I know that these interviews are hard for Shanell and her siblings, which is why we dont hear from them a lot, so i just want to thank all of them for doing so much to shed light in the dark places.
Former mormon here too, thanks Scannell for sharing here. I hope for healing for you and your family, and for the messed up abuse to stop. Keep moving forward!
@@jcldctt - That’s not at all what I was saying, as no child should be put in the situation Shannell was, as parentification is traumatic and destructive. @@liseklerekoper2441I get what you mean. She was denied a childhood, and when straight into work and parenting her siblings (and mother in some ways) while being abused by many. She had no choice but to grow up fast, BUT I know 100% that I would not have ended up as a functioning adult if I had been in her shoes. There’s a special fire inside her that was never extinguished, and that’s what I impressed me so much when watching the show, about her and her sisters.
It baffles me how it's always "have as many children as you can" and not as many as you actually can handle.. and then at some point ever kid is parentified and taking care of the younger siblings, and that has so many ramifications on their development that it actually makes sense in the sense that this formula does amount to having more control because no one ever learns how to think for themselves or has experienced moments where they could just exist in the moment.
I believe it is the more kids a man has the closer to God he will be, women are just the baby making machines for the men to get closer to God, not actually about loving, caring or supporting the children and the women are all so brain washed to believe that this is the way.
it's gross and selfish. instead of considering how to give a potential child a good life or whether you actually want to be a parent or should be a parent given your personal circumstances, the state of the world, etc. people are brainwashed into thinking that's the only option for them when they become adults and they're failures if they don't pop out offspring. it's not just a religious thing either it's a society thing.
Yes, it’s never been about the kids (or wives) themselves, but what they represent in terms of social, spiritual, and financial status. The only way for it to be maintained is for the kids and wives to believe it’s all God’s will.
I cannot imagine being younger than 10 years old and realizing you as a CHILD are a better caretaker for your siblings because of the abuse/neglect inflicted upon them from others. Parentification is bad enough, but to that extreme has to be SO damaging. The way so many children have had their childhoods ripped away from them is utterly heartbreaking. It's infuriating so many of these groups are allowed to continue under the guise of "religious freedom" and no state prosecutors/agencies/etc have the balls to take them down in spite of countless testimonies of harm caused. In my mind at least, it's really easy to draw a line in the sand where a right to religion ends and I can't wrap my head around why groups like this can operate unchecked. It's insane.
unfortunately, the people who run these, tend to have higher connections in government than they truly want us to know, and we would probably be horrified be the answer.

I am so proud of all those people you had interview with. They are the strongest people I know 🙏🏽 It’s amazing that you are bringing an awareness to this . And I will definitely hope and pray that all of this nonsense will come to an end soon.
Former mainstream Mormon here. I was literally shunned for supporting the LGBTQ. Because you know, Jesus loved everyone, how dare I be like Jesus. Also, I drank coffee, and there was literally an intervention from the relief society president. That’s when I said “imma getting out of here” never looked back.
European here. What I never get is why Mormons can't drink tea or coffee, but eating fast food, all this processed food we don't even have, the "oversugared" and "overfat" candy seems to be no problem.
A few notes, and I know you ladies know this, but for everyone else's clarity: ALL poverty is unnecessary. It's not immoral to *be* poor, but our work is so wealthy and interconnected that those in power *could* end poverty, but choose not to. *That* is evil and immoral. Children are not *married* at 14, they are *sex trafficked* at 14. Children cannot consent. People in their *early twenties* can barely consent, as our brains don't fully mature til our mid twenties.
Poverty through no fault of your own could likely be minimized, however not all people in poverty are that way without their own fault and honestly if you were the person having to pay for others, especially those that are in dire straits because they are making horrible choices I imagine you’d be less generous. Agree or not with the choices others make with their money, it’s not your money.
