- Stevie Ray Vaughan and DT playing Lenny for the last time at Knott Arena, Emmittsburg, MD on May 13, 1988. SRV did not play Lenny since he collapsed in Germany on October 86'. So after that he was to divorce from her, and when this was finally done, he played the song one last time. I do not own the copyright to this. This is for entertainment purposes only.
I was at a Los Lobos show at the Greek in L.A.. Between acts, my girl had to use the restroom. I stood outside waiting for her, the lights went out and Los Lobos were about to come on stage. As I look to my left, in comes a small group of people. It is SRV and Lenny with bodyguards. They have to walk right past me to a side door. I am bugging! No one around but them and me. He sees that I recognize him and his body language says leave me alone. I pull out a pick (Herco Heavy) and simply hold it up to him. He smiles and pulls out a Fender medium from his pocket and flips it to me and gives me a thumbs up and goes through the door. A real treasure, the pick and the moment.

This guy actually 12 stepped me one unforgettable night back in 87 backstage at Tampa Florida concert . I had been on an awful cocaine relapse for weeks and couldn't stop for the life of me, he sat me down hugged me and told me everything was gonna be alright...and then we shot a game of pool!
I cleaned up soon after and have been sober ever since .He was a genuine man and very kind to me not long after he died in a helicopter crash... He was clean & sober 4 years himself🙏

I will tell you this I met him about a year before that Tampa concert in the Dallas airport I was waiting for my flight and I saw this guy with a hat on actually I couldn’t see his body I just saw the hat with a feather bobbing up and down walking kind of fast and I knew it was him without even seeing him so I followed him he was walking fast he was late for his flight and when he got to his gate he missed his plane .I was with my friend and we sat down and we just started talking and my friend had this AA necklace on and he said I know what that is and that started the whole conversation we hung for a good hour and talked about guitars and his guitar tuning and string gage and stuff...
he then told me when I play in Tampa you write a note and give it to my tour manager I want you to come back and say hi an I did...!

I used to be into queen, still am, I’ll always love queen but I remember thinking “there’s no way it gets better than this” then I found out about Clapton (I play guitar myself so I always wanted to see the goats and Clapton was the only name I knew) so after Clapton I discovered Hendrix. I knew Hendrix was the undisputed god of guitar for all his innovations and revolutionary way of playing guitar but I wasn’t into his music that much either. Then one day, scrolling thorough Facebook I found a video that said “Stevie Ray Vaughan and Albert King- Pride and joy” now, I had heard of the 3 kings so secretly I went into that video, hoping Albert would kick this guys stevies butt. But within 3 seconds of Stevie beginning to play, I knew he was different. And I knew he was going to be the next big thing in my life. And so it has been for the last 2 years. I cannot put into words what Stevie did for me from his grave. I’ve learned sooo much from him, life lessons and music too. I’m so sad I never got to see Stevie, I was born in 2000. And if there’s one regret I have in this life, is not being born on time to see this greatness. It’ll be stevie’s 30th anniversary since the day he passed in 2 days.

I was deaf for 60 years, but then I got a cochlear implant. I didn't know how to hear, so I had auditory therapy every week for three years. My son-in-law has admired SRV for a long time. Then one day, I ran across a TH-cam video of Stevie. I decided to see if I could figure it out. I listened. My gosh! Wow! Never heard anything like it. I'm sure artificial hearing is different than normal hearing, but my gosh!! He was playing sounds I never imagined existed! He was magnificent wasn't he? What a beautiful soul he was and what a tragic loss for all of us.

I have the same story as you but Hendrix was my inspiration. I'm just now starting to explore again because I've listened to almost every Hendrix song there is- even the bootlegs only on youtube. I just found out I'm in the top 0.001% of listeners on spotify. So far what I've found is everyone who was intensely interested by Hendrix has become an indescribable master of guitar. Stevie ray is no exception. He once said he felt like Jimi Hendrix was a brother to him and he felt close to him even though they never met. I totally get that. Theres just about 3 artists who I think have a pure connection to music (on guitar) and I think they were Jimi, Stevie, and on a good night, Eric Clapton. This song is some good ass evidence. Why do all my friends like rap? They're missing so much.

