leica Authentic due to its more natural color profile, but later noted it lacks the vibrancy of Samsung. Have you compared Leica's vibrant mode to Samsung's photos? Which phone would you anticipate producing better photos, the compact Galaxy S24 (US version) or the Xiaomi 14? Thanks

So I use an S23 Ultra and that more punchy profile looks better to me personally but it is a preference. The Leica Authentic and Vibrant aren't drastically all that different just feel like it turns the colour up a notch. Samsung's photo feel like they add a bit more depth. Essentially if you like the way pixel cameras output photos then the Xiaomi 14 is a better version of it

You have to deselect the slider under notifications and status bar to enable the icon labels on hyper os
It was driving me crazy having to go to the edit screen to figure out what was what

Do all tech reviewers not use phone cases?
I hate the way every phone feels without a case
Their so hard to hold and the accidental touches are off the charts when i don't use a case

I use an S23 Ultra without a case but a skin. Don't know why just prefer it that way

i have s24 and Xiaomi 14, in my own comparison Xiaomi 14 has a better camera and video specially at night. and also in transferring big files Xiaomi 14 is way faster. I want to mention also the battery life of Xiaomi 14 is more superior than s24's battery.

Xiaomi 14 vs vivo x100 pro

    • @nowthentech
      @nowthentech  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Sadly the Vivo X100 Pro isn't available here in the UK or it would likely be our main phone purely for it's camera performance. But should we be able to access one we would for sure review it
