Jesperi Kotkaniemi has only managed to score 74 goals in his SM-liiga, AHL and NHL career. Someone was asleep on the job when he was drafted 3rd in the 1st round in the 2018 NHL draft.
Ya think? Here's my take: KK has the talent, but he's really not interested in playing winning hockey. He's content to cash his check and eat pringles.
Y’all gave ur first and second picks for him for free
@@travisturnbull6553 Then we exchanged that 1st for dvorak for free
@@dougiesherwin9591Yeah if he wanted to win he should’ve stayed with MTL lmao
@@Hal-yc9jd You missed the point. Can you read?
Kk is a bust from the moment he got drafted 3rd overall before Tkachuk and Hughes
We all reacted like that lady on draft night
Jesperi was at the right place at the right time, lucky guy
Kotkaniemi really turning it on with 3 points in his last 30 games. Is he a prospect in his 6th season?
If the Habs kept Sergachev and drafted Tkachuk, a 25th banner would be hanging at the bell center.
Sergachev, Kotkaniemi and Tkachuk are all punks.
And carey price's number will be in the rafters without hesitations
for sure, but you cant forget that kk scored some huge goals during that playoff run, especially vs the leafs
You mean Quinn Hughes and then Ottawa drafts KK. 😂😂
OLÉ OLÉ OLÉ OLÉ
KK has been underwhelming in all facets of his game. Habs dodged a bullet on that offer sheet fiasco and the Canes are stuck with a $4.8 million/season benchwarmer. As a Habs fan i cant help but smile.
And....worse yet...Bergevin chose KK over a pedigree player like Brady Tkachuck. No excuse.
For a second I thought this video was claiming Nick Suzuki was a bust
Same here lol, till I remembered his brother was drafted by Carolina
These guys are busts! Zadina and Kakko are busts! You know why? They actually have proced themself. The fact people called Slaf a bust at the start of this season is crazy considering he has 3 goals in 2 games right now. More goals then his first like 35 games.
How is KK still a “prospect?”
Kotkaniemi was always doomed for failure. GoHabsGo 😁
Well MB gave John Anderson a 6.5 million contract, a pretty steep price for an Ice Capade skater but then again Carolina pays a chunk of change for KK who should be on the Ice Capades to.
5.5 M$ /yr * 7 years
Suzuki's highest goal total was 25 in his second last OHL season, which isn't great and then only had 18 in his last season.
KK was a brutal pick. Hughes or tkachuk would have set Montreal up big time. I liked the offer sheet fiasco but Carolina got burnt in the deal.
Canes still doing well. Just imagine of kk gets going.
KK is more a case of misdrafting. Montreal drafting him was more of a wish than an evaluation.
As a habs fan, thanks for paying all that money to take kotkeniemi from us
I take Jesperi Kotkaniemi at 4,8 M$ /yr before Christian Dvorak at 4,5 M$/yr everyday of the week !
Ryan Suzuki to habs for 7th rounder.
Yes, CH fan here. When KK was with us, I loved him. I was so mad to lose him. Since he has not set the Canes on fire, I can help but smirk over my pouting.
It was said maybe the CH pushed him ahead too quickly and put too much pressure on him too early Could be.
Both a bust
Kk isn't a scoring machine. Not taking his side but in Brindamour's system offensive creativity is kinda muted by the rah rah fore check for 60 minutes system they play.....Aho has his stretches where you wouldn't know he was even on the team if not for them mentioning his name. Kk, doesn't give 100%... a 100% of the time. He's more a 75% all the time type guy. Which is gonna get him traded away.
Boo hoo hoo. Frig da canes.
Kotkaniemi is far from a bust. Sure, he hasn’t lived up to expectations, but he’s still a solid 3C with 2C upside. Not what you’re looking for with a top 3 pick, but still a very useful player!
Not what you're looking for in a top 3 picks.
Ain't that a bust?
@@French_Canadian_Pea_Soup he wasnt supposed to be a top 3 pick so its more mtl fault because hes become what ppl saw in him
He was ranked high 1st round. If the best he achieves is "useful player" level. Yeah, he's a bust.
@@dden7670 im sorry but he was a middle to late 1 rounder usually that’s 2 line 3 line player territory
@@jasonlamontagne5429 He was ranked 3 and didn't live up to expectations.
Definitely a bust.
Canes always seem to overhype there prospects and they turn into duds.
Yeah! Aho/Slavin/Pesce/Necas got zero hype and are a hundred miles from busts so WTF are you talking about ? , Svech/Drury/Jarvis where's the busts ? salty illiterate Habs fans who don't realize no one cares about what they did 40- 50-60 years ago will never stop being funny but keep on thinking the hockey world revolves around you and 1967 Toronto and the rest of the Canadian teams who never won sh*it or are 40 years removed from their last championship lol . Maybe Montreal can list all those great prospects they've had over the last 30 years filled with a million busts lol .
@@rosariocannistraro3561 not a scabs fan but go off bum
The prospects that have been hyped haven’t even made it to the NHL yet. Suzuki was never really a hyped prospect.
@@rosariocannistraro3561who blew a 3-1 lead in the third period on a elimination game? Just curious…
sazuki is not a bust.. but he isnt a defensive stopper & he shouldn't be a captain period!!!! now KK on the other hand ?? stop talking about bullcrap & talk about the truth of y the habs suck & have sucked for sometime ( the stanley cup loosing team was also not good but was led by a 4th line veteran forward & played in a soft canada devision ) .... savard !!!!!!!!!!! armia!!!! gallagher!!! devorak!! marty st louie !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! & hughes/gorton/& molson !!!!!! period...............
He’s talking about his brother
ryan suzuki, not nick, who absolutely deserves the C in montreal.
@@doaftheloaf he is our best player!!!! but he isnt mcdavid or gretzky!!! thise two r the only captains who can be soft and not stick up for the teammates especially when the goalie gets run!!!! Suzuki damn sure is not a captain material
@@joeluna5342 so according to your definition sakic, yzerman, and lemieux were shitty captains then.
suzuki is unquestionably the habs’ leader. who would you pick, then?
@@doaftheloaf you dont dare compare sazuki to lemeaux , izerman or sackic.. he is not a superstar .. & when your not a superstar & your a captain , you better lead by example.. & that means protect your players when your on the ice... slavkoski got almost decapitated & caughfield came after the guy suzuki did nothing!!!! montebeau got run & he stood there!!! listen i like suzuki but hated they name him captain.... when habs went to the cup perry was our leader not weber... weber stopped being a captain two years before that.... anderson would probably be a good captain, monahan would have been.. gulie would be my choice!!! with anderson & evans my A's
