Of all the parents, Dr Green is the complex character with lots of layers to him. Everyone else is mostly one dimensional. That's why Rachel has many layers to her too, and has the most growth out of the friend group.

Rachel was so toxic. Yes Ross made a mistake when he slept w someone else, but he was drunk and upset and they were genuinely on a break (even a stranger on the flight said so). Rachel didn't want him back after that, but she would never allow him to move on either. Bonnie, Mona, Emily, she spoilt all his relationships. She decided she didn't want to be with him, but after he moved on she flew to London to tell him that she loved him? What selfish bs. And she came onto Ross the night they slept together. And lied about it to all her friends, saying he came onto her, when she knew that she did. She was scared to tell her dad about pregnancy here, but why did she blame ross? Ross offered to marry her. What if Ross had got his parents to come yell at Rachel because of a lie? She'd have made such a big scene. And she didn't want Ross to date her sister, and broke them up. But she dated Ross's best friend, Joey. (Ross and Joey are way closer than she was to her sister) AFTER she had Ross's baby.Again, imagine if Ross decided to date Phoebe or any of Rachel's best friends after Emma. Rachel would not allow it to happen.
She only wanted him if she couldn't have him. She never wanted to be with him, but she couldn't let him move on either. Toxic af. I'm definitely part of the I HATE RACHEL GREEN CLUB!

The show is funny but Rachel does get carried away, she can be a complete B!

It cracks me up how they string the audience along thinking that Rachel's dad went after the waiter when he actually couldn't have cared less.
Imagine if Dr. Greene had barged into Ross’s apartment yelling *“You got my daughter ‘TiVo’* (with his own air quotes) - *and now you’re not gonna marry her!?!* And this leads to a whole conversation where Ross thinks he literally meant TiVo and isn’t sure why he would’ve paid for her TiVo but is too terrified to point out that Rachel is also pregnant, and Greene just berates him more.
Ross: I mean, since she’s just a few months in she can also just… cancel it.
Greene: What??? How DARE you suggest such a thing!
Ross: Well c’mon, that’s better than paying for it year after year!
Ron Liebman was so good in this role. His facial expressions alone made Dr. Green formidable; never mind his biting dialogue 👌🏼