I completely agree with your usage of "sex trafficking" for teens pressured into marriage, and your point about poverty being solvable! However, the idea that your brain "doesnt fully mature until your mid twenties" is a common misconception. Your brain never stops developing and changing. It is never "done." And there is a lot of variation in when different people mature to a point where they are ready to decide about marriage. Teens shouldn't get married for sure, but beyond that, I have trouble with the notion that young adults can't consent. You have to be allowed to make your own decisions at some point, otherwise you don't learn anything. And it's dangerous to claim that young adults are, by default, biologically incapable of making mature decisions. Shanell was mature enough to get out on her own and leave the cult, and get married again. If society starts saying young adults can't consent, what are you going to do with cases like hers? Return her to her abusive community? Place her into a conservatorship under a stranger who may not care about her? No. She had some support, but she was ultimately trusted to make her own choices. That is important.
Just food for thought poverty as we know it today is unnatural, being poor however is not, basically poverty kills, being poor is livable but not easy, like most of my family has been poor but never impoverished, need to save money? They'd grow what food they could, something is broken repair it, basically from a historical perspective most people have always been poor but it doesn't guarantee a bad life, poverty seems to create nothing but
Loved Escaping Polygamy show. Such brave young women helping the others escape. Wife and i watched every episode and live right by where a lot of it was filmed in Utah
OMG shannel is the best and Val is awesome sauce ❤❤ shannel doesn't play she stood up to her father if you can call him that to protect her siblings I love her watched her and Val live last night
Over 200 kids. Wow. The mind boggles. So glad to hear from Shanell again. After Val's interview I went back and rewatched the series. I think she's talking about a kind of classism. I love her strength and her drive to offer freedom to any who want it.
As a liberal easterner living temporarily in southern Utah I still forget! My kid’s friend with 2 moms was born fundamentalist and lives with his biological mom and biological aunt who were both married to his (now deceased) biological father. When I met the moms (jeans and t-shirts and such) I initially thought the moms were married to each other.
Even when I first started reading this post with "two moms" my brain went to lesbians not sisterwives lol that has to be quite interesting being in such a different environment.
Hearing the way Shannell's mother spoke about Daniel it sounds like the classic abuse victim who says the beating was her fault & she's thankful he's still with her. It's sad & very sick.
I’m listening to her describe the kids digging through discarded food is so subhuman and so disrespectful, yet her bio-dad had some 180+ children, and he left them to “survive” by digging through heaps of discarded food!!! Wow!! What a POS human this Daniel is! He should be jailed and casterated first!! Then let the prisoners know what he did, and let them take of this scumbag!!
Just found you. As a Christian pastor, former attorney & emotional intelligence life coach & author, I want to congratulate you for what you are doing here. Absolutely priceless work you are doing for humanity and for God Himself who created us with freedom of choice. Thank you. To you & your guests. Particularly for using your personal pain to share, warn & encourage others. As someone coming from a very abusive & dysfunctional background, I know it takes courage. So my hat off to you!
I was amazed with all the brave smart women on Escaping Polygamy. I was bummed when the show ended. Shannell is a rock star! I'm hoping one of these women writes a book.
I would definitely read that book! I also really hope that the success of the Shiny Happy People docuseries will inspire the big streaming platforms to make/pick up more documentaries about different groups
Shannell, the climbing plant analogy is absolutely brilliant. The Monstera plant (I think) behind you is gorgeous and so are you. Thank you for your courage to expose the cult you grew up in. I wish the best for you in your future.
Know something funny, shanell wasn't the only one eavesdropping❤ i had a headset walkie-talkie that would pick up the Frequency from mom's cordless phone😅😂. Thats how i discovered i was the spawn of Satan/Daniel.
I remember I read the book The Chosen One by Carol Lynch Williams when I was in middle school. That was my first exposure to the concept of polygamy/FLDS. Then in my last year of high school Escaping Polygamy came out and it truly pushed me into wanting to know as much as I could about the lives and survivors of these cults and high demand religions. I want to be a trauma focused therapist one day (working on my bachelors rn) and stories like Shanell’s along with my own traumas keep me pushing through school. Keep fighting the good fight Shanell! The work you’re doing is vital
Anyone who has escaped a cult or high control group is so brave. Im so proud of all the guests who come on to this channel and Shelise for platforming these incredible people. The work she’s doing and the work these guests are doing is so incredible and important.