I was about 17, I was depressed and suicidal.
Nothing made sense for me, nothing made me feel fullfilled and really, I was scared of life.
It was late at night, like 3am and it was one of my really bad days. But somehow I stumbled upon a video called SRV - Lenny (Live at the El Mocambo)...
I started to cry immediately (something I could never do before). Idk what it was, but I felt understood, like Stevie knew exactly what I was going through. This one video really changed my life, I found peace with myself, because I knew from that moment on that all I have to do in life is being myself.
Sometimes I forget to be myself and lose my peace, gut all I gotta do is come back to this song and learn to accept my pain, for it only makes me stronger.
I wish he was still alive so I could thank him

Well, I have to add another story of my time with this man. Merriweather post pavilion in Columbia MD 1989. I was working security and being the older dude (23) they put me backstage. Not one of the other workers knew who he was or cared but I sure did. The bus pulled up for a few min and out came the posse with Stevie being third to exit. Fresh pack of Kool's and a smile on his face. Being the only black dude there he came right for me. I said Mr Vaughn your wait is 13 min and there are food and drinks in the stage room. He laughed and said they already ate and asked me if I had a light. I had a black zippo and he seemed to like it. They all stood around and cracked jokes about Philadelphia where they were the night before and said he was glad to be out of there. The main mangt type guy said time to go and they just walked on stage like it was just another day at work. I think they played for 2 hours and 15 min and was floored at every note. Jimmy and he played the double neck and jimmy backed him on Travis Walk and Texas Flood. After the final son they went to exit and he looked at me and said " did you lack it (like with a texas drawl) I said hells yeah. He said did it sound good to you, I said man, you sounded like you might wanna check your family tree. Jimmy laughed out loud and Stevie just smiled and him and his soaking wet shirt walked past me and he said Thanks and headed to the bus. Not the best story but that shit meant alot to me. I just could not fan out cause its silly. I paid to see him after that 6 more times but wow, he was a nice man.
I'm still kicking myself in the pants for not having seen him when I had the chance. HIs last appearance at the Merriweather, I thought, "I'll catch him next tour." There was never to be another tour.

Great story. He was such a humble guy that it seemed he was unapproachable until you engage him. I had a chance to tell my story to Kim Wilson and he laughed and said that was Stevie alright.

I have been a blues guitarist for 30 plus years. Met Stevie several times at Antones. When her recorded riviera paradise, he went into the studio alone, turned off the lights sat down in a chair his back to the glass told them to roll tape and in one take recoded what millions have come to love. This version of "Lenny" is my favorite it says I love you and it's all over all at once. I don't believe he ever stopped loving her. Stevie exuded love always. This video is priceless for the music.

@jemjean100 ouch, it's terribly sad... but sadly I doubt stevie's rock and roll attitude would have made him stay loyal, and I doubt having a husband constantly touring would help with Lenny either. it's all a very said affair. I sincerely hope they were on good terms in the end.

I was at Alpine valley that weekend, I am still to this day never going to forget what was an unbelievable weekend with Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, SRVs bro Jimmy and other greats, and waking up Monday to go to work and hearing about his passing, just how fast so much happiness can be erased by such horrible news. I remember seeing an interview with him and at the end he stated if I go I hope it’s after my greatest performance, I can honestly say it was for for me. 08/27/90 RIP

That had to b a truly heartbreaking day 4 u.I had the honor of seeing him n double trouble in Nashville at Starwood. Luv that man to this day.I am so sorry for that trauma u had to feel.God bless u it may have been a lot of yes gone but ull never forget it..
I was there Saturday as well. I will never recover for the news I got on that Monday evening. There is a bootleg available recorded from the soundboard of that show.
In Dallas my buddy says hey I got two tickets to see the Moody Blues if you gimme a ride to the show I'll give you one. I was 16 he was 21 I had a pickup. Cool let's go a last minute thing. Get to a place never been to before called Reunion arena. Big marquee TONIGHT AN EVENING WITH THE MOODY BLUES under that small letters special gst stevie ray vaughn. He said who the **** is stevie ray vaughn, I said I don't know just some opener we'll sit through. In we go 8th row just off center smoking a doob, laughing my *** off. Buddies telling jokes and just kinda looked funny. Lights out, on walks these three dudes one with a guitar and a hat. Playing begins loud my friend still talking telling jokes 5 minutes later, me to him hang on man listen to this guy this is the most incredible guitar playing I've ever heard. Never forget it. I can't remember one song the Moody Blues played, but I can remember Stevie that was 1983.

