They lack the "man power" to respond to crimes properly, but can take the time to harass a bus driver that insulted a baby cop by blowing their horn at him. We have a problem. Love to our Metro drivers!

Are you crazy. They went after the cop for a phone call and private conversation. Turned it into an international incident with the govt of India. The reason cops are pulling back is because of all the oversight and the hate from the media. Example. Who is this woman giving a biased opinion in the story. Seriously, who is she and what are her credentials. She did exactly what the media wanted her to do. Media hates cops.
The cop should be fired. He cut off a bus which could have had fatal consequences for everyone on board. Then he went on a power trip. He needs gone.

You came to this conclusion based on what? The bus drivers word? You have no idea what actually happened and really should not be calling for anyone to be fired without video of the traffic incident.
@RedWaveGraphics I trust the bus driver before I would ever trust a lying cop. Cops lie from the day they swore an to uphold and defend our constitution. Go to any cop and ask them, what are the bill of rights. That will prove my point.

But you can see and hear both parties explaining their sides and you can clearly hear the cop say im arresting you for obstructing and im pulling you over for "road rage" , that alone is enough to see the guy is full of ****@thereissomecoolstuff
@@mh7067 you heard an edited version. Do you think it happened that fast. They got the radio call from the BD to his dispatcher. That was edited in. We didn’t see the dash cam of either vehicle. I can’t imagine a cop fing with a bus full of people unless there was an overt maneuver. Personally F the buses. Have you driven downtown lately. They have 3rd Ave and bus lanes 24/7 even when there aren’t any buses. I have been cutoff numerous times by metro drivers. I periodically ride metro and I can say these are some of the worst bus drivers in the country. The accelerate and stop way to hard for unsecured passengers. We did not have the whole story. If you’re willing to convict with anything less than the unedited version you are a true Seattleite. A cop hating one at that.

This is what happens when a police department has to hire candidates too quickly to perform properly psych checks on prospective candidate and then not have enough time to counter the character flaws through proper training. This video is a stunning visual example of public safety's biggest obstacle to overcome- police getting too big for their britches and allowing their positions of authority to go their heads.
What did you see in this video that led you to that conclusion? I saw a cop hit piece. I only saw one side of the story.

I live in Seattle, this cop has been disciplined multiple times in the past.

Bus driver- your agency will , pun intended, throw you under the bus to appease the police department, so consider this a blessing in disguise. leave for another agency and collect the hiring bonus. Much easier to dole out free taxpayer money than admit the cop acted like a child.

It's a dangerous job that takes a lot of patience and understanding. Seattle is incredibly expensive to live in so wages have to be higher there for people to survive unless you want to live on the street. $100,000 to keep society moving and deal with full grown dangerous and entitled people is fair. I think I would gladly take a $10,000 pay cut to be a garbage man.

I can understand the request for increase in salary, but NO WAY with these kinds of employees/roles should the accountability policies be rolled back. In my healthcare practice, I encountered many city and county employees, from cops to mayors. You'd know exactly which cops would behave this way in their jobs, just from the attitude they carried with them even as a patient. I used to shudder (figuratively) wondering how these guys are being given incredible power over citizens.
Bigoted projection is something new in healthcare. Imagine if you publically said that about minorities or the LGBTQIA. Please share your practice location. Your comment and bias should have you explaining your position. Everybody gets a badge today. There aren’t enough cops.. can’t imagine why or how pleasant it must be for your cop patients to see the disdain you have for them in your eyes. After all you just know how they act.
@@thereissomecoolstuff I don't why my statement was misunderstood. Nowhere do I say, every city employee behaved that way. There was a small clear handful of cops who brought this type of attitude. I have had superb interactions with every other cop, firefighter and even mayor. Not one attitude from them. Just normal decent behavior. My point is that there will always be a minority of people w power who will abuse it. That's why accountability policies should remain not only to protect ALL of us but also to provide cover for the "good" majority of cops to be able to speak up when they see bad apples.

Dang. I only got one side of the argument. I have no idea what the driver said or get a good sense of his tone. Going to have to rule this unsubstantiated “False” . For a cop to hassle with a bus with riders on it had to be more than alleged. There will be dash cam footage.

Driver's "tone" literally doesn't matter. What matters is the reason for this encounter in the first place. If all the bus driver did was honk his horn at the cop, then that is not a valid reason for a traffic stop and this detainment is illegal and a Fourth Amendment violation. The fact that you think someone's tone can change whether or not they've had their rights violated tells me all I need to know. 😂
@@bazuukajoekame did you get all of the investigative information? Did you get the dash cam of the bus and cop car. Did you get any witness statements from anyone not on the bus. No you didn’t, nor do you care. As long as it’s negative about the cops you’re ok with injustice.
More money should be MORE accountability, not less. Look, I don’t envy the job of a police officer, but let’s be honest. People attracted to the job are often in search of power. Once in the position, many of them abuse it. Some in small ways, others in big ways. No matter what, though, all ways undermine their own authority in the long run. This officer should be fired immediately because he doesn’t show that he can control his own reactions.

As someone who used to be a Seattle bus rider, it'd be easy for me to believe this driver did something worth reprimand. For a long time Seattle Metro was the subject of a lot of scrutiny,...then defund the police came along and stole the spotlight.
I am not saying all the bus drivers. but some bus drivers drive like a F1 driver.They do whatever they want since there is a yield sign on the back of the bus.

The bus driver said he has it on video of this clown cutting him off. Once he said that this clown should have left it alone, but no he has to go on a power trip and stop people from getting to where they need to go.

The bus driver probably just pulled out without looking. So many city buses do that. There should be car dash camera from the police car, show that so we can get the full story not just some random cellphone and bus driver police call.

The exact same thing happened to me about 30 yrs ago in Renton. A beater car tried to cut me off, I hit the gas and got in front of him.
He took out a starkly & hutch magnetic light and, while driving placed it on top of his car. I got $125 ticket. Jerk.