After hearing this story, I can't imagine how hard it must've been to leave everything you've ever known. It takes an insurmountable amount of courage to leave and even more to speak so openly about the experience. I pray you find/have found the peace and love you have always deserved.
I always pray for all the people I saw on Escaping Polygamy what an incredible show… I wish they would do a follow up special. I’m so glad they are all doing well.
Finally here early! This isn't a cult in definition, but would you ever consider interviewing people who went through abuse troubled teen industry stuff? I went through 3 months of wilderness therapy and there is so much horrific abuse that happens to kids there. Would be nice to give some of these people a voice. Many programs are beginning to shut down due to people speaking out!
No offense to you but it is by definition a cult "a relatively small group of people having religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange or sinister."
@@SHARON.I I wasn't referring to the topic of the video not being a cult, I was referring to wilderness therapy and troubled teen industry stuff not technically being cults. At least the ones I know of or went to had no religious affiliation. Some are but the big industry ones you can get insurance to cover as mental health treatment aren't religious from my knowledge.
What an amazing little badass baby she was! So glad her and at least some of of her family are safely away from these monsters. I hope y'all can keep healing and thriving ❤
Daniel makes me so angry. All the best to you Shanelle. So brave to do this in public, and and so generous. You look after yourself! You deserve it as much a any of those you help ❤
I love Shanell and all the girls from Escaping Polygamy. 💕 it’s been fun seeing her on Val’s channel and now here…it’s been a minute since she’s been on anywhere. 💓 Thanks for this interview.
Thank you for sharing Shanelle! Your show helped me process some of the ideals I had been brainwashed with under the SSPX. I’m so happy you got out and for all the work you’ve done in helping others escape.
Girl I love shanell. Thanks for having her on. I’m watching now as I type this but I signed onto TH-cam and saw this and I was like whatttt so I’m so excited!!!! She is so inspiring. I saw escaping polygamy after it aired. And Escaping polygamy helped opened my eyes some to what was going on in my family home and that show was the start of me leaving my narcissistic family cult. So thanks for having her on 🥰 excited to watch now. Okay bye for now!❤ ps you’re my favorite Shelise ❤
Hey Shelise ! Hey Shanell ! Awesome show. Never Mormon, the behavior of these super cultic mormon leaders is straight up malovent malicious, pernicious narcissism. I am so HAPPY you both got out and are safe and free. I listen because it is so encouraging and positive to see the smiles on all your faces. Shelise your work is so vital to the health and freedom of all the people who are still struggling and suffering in this bondage.
I really loved the show "Escaping Polygamy" I wish that there were more seasons to that show. I love Shanell and her sisters, they did such good work!! Maybe if we all send a barrage of messages to TLC (?) or Hulu, they'll bring the show back!! 😉🙃 Thanks so much Shalise for having Shanell on your podcast.
It’s so interesting when you get multiple viewpoints from those who lived in these situation together!! Shanell, you are an absolute badass! The intensity in which you conveyed things.. props to you for reclaiming your story. We love that you’re sassy. We love that you’re a rebel. Keep fighting back, your strength is a gift that so many deserve, LET IT ALL OUT SISTER!! KEEP LETTING YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!👏
All love to Shanell. Hope to hear more of her story as you interview with kindness and compassion , allowing truth to be told at a pace suited to the indivdual , while drawing out the important issues.
47:43 It's very nice of Shanell to call him 'Daniel' when there's a whole host of four-letter words available. I won't list them, but you can use your imagination.
Great interview! Was so good to learn more of Shannel's journey after seeing her on Escaping Polygamy some years ago So pleased you are doing another interview with her!.
I visited Tijuana, Mexico, the border with San Diego, California, and kids as young as 7 are often making dinner and going out to sell homemade goodies. The money they make usually goes to buy food for the family -while the dad probably works in the fields or is drunk and the mom is busy having more kids.