I first saw him in Hollywood Ca. Not glitzy Hollywood, the old dirty section of it. He played in a converted movie theater that was turned into a strip club. The area was rough. Seedy, not dangerous. After that, they tried having music acts in there. It was called The Ivar Theater, on Ivar Street off Hollywood Blvd. HE BLEW THE ROOF OFF THE DUMP!!! And yeah it was LOUD! He pulled out all the tricks. Hendrix stuff, feedback, and flipping the guitar around flat on the stage by the tremolo bar. This was Double Trouble. Must have been in 1982 or maybe 1981. Not sure of the year. Most folks at the show hadn't seen him before. Talking with others out on the sidewalk afterward, the general consensus was, this was something very unique and all of us were blown away. After that, I kept an eye out to see if he would play anywhere within driving distance to go see them. Still listen to him weekly. Thanks for your story. Makes me wonder how many times that happened at other shows.
@@TBlanktim Yea, yours sounds a very special moment, yea he was unstoppable by anyone but himself, except for crash. Every body- blues, rock player measures themselves next to him. Around the world. I seen Jimmy several times he never tries to pull off what Stevie did cause he can’t non one can.

The age range is what gets me. People born 2006+ and still getting into stevie like he'd just come out.
Stevie Ray... one of only a chosen few... touched by God...a legend born in my lifetime that will be remembered as one of the greatest guitarists that ever lived.
He was playing this with such feel, sadness mixed with good memories, goodbye to an important person & time in his life. God Rest your souls Stevie & Lenny.

Sad they got divorced. I guess he being away from home a lot and the drug and alcohol abuse did not help the relationship. They did love each a lot and had been together for a very long time. I read his manager and Janna encouraged him to divorce Lenny? I cannot help feeling if Janna had not come along Stevie and Lenny may have had a chance to repair their relationship once he had sobered up. Just my opinion. Don’t shoot me down.

@@trish5515 I doubt they would have repaired their relationship. I read that while Stevie was in rehab he called her and she wouldn't talk to him and when he got out and went home she had changed all the locks on the house and was seeing other men. That's when he filed for divorce.
@@ella5319 Get real, they are no more special than anyone else...and the kids would grow up more likely to be entitled and no better than anyone else....SRV was another celeb muso who couldn't hold life together, and definitely not someone I look up to (sure he played great....but that's all he had).
When i sit out back and watch the sunset or watch the stars and listen to this. I have to hold back tears.

I'm 16 years old and this version really gets me, I always cry whenever i listen to this. The standard tuning hits different in this song and his soul while playing it. Truly a master, I never imagine that i would miss Stevie, I've been obssesed with his music and I'm playing guitar learning stuffs from him not only his techniques but I'm also learning how to be a better person and showing some love to others too and that is all because of him, he is changing my life to be the better version of myself. Thank you Stevie! We miss you!

Stevie Ray Vaughan has helped me through a lot of tough times in my life.
Felt that, brother. Currently keeping me together. Learning some of his stuff in guitar, and not only is it great to listen to, but playing it takes it to another level. You feel his soul in a way. Mind-blowing.
Not a single note did he ever play that didn't come from the very core of his being -- and that's what sets him apart, aside from his absolute mastery of the blues rock guitar. Music that touches your soul. Rock In Peace

That is so true. He never, ever “missed” a note. And every note was a note that only he could play. I miss the man. He was, and still is, the only artist that I know I can listen to, and get completely lost in his music. We all need that sometimes.
More soul in that man than any musician I have ever heard. Love the others but Stevie changes you on a deeply core level. Dont know how that can happen. So sad hes taken from us.

When I was 16 I was really into death metal, nevertheless for my birthday my grandparents gave me a stack of SRV albums. I still remember where I was the first time I heard little wing, driving down the street having to pull over because I couldn't see through the years. I had no idea at the time who he was, but I felt it.
I heard little wing and my life changed forever during those seven minutes. I'm a guitar teacher now, and I love what I do. Stevie, wherever you are, thank you man.
I too am from metal origins and little wing was the first time I heard SRV and he has been my all time favorite guitarist ever since. I also now am a guitar teacher. Just goes to show, regardless of anyones music preference once you hear stevie it changes you forever.
I miss him so much ! Not just the music , he was a sweet soul and great person ! Love you SRV !

