    **UPDATE FROM JOHN SCOTT @ JANUARY 24TH, 10AM PST**
    "On my podcast this week I made a false and misleading statement regarding former Blackhawk Corey Perry. It was an off-the-cuff remark that is completely unfounded and not true. It was a poor choice of words and I'll try to be more careful in the future."

      @MisterCautionFact - John Scott said this, why? Legorocks has provided the updated statement from Scott, and kept the content up because it’s another example of how ridiculous this situation is, and that it is surrounded by mystery and questions. What did CP do to be fired? It’s not criminal, we’ve heard that. You think this is new, a player hits on a media employee? Hardly, and it’s certainly not cause for termination. JS is putting out a narrative to protect the truth from being exposed ….

And theyre changing a culture to support their generational talent so best play it tight.
      ..now our generational talent can handle him at his ripe old age and most of us welcome Perry. He knows if he effs up he will be chasticized, and if he does, I will bring the popcorn. GO OILERS!!!

    It’s just surprising that an organization like the Blackhawks does not have corrective measures in place to help their players. I think this puts the Blackhawk’s in a worst light as again it seems they tried to cover it up by terminating the contract. Rather than admit to it and put in corrective measures to help him out, they terminate the player. Not a good look.

    There is at least one major difference between the the Black Hawks organization versus their counterpart in the Oilers organization. Chicago has developed a very thin skin whereby they will do almost anything to avoid any kind of potential controversy which could also be interpreted as a serious weakness. On the other hand, the Oilers have a reputation of giving players a second chance provided that the "controversial" player has owned up to his previous mistake(s) and has taken the proper measures to not repeat the same errors in the future. Therefore, if properly handled, this should be of great benefit to both the player and his new team in the future.

    • @dana102083
      @dana102083 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, but I think its reasonable of the Hawks, without truly knowing the extent of this act.
      Management didn't act fast enough and at what point is it ok to not act... they defermined the risk wasnt worth it. I respect that. Their team/organization is much bigger than that.

    If this is what happened, why didn’t the Hawks just say it instead of dragging Bedard and his mom through the mud? It’s very easy to say a media employee and there’s no expectation that her name would be provided. This is the NHL or the team influencing Scott to make the rumor go away. It’s not going away … The teams handling of it made sure of that.

      The Blackhawks did not "drag Bedard and his mom through the mud". Idiotic morons posting and reposting rumors on social media (TH-cam included) like high schoolers is what dragged them, and Calie Chelios, through the mud. Give the whole thing a rest

      @MisterCautionNo, you’re wrong. The mom’s trip to Nashville was the team’s initiative. Then, they chose to act extremely aggressively towards Perry, and when the rumor dropped, they did nothing to kill it, except speak vaguely. Their actions in many ways created this situation and none of their actions ended it. Hitting on a media personality in the hotel has happened many times in the history of the NHL, nobody else has ever been disciplined. Wake up man … !!

      @MisterCautionWhatever he did, it must have been absolutely horrible for the Blackhawks to terminate the contract with consequences still to come. It was so horrible, it was non criminal and he’s back in the league. There’s a bunch of reasons many people have many questions, and it’s because the Blackhawks handled the whole situation completely wrong. They brought all the attention to the team, why not just trade him? They could have eaten salary, got a return, and not created this situation.