Deep breath. Ok this one left me almost speechless but good grief Shanell you are 100% an amazing goddess/rockstar/badass and I love your brain and being so much. The steel spine I see in Val must be a family trait holy crow. So happy to see you glowing and thriving on Val’s channel last night. Much love to both of you!
Please don’t feel ashamed as you did nothing to choose that life. You were a child & had no ability to choose because of that. The adults, your parents or caregivers, were responsible & they failed you. Shame does not survive in the dark, so please talk about your experiences w/ people you can trust now. It will slowly help that shame decrease.
It wasn't the real you who did those things. It was an indoctrinated and very confused cult personality. You're not doing it anymore so that is the amends. Nothing to forgive, it's all good now. Don't beat up past you that didn't know. Welcome past you home into the you, you are now with hard won wisdom.
Sounds like that merch Shelise keeps teasing about making “sorry for what I said when I was in a cult” on a shirt. I was raised Roman Catholic and ended up homophobic enough I didn’t realize I was bisexual until I was in college. We all end up suffering when people teach us the wrong things. You worked with what you had and now you can do better!
whether you grew up in it or were sucked into it, that's not your fault....the reason these cults continue to exist is because they are good at manipulating people
Thank you for sharing your story Shannel. You deserve so much love and support and kindness. I’m so sorry for what you’ve been through and I wish you all the good things in life
I felt for Shanell during this interview, its clear that she struggled sometimes for the words to express her ideas. I'm sure that came from Daniel not wanting his children to be educated. In your part 2 I would love for you to go into how Shanell escaped. I don't recall her story being discussed a lot on the show. I remember that her husband was her cousin and that he was abusive and I remember the episode at her sister's wedding, where Shanell confronted her uncle and got him to admit that he wasn't there for her like he should have been. I don't remember if she discussed who helped her escape or what age she escaped. Did she already have any kids with him when she escaped? Is she still helping people escape the Order and also, how is her mom doing? When the show ended, she was still moving from place to place with her kids because she couldn't find a job.
It’s absolutely mind boggling that the men in the family talk SO much smack about how good you women and children need to be, when it’s the MEN that are stealing the income of their own families, treating them terribly, and essentially forcing their CHILDREN into incestuous relationships 🤢 They have everything backwards. They’re straight up evil. I’m so happy that you made it out of that nonsense! 💜 I really hope that every single person that’s still wrapped up in it will eventually see the light and that whole messed up system will fall apart.
They have tried, most recently in the raid in Texas against the FLDS. It was so mishandled they got most of the children back. Even where the children have been abused, they're often put back into the groups
I'd love to know more about how the elderly are cared for in the Order. In other polygamist sects, women are almost "put out to pasture" once they can no longer have children. Is it the same in the Order?
They're not, there was an episode around an elderly man with parkinsons who wasn't being cared for at all. Once you're no longer useful, you're worthless
Yes, in this cult. One of the young women in The Order & on the TV show, Escaping Polygamy, visited their grandfather who had dementia & multiple health issues. He was left alone in a room every day & medications were not prioritized. It was so sad & horrific to see. Not sure if this is the same in all polygamous cults though.
I saw the episode with Shanell’s mothers home. Daniel was a slum lord over his own family. Daniel treated Shanell’s family horribly. Even the food pantry if I remember correctly had bugs. It’s outrageous that Utah allows the banking, the housing and poverty to go on as if it’s not happening. It’s all over these TV shows and all the TH-cam information out there. Daniel should be in jail for embezzlement just on the banking and that’s without how many children these men have that are supposed to help them get to heaven yet they don’t have their names on birth certificates because they can’t afford them. This leads to welfare fraud.
Thank you for bravely sharing your story with the world. It is so kind to help people see the truth and put your privacy to the side. May you find a supportive community
It’s so backwards that he’s trying to “parent” and “discipline” the kids when they’re not even allowed to know he’s their father. How confusing would that be for a little kid.
hi Shelise .. I've been watching your content for a few months .. I just wanted to say - Thank You - for your braveness and valuable information. As a former member of a cult like ministry, I can relate to so much of the heart wrenching stories of your guest. Please keep On Shining 💖
The strength and resilience that you and your sister had to not only escape but to help others escape and to courageously be able to talk about it. I know it drummed up horrible memories. Your past did not define you in your present life. God, give continued strength not only to the ones that escaped, but also to the others who want to get out but are terrified to do so. Thank you for telling your story.