Not only was SRV one of the greatest shredders ever, but his heart was enchanting . . .
I stayed in prison for a good chunck of my life, for 22 years. One thing that I could remember was the first time I heard SRV. There are many things that i just don't want to remember or, if I had the option, I would delete those experiences. However, hearing SRV play a rendition of Jimi's "Little Wing" is something that I will never forget. I mean, never. It really affected my life. It made me think of how great one person could be. I didn't know who he was. SRV is the one that got me into blues and who I thought of all of those years. Sometimes people are just going to be able to do it for you even if you are in a prison.

Richard Bonillas, Jr I listened to him all my life but the minute I heard him play little wing it changed me no the minute I heard and seen him. nothing in the world is like him no one can compare he is one with his guitar they are soul mates. I have led a not so good life as well. he inspires me to get over it move on who cares if you are almost 40 your hubby chose dope who cares you can still learn you always wanted to. I picked up my daughters guitar today.
His music changed me too. I think he played little wind on Austin city limits. I decided when I saw that , that I wanted to do something, anything that well.

I felt that too, funny how when he was alive, a lot of critics called him an imitation of Hendrix, yet after his passing the same critics celebrated his talent, Elvis was the same to an extent.
Stevie was tuned to a higher plane, of music, and at the end of his life, tuned to the higher power Amen.

Yeah, I was 17 and driving down 59 through the middle Houston right about the Wesleyan exit when it came across the radio. I was just sick man. At the time I'd been stuck on him like glue for over 5 years, although he played Houston often, I was just to young to see him live. Some things you just take for granted..
Still making such an impact on people's lives. I first heard him back in maybe 1993-94 when I was 12-13 and not yet playing guitar. I had to know what this sound was. Been hooked ever since and playing ever since as well. I'm sitting here in my house in 2022 at 40 years old now in tears listening to this. This man was a channel for love and positive vibes. He lives on in many ways.
Stevie's song is so beautiful, so imbued with love, it must have been heartbeaking for him knowing that what was created from love for his wife was now a sad and sweet goodbye to Lenny... It's a shame this show wasn't filmed just for this song alone. rip to both
Easily my favorite version of Lenny. The tone of his guitar is so much sweeter and brighter than other versions, along with a slightly faster tempo. That's what makes this version especially special for me.

Yeah, you absolutely were lucky. He had already been killed by the time I was old enough with a higher level of interest to really notice him beyond the radio, so I didn't have a chance to ever see him. I grew up with a lot of greats from many different styles being played around the house. A significant number of the artists I love are dead, too old, too "big" to come here, or are too expensive when they do come here or close. I keep forgetting that a lot of the music made during my lifetime is already considered classic. Those bands were only recently, or will soon become, eligible for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It's a good feeling in some ways.

I wish Stevie could see how many lives he profoundly impacted. I still remember hearing Lenny for the first time when I was still fighting drug and alcohol addiction. It changed me.

This song is a beautiful representation of the ups and downs, fights and quiet points of their relationship. Whether he knew it or not he created a masterpiece.
Being that I was born almost a decade after SRVs death, and being relatively new to his music (Been listening for a year or two now), every time I listen to him play on his records, live performances, talking in interviews, and reading stories having to do with SRV, all I can do is feel all the different moods and emotions. I seriously wish I would've found out about his a hell of a lot sooner.
You must think that you've been so lucky to have found him now and not so many years later.... so you can enjoy SRV's music for the rest of your life..... I had the same feeling a long time ago, I was searching for something and I finally found him ...

That just gave me chills reading your post after just listening to Lenny.I think it is so cool that you start believing. I agree, how can a human play guitar like that? I believe he played from his soul,the guitar was an extentsion of his soul.
If you play guitar or any instrument, you know how difficult it is to be the best. You have to have a natural talent to have any hope. It's obvious SRV had the natural talent as did Hendrix. But, most mortals who have the natural gift and all the practicing still will not achieve the SRV status, it's impossible.

motokev ya,they all said that when jimmy left us.i cant stand that word,srv only played what he was influenced by,as all the rest of us musicians do,there will always be greats well after were gone,stevie always said he's just playing what he was influenced by,nothing is impossible,kind of like your 4th grade teacher saying you will never amount to anything? but if you have that attitude ,your done from the get go! my buddy's dad once told me a story. he said if you don't start paying attention you will be digging holes and doing nothing in life,so when he got older he started a backhoe co. and he say's to me,you know what. i make 10 times the money digging holes than my teacher ever did! true story,look up "roddie inc" that would be his son,and you tell me if he looks poor? he's the one that told me when we were 20,i cant stand when somebody say's that's impossible! or you cant do that,after that i instilled that in my head,now i can play the heck out of a strat! from the first fret down to the last,from blue's to metal,just words of wisdom.

