The fact that Rachel came onto Ross and knew it and tried to make it look like it was his fault makes this scene so satisfying
It made me hate rachel a bit. This kind of charactaristic is a sign of narcissist.
Her ego is just solo HUGE!

I loved that this story came around full circle -- and Joey was in the center of it by telling the backpacking story to Ross to help Ross end his "dry spell "and then admitting to Monica & Chandler that he uses the pseudonym "Ken Adams" to avoid people while suggesting that the couple's new friends were doing the same.
Such a brilliant episode, definitely my favourite
This episode is so well-written, definitely top 5 considering it's only the 6 friends interacting with each other.
Funny how Rachel doesn’t get any stick from the others for lying about this

While she may have started to try to get him to sleep with him she literally hadn’t said or done enough to warrant his reaction thus her assuming he came onto her is correct.
Once she knew he knew the story only then can she change her mind.
Common sense
The whole time rachel knew she came onto Ross. Yet for no good reason lies to her friends and tries to make Ross look bad. Ross, knowing the truth and that at least Joey knows the Europe story, acts like a saint and gives Rachel an out.
Not only does she not take it, but she tries to humiliate Ross.
The episode showed it was Rachel who was far more toxic then ross
You know that's why I find it weird that people hate ross so much but no one even calls Rachel out for anything

Why doesn’t Rachel apologize for the lies and using it to belittle him (yet again)? Rewatching friends bc I used to love it but as I’ve gotten older & understand respect and love I’m finding it a lot harder to ignore the blatant disrespect of supposed friends to get to the laughs. There are some episodes I have to skip now bc it’s not funny- like for the 100th time Rachel acts like Ross, who is an intelligent, kind, well established (he’s a professor at a great school and a world renowned museum), attractive man is beneath her because what, she was popular in high school and pretty? She keeps using the fact that he’s been in love w her and his kindness and I’m sick of it.

Rachel may have a point.
Yes she used the story with the intention of seducing Ross. Within 5 seconds of her starting the story, apparently Ross said something inviting and within 10 seconds he kissed her. From her point of view, the story couldn’t have had an effect. So to her, she did have the intention of ‘coming onto Ross’ and was beginning to make a move, but she hasn’t done it yet and it was Ross that really got things going, not her.
Ross said that she was ‘begging’ to have something happen and that she was ‘sending signals all over the place’. It really wouldn’t make sense from her perspective, because she wouldn’t have thought the beginning of that story would work as a signal.
At the end of the day, story or not, both of them wanted it and that’s why it happened. For any of them to act like the other one was ‘begging’ and they were less interested was childish. But Rachel wasn’t necessarily as dishonest as suggested by some.