I grew up in a town full of Born Agains. My gods , talk about a group of judgmental people. I literally had kids call me a witch. Tell me I’m wrong and going to hell. Strange experience.
I'm so happy to see the people from the show that got me into learning about cults coming onto this show! So good to see Shanell after all these years!!
I'm so glad I watched this video, I had no idea who you are and I wasn't sure what I thought and the title doesn't give you wonderful ladies justice. Congratulations and I wish you a wonderful life together ❤️💗
I’ve listened to a lot of these stories of abuse but this was some of the most terrible and most sad. I’m so sorry you had to experience that Shanell! I feel bad for your mom but also angry that she didn’t get you out of that situation.
Dear shanell you are beautiful and a bright spark I am glad that you have gotten out of there don't let anyone turn off your bright spark you will be loved and cared for by God big hugs and much support to you 😅❤😅 6:44
Former AUB here, as bad as it may sound but I'm glad that I got into trouble when I did as a kid. Even though I had already been through hell growing up in the AUB. Was raised to fear any type of uniform whether it be police, firefighter, emt/paramedic, etc. Didn't matter, if it wasn't someone in the church, the person couldn't be trusted. And yeah, I had to take care of the younger kids as well as nieces and nephews ontop of the other siblings.
Shanell was my favorite on Escaping Polygamy. Everyone on there was so brave and kind, but what I always remember most about the show was Shanell running into that house to get Melanie out.
I'm glad you give people a chance to talk about their story in a safe comfortable place. Thank you for this. I also think that polyamoury shouldn't be illegal unless it's forced. I personally have been in many healthy and happy polyamoury relationships
Polyamory is much different in the sense that women may also have multiple consenting partners. From what I’ve seen in the ethical non monogamous communities, all parties are adults and many boundaries are in place to make sure everyone is comfortable. Polygamy only benefits the man and unfortunately it’s very common to have child brides, coercion, abuse and neglect.
Every time a country tries to legalize polygamy under religious freedom or some other idea, it goes bad and they end up having to retract the law. Religious freedom should not represent a freedom to harm others or flout the law. Honestly, I would get the government out of marriage in every way possible for everyone but then put more funding in preventing child abuse, child brides, and family trafficking if I could wave a wand for these people. Polyamory, open marriages, homosexuality, and any kind of reasonable kink inside a group of consenting adults shouldn't necessarily require government attention. Basically the standard for the laws should be twofold: does this behavior cause harm to society and does making this behavior illegal reduce the harm to society or increase it in the long term? And harm can be measured. So think about things like polygamy in that light. Some polyamorous unions may be polygamous or polyandrous but usually it's not forced. Religious polygamous groups coerce polygamy on all of their women. The harm is great in the latter group. One thing I do wonder is if by cracking down on tax evasion, child abuse, and child marriage they could mitigate the harm of polygamy without bothering the people who practice ethical non monogamy.
@@tiryaclearsong421I agree. Gay people should be able to get married and do whatever they want. Just like everyone else. This is a fight close to my heart. Government has no place in marriage. We should focus on protecting the vulnerable in our communities including addicts and unhoused adults.
There's a big difference between poly relationships where everyone is a consenting adult who are getting what they want out of the relationship and can discuss issues openly etc. Then religiously enforced polygamy, especially in such patriarchal groups, the girls are usually so young and rarely get any real choice
@@angelinelauer1042 I agree. It seems a lot of these men just sire a hundred kids and profit off their labor. at $500 per month, per child would put a damper on their ardor.
Technically they are required to pay child support. However, in order to force child support the mothers would have to be willing to cooperate with the state.
@@angelinelauer1042no one can be forced to take a DNA test without probable cause and in criminal cases, it requires a warrant. Otherwise, it’s a violation of the Fourth Amendment.