My mom met Srv by accident and she said that "he was the kindest most well respecting musician ever". She met him at a random bar in West Virginia.
I will never be able to play like the great SRV but he inspired me to pick up a guitar!
listen,you don't want to be a clone,im 51 build my own strats and can play blues to metal,been going since guitar class in 82. practice on every body you like and get your own style going. jimmy,stevie,there just playing there influences. open your mind and listen to whatever sounds good to you,mix em all into your style. there's been countless times people have asked stevie who he wants to play like,his answer? like me,all the ones i heard and liked all in his own style!!!!

I've been a huge fan for decades and I cannot recall a single note SRV ever played that didn't come from the heart. Stevie was NOT normal. Listen to every note and nuance. Normal people cannot express themselves this way. He was gifted.
There are so many great comments and compliments in here that say everything I think and feel about this song, SRV, my life, my choices, second chances and what happens tomorrow. I'd like to add to it, but you, his fans, have said it all for me. Thank you.

When I was 22 yrs old he played the Bayfront auditorium 1987 here in Corpus Christi tx, during the encore ( Voodoo chile) me & my friend ran up on stage, I bowed in front of him like the we're not worthy he freaked out lol , we got escorted out the back, waited 2 hrs they came out when he looked down to shake our hands he's, your the guys that ran up on stage ......
That's one of the main reasons I made that channel in the first place. Just to know about the stories from the people that were there whatching the greatness of the late great SRV. Thank you man.

standard tuning, as some commenters have opined. The tempo is noticeably
quicker and his string vibrato also seems at a different rate than usual. As far
as I know, he always played tuned down one half step. The only time I saw
him appear to be in standard 440 tuning was with Albert King on the "In
Session" DVD. I'm not positive that's the case but I've played along with and
watched it several times. Albert used a weird tuning so it's possible Stevie
tuned standard to make it easier for Albert and him to play together. Just
a guess on my part.

larry geetar your right mate it is odd to think his Lenny strat would be tuned to standard. It’s possible that the strings had tightened on there own or it is just the recording that gives the tone.. my ears can’t hear it either but he sure does play it with so much passion
He had already fell in love with somebody new in march of 86' Model Janna Lapidus who he met in New Zealand. He and Lenny divorced in 88'.
2019 and I am still playing this song on repeat like I heard it for the first time!!!! For me personally Lenny is the greatest song I have ever heard... it brings peace to my mind and heart makes all the pain just go away!!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

For the people who wonders why it sounds so ethereal, i have a theory, yes, he was palying in standart, that's for sure, but what other versions of lenny doesn't have is the keyboard, those chords are in some way the sames in lenny but with Reese Wynans everything takes another color, same with riviera paradise, he just makes it different but in a really good way.

I played bass without an amp for years. I got heavy fingers now because of it. Heavy heart too. This man with Tommy and Chris were the shit...flat out.. They found their groove. I still listen today and am in awe. It's hard to replay feeling....

I discovered Stevie only a year or so after he died but I know him personally because his Soul was in his music. He's been a part of my life for nearly 30 years and when I listen to his music and think of how he died, I get a deep pang like it happened yesterday and I lost someone close to me. I'm Catholic and I pray for his Soul because God is eternal it doesn't matter what time frame I'm in, I know I can pray for him and it makes a difference. I want to go to Heaven and I want to see Stevie there (and many others). God bless you Stevie, you touched many Souls !!

Nearly 30 years ago I witnessed a extreme day of the blues guitar featuring , Robert Cray , Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray, & Jimmy Vaughn ... And as we moved along after the final encore much like cattle , We watched as to the back of the stage helicopters taking off ..
My friend goes " Clapton is gonna crash tonight" ... And I quickly scooled him saying these guys fly in & out of here thousands of times, they could do it blind folded !!! We only saw Erie fog blanket the ski hills of Alpine Valley theater... Never heard a thing... Next morning got a phone call saying watch the news !!!

