I know people are roasting Rachel, but she did do her best to change and she genuinely became a better person. And she didn't choose to grow up rich and spoiled. But she did choose to become a more well rounded individual. So instead of saying she deserves it and is a bad person. I'll say kudos to Rachel for becoming a better person.

But to go this far into the show without taking out the trash was not very nice of her, and she did see him just unclog it, so not pushing down all the way was just a pansy move... So the roast was earned there

0:58 was one of Jennifer's best physical comedy bits of the whole series. It always makes me laugh.
Okay, who else sides with Mr. Treeger in this scene. Granted his tone of voice was harsh, but think about from his perspective. Guy works as a janitor job cleaning up, making sure the place is in order. But he has to spend most of his day cleaning up after other people who don't through away their thing properly. He just spent an hour de-clogging the trash shoot Then Rachel comes in and clogs a the trash shot with a pizza box. He then what's she's doing but instead of realizing that she should properly dispose the pizza box. She offers him days old already eaten pizza.
Plus, I'm sorry, but Rachel had it coming. Being roommates means you have to share clean up responsibility. You can't just leave trash around and except someone else to clean it up.
No need say you’re sorry. Rachel *did* have it coming. I found her sooooo annoying when I watched Friends the first time and really could not understand why anyone liked Rachel and wanted to wear their hair like her. Even Phoebe at her ditziest was cooler than her.
Rachel is not responsible and is so spoiled. Monica takes care of her

@Dan Luo Rachel is not that bad. She just hasn't taken out the trash because circumstances never necessitated, not on purpose of using others. Empathy seems to be ephemeral and myopic with most people.
Treeger is my inner voice whenever I enter the garbage room and discover the mess other tenants have left behind.
The only person in the show who understood "true nature" of Rachel & made her realise she can always think of herself

You dont laugh at someone for having bad chess skills on hot party do you.. no you do it at chess club etc. If you go out naked on public streets everybody will tell you get clothes or call cops. This cold open was quite funny - Rachel usually does not help around the apartment and Treeger is mostly tolerant of the group's shenanigans. Guess he was just having a bad day. But he could been kinder towards Rachel.
Why? He spent the entire day clearing out the trash chute and Rachel comes in and blocks up the chute again right in his face.
Imagine if you spent the entire day mopping up the floor to just have Rachel come in and dirty up the floor again walking around with muddy shoes.

yeah, it was the first time but not the most epic one!! The most epic one was when Dr. House himself (Hugh Laurie) said to Rachel - when sitting next to her on the plane to London, and listening to her story about how she loves Ross and is planning to tell him she loves him just before his wedding - that she is an awful, awful person. 😂And Dr.House always knows what the correct diagnosis is. 🤣

I googled Mr. Treeger to find out the actor's name and the movies in which he appeared because I've seen him in several movies. I found out that the actor, Mike Hagerty, died in May of 2022. RIP Mike Hagerty.

I had a book titled Rachel's tears. It is a non fictional book about this girl , named Rachel who attended Columbine high school and got killed during a shooting that took place. At one church that we went to years ago they had this event called Bible quizzing. It is competing with other churches, with learning scripture. Sometimes before the sermon at church we would meet and go over Bible verses and sometimes after the sermon we would meet and go over bible verses. Any Bible verses that we went over then would get asked when we had meetings with other churches. We all would sit in chairs then jumped when there was a question asked about how you would finish a Bible verse. Any way at one practice meeting , where it was just us for Bible quizzing there was a verse in scripture that mentioned Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted because they are no more. My brother looked at me and said Rachels tears. I caught on what he was getting at. There was that book that I had read called Rachels tears. Now there was something mentioned that would have that thought along with it. This piece of scripture was something that could remind me of that one book. Right now if I were to make a list of things to come to mind with the words Rachels tears, There is that book that would come first, that one piece of scripture to come next and now this clip from friends is something to come third. There is a movie about Rachel Scott the girl that Rachel's tears is about. The title of the movie is I'm not ashamed. I suggest watching it . I am wondering if there is anyone who will watch I'm not ashamed after reading my comments. I also wonder if anyone will comment here and tell me about it. I am thinking that the movie is something we could talk about sometime. I also suggest reading Rachel's tears. There is something else for other

I know this is just a show but why couldn't Rachel just ask Mr. Treeger to help her to throw away the big box of pizza in the trash instead of showing him the pizza of what it looks like? If I were Rachel, I would have asked Mr. Treeger to help me with throwing away the big box of pizza. That way Mr. Treeger would have hurt Rachel's feelings and make her cry.

It’s kinda concerning how many people think he was right for talking to her the way that he did. Yes, she shouldn’t have did that, but when you think about how she was raised she never knew about any of that stuff before and it’s not like she was purposely being an asshole, she genuinely didn’t see the problem. He could’ve just kindly explained it to her and she would’ve apologized and did it better. When you watch the show she always tried to do better, like when she learned how to do laundry for the first time. There was no reason for insulting her like that.