I think after 12 children child support is no longer enforced. Freedom of religion is bs in this situation where there are blatant violations of labor, child abuse, incest, rape etc. America will never care though when these cults have members in LEO or in political seats 🙄
I really Commend all of you that are trying or have Escaped those situations you were in that ended up feeling like a prison for whatever reason. You have to choose yourself and your family or a Religious or Belief Group where they expect you to put that 1st over what is best for you and your family❤. If they treat you badly for looking out for what or who is most important to take care of your Mental, Physical, Spiritual and etc. Health; then they don't actually Care or Support you and you deserve much better! So Proud of all of you out there becoming Survivors! I wish you lots of Happiness,, Health, Luv and much needed Peace in your lives.
I'm glad you're bringing lite to this! Child brides has been talked about before. Are they usually the 2nd or 3rd wife? Is that how they can get away with it? Or is it ok, b/c the parents are approving of the marriage? Don't parents have to sign something saying it's ok? You said people have asked why your guests don't just say no. I think you're explaining it well! A part 2 would be great! And it's usually expressed during the episodes, based on their whole story.
Those marriages aren't usually documented at all. The parents usually approve and the kids in question don't know if law enforcement would ever help them
As the commenter above said, anything past the first marriage isn’t documented which is why it’s much harder to investigate/prosecute because according to the law, only one marriage has happened. By legal standards, it’s just one man with one wife and 12+ mistresses, which isn’t illegal
Shanell I love your eyes! Beautiful 😍 I admire your courage and bravery for getting through such a life that we can’t imagine and then coming on here with Shelise to tell your story. I watched Val’s too 🦄 ❤ From the way you were describing your reactions to Daniel, I believe you are strong, defiant in a righteous way and of course very kind, loving and nurturing. I will be looking forward to part 2 to see both you lovely ladies again. ❤️
Joseph Smith was a practitioner in the occult. When he saw the "Angel" Moroni he was actually seeing a demon. If he had truly known the Holy Scripture he would have remembered Galatians 1:8 "For even if an angel from Heaven preaches a gospel different from the one I have given LET HIM BE ACCURSED."
The cults in the United States are sickening. I left my religious upbringing a LONG time ago. I have always been very interested in Cults (since being a teenager). I am so sorry you had to endure what you did as a child. It warms my heart to see you that the younger generations are becoming less religious. Religion, in my opinion has caused a large amount of suffering.
Just so we're all crystal clear on this:
Financial abuse is also abuse.
I was never in a cult, but I did suffer financial abuse while helping somebody
I know that these interviews are hard for Shanell and her siblings, which is why we dont hear from them a lot, so i just want to thank all of them for doing so much to shed light in the dark places.

@@fabigrossi2976 Because they are brainwashed. As more changes come about in our society the less church leaders can keep up with restrictions!
Coffee and tea are old. Most religious rules are old. Fast food is new
A few notes, and I know you ladies know this, but for everyone else's clarity:
ALL poverty is unnecessary.
I could not agree more with everything you've stated! Thank you so much! 🙏💜
Just food for thought poverty as we know it today is unnatural, being poor however is not, basically poverty kills, being poor is livable but not easy, like most of my family has been poor but never impoverished, need to save money? They'd grow what food they could, something is broken repair it, basically from a historical perspective most people have always been poor but it doesn't guarantee a bad life, poverty seems to create nothing but
This!!
I love her attitude!! Sassy and even passive aggressive at times!! (loved the story of her going to say goodbye to Paul instead of Daniel😂)
Shanell is so strong, brave, and dedicated to her cause. She's a blessing to the world
She’s like a real life superhero
Loved Escaping Polygamy show. Such brave young women helping the others escape. Wife and i watched every episode and live right by where a lot of it was filmed in Utah
OMG shannel is the best and Val is awesome sauce ❤❤ shannel doesn't play she stood up to her father if you can call him that to protect her siblings I love her watched her and Val live last night
I heard it was all fake? By other people from that group that’s gotten our years ago ..

