Senseo Coffee Maker First Use Start-up, Maintenance, Descaling, and Emptying Boiler for Shipping

This video will take you through the startup process for a Senseo coffeemaker (flushing the boiler). It also covers cleaning and de-scaling, maintenance for coffeemaker storage, and how to purge old water from inside the machine (to avoid freezing damage).
I use food color to prove that a full cup of water is retained in the boiler even after the reservoir is run empty. This water needs to be removed after the maker sits for a few days and I show the process of flushing it.
I also show the tri-valve inside the boiler that is the highest failure point for this coffeemaker and what’s necessary to replace or repair it.