When I was a senior in high school in the Fall of 1984, I was absorbing as much music as I could possibly get my hands/ears on to learn and study as a sax player. I was a complete Jazz-Hole (listening to Parker, Coltrane, Monk, etc.). Jazz was my life, and I was convinced it was everything great about music.
But then …. one of those early days in the Fall of the school year, before rehearsal, the guitar player and bass player in our high school jazz band were just messing around playing a tune, of what I later, upon asking them, found out to be, “Couldn’t Stand the Weather.”
As soon as I heard it, I had to know what that tune that was, and who did it . I hadn’t heard of Stevie Ray Vaughan before that. I was engulfed by its feel and groove. That weekend, I put all my shekels together, went to Tower Records, found the eponymous album of this new tune I was so enamored with, purchased it, came home and began to listen, and then ……. 🤯🤯🤯
That was this first moment when I really understood the beauty of music. Stevie Ray Vaughan has, from that day, been a bedrock in my love and enjoyment of music. The more I learned from him and about him, the more I came to understand what music meant for mankind. He was a gift from God. And if you listen very closely, when he plays/sings, you can hear God speaking through his very immensely talented child. God Bless You SRV! It is, it was, and it always will be an honor and privilege.
SIDENOTE; I did catch him once live, and I don’t have any personal story about an interaction with him, but needless to say the show was more than inspirational.

I was born 15 years after his death. But listening to this is almost like getting a hug by Stevie. I’ve also learnt the song and gonna play this in a gig to tribute SRV.
First time I heard him play was in the late 70’s. I was in a record store and suddenly this unbelievable music started playing. I bought Texas Flood immediately and wore that tape out.

I could hear this song every day for decades, and I would still be amazed at how every single time, every play of the same cut, and every experience is completely different. The description contents together with how he played it hold a special meaning for me in some way. Everything changes: I can be sad and wallow in my sorrow doing nothing, or I can be happy and inspired by my experience and what I have learned by deciding to live with change. I'm going to play guitar.

Sac Memorial Auditorium, the year before, opening band a local bar band unknown. The room transformed when SRV took the stage. He left everyone nearly speechless the rest of the night, with much appreciation shown in between each song. Unlike any other concert experience, unforgettable range of emotions flooded the place, with happiness being the main one.
I've never heard him play this before. Incredible. Undoubtedly SRV is the greatest of all time
this version feels like the perfect summary of his time as a musician. The way he deviates from the original and starts playing raw blues licks, then moves into a shred and finally landing back into that sparkly lead riff. SRV could be thematic

Only just heard this version and it's my favourite, amazing playing and tone!
I was there that night. A day that I will never forget. I my friends and I went from Detroit. None of us were ever there before but had a high school buddy who just moved there. We had the best time of our lives. And we left out the wrong gate. It was on opposite side of our parking. As we walked around we got stopped by security guards. They said we had to wait as the helicopters were about to take off. I watched as they flew off. Then by time we got to car…..we heard. That changed my life. We drove home and stopped on beach of Lake Michigan. We just sat there for hours…..just hearing the notes played the night before over and over again. Miss SRV to this day

Heh, I’m far too young to beat any of these stories but I first heard Pride and Joy when I was watching back recording of my parents marriage with them (my parents are both huge into rock), I never really understood it until I started playing guitar, since then my goal in life has been to carry on the legacy of Stevie and Jimi and all the greats. Hopefully one day I can visit his grave to pay my respects. Rest in Peace Stevie, I wish I could’ve met you, hopefully I can make you proud

Stevie was mainly a full fledged, driving a nail into wood with a sledge hammer type of player, but when he toned it down, you heard a different side of him. That bit from about 1:25 to 2:30 is such a different side of his playing, amazing

Yeah, even though I got to see him play several times that experience stands out. There was a real treat seeing the Fabulous Thunderbirds (original lineup) in a small renovated movie house. It was Christmas time and they had a few guests sit in. Buddy Guy, Albert Collins and more. But the real treat was they all came back onstage after the closing encore and did an hour long set of Christmas tunes. Just great.

As a young teen guitarist, it's sort of upsetting to me that all of the guitar gods, especially blues ones, have already died or about to come to that age. I would've loved to meet them and tell them how much they mean to me and music. :P
this version will forever have a special place in my heart, i may have not gone through a divorce but i've gone through my biggest heartbreak as a young man. i keep my fingers crossed that before i die ill be able to come back to this version and smile, today i still grieve in my depression but thats alright, its alright because it has to be alright, else i wouldn't be living.