Kids know so much more than what adults think, we need to keep these children safe.
Just found you. As a Christian pastor, former attorney & emotional intelligence life coach & author, I want to congratulate you for what you are doing here. Absolutely priceless work you are doing for humanity and for God Himself who created us with freedom of choice. Thank you. To you & your guests. Particularly for using your personal
pain to share, warn & encourage others. As someone coming from a very abusive & dysfunctional background, I know it takes courage. So my hat off to you!
To all the guests: you are some of the strongest and bravest people I have ever seen, I applaud you all, may you all find peace in your lives.
Shanelle is amazing to not only have come through what she has but then help others get out
I was amazed with all the brave smart women on Escaping Polygamy. I was bummed when the show ended. Shannell is a rock star! I'm hoping one of these women writes a book.
Me too. I wish they'd bring it back! 😅 🫶
Thank you! Yes, it's a Monstera.
Know something funny, shanell wasn't the only one eavesdropping❤ i had a headset walkie-talkie that would pick up the Frequency from mom's cordless phone😅😂. Thats how i discovered i was the spawn of Satan/Daniel.
VAL! 😂😂😂 you little deviant you! 😈🦄🙌
😂 spawn of Satan 😂 love it, personally I feel like his name is like bloody Mary or beetle juice, his ass will just pop up
Love Shanell. Thank you for having her on.

Such a beautiful person should have never been abused 💛 I hope she knows how truly valuable she is.
Yes! I’m gonna thank Val for the intro and maybe mildly convincing her to come on 😁
Thank you for sharing Shanelle!

Love you videos! You have given so many people a platform to help others!!
Thank you so much!
Thank you!
I was in a cult. It was psychologically and socially damaging. When I think back to the things I said to people, I'm so ashamed!
You worked with what you had and now you can do better!
whether you grew up in it or were sucked into it, that's not your fault....the reason these cults continue to exist is because they are good at manipulating people
Thanks 💫
Thank you for sharing your story Shannel. You deserve so much love and support and kindness. I’m so sorry for what you’ve been through and I wish you all the good things in life
I love Shanell's personality! The sass and observativeness
Shalise, I discovered your podcast just this week. What a blessing you are! You are so kind and thoughtful. I'm a fan for sure! Jennie
Oh wow! That’s great! Welcome to C2C! Thanks for being here and supporting ❤️
Thanks 🥰
YESSSSS Ive been looking for an update from Shanell. We miss you honey!!
The state should remove all underaged persons from these polygamous sects.
They have tried, most recently in the raid in Texas against the FLDS. It was so mishandled they got most of the children back. Even where the children have been abused, they're often put back into the groups
And the US state should stop murdering children in other countries .
I agree
Can't wait for part two ❤
Shenelle you are such a strong person❤ I cried with/for you in escaping polygamy❤
The footage of those living conditions were horrific! Daniel is a terrible man.
This girl has so much courage to talk about this! I can't imagine! I have a great relationship with my Dad, I really feel for her!
On the other hand, certain influencers and politicians blame divorcees for denying a father from their children.

Is polyamory illegal? I thought only polygamy was illegal.
Would making these men pay child support stop polygamy?
I think dna testing for child support would change the entire abortion issue, as well.
Shanell’s strength has always been so inspiring to me however I hate that she had to go thru what she did and it is not fair.
I can't help to think this being in the medical field... How many STD'S AND STI'S are being passed around?
I watched Val’s too 🦄 ❤
From the way you were describing your reactions to Daniel, I believe you are strong, defiant in a righteous way and of course very kind, loving and nurturing.
Did you have to go there with a revered figure in a major Christian religion?
@@aasiyapowell875 the truth is the truth! I can't help if he's a revered figure or not. He was a practitioner of the dark arts.
That's why I consider myself a religicist. AKA prejudice about religion.
I'm pretty sure I made that word up. Feel free to share!
Omg having watched her later interviews, it's like seeing a superhero's backstory!!
These women are amazing! Shalise, I appreciate your kindness with everyone you speak with.
