The new things is not to get one whole index finger in between "the gap"..but only a half of an index finger... as the grip style has overall changed in the sport.
most people now do not use the continental grip for forhands but semi-western.

You change also the balance and the swingweight with those scrink/ heat gun Tubes as they weigh 10-15 grams. Maybe you need to rebalance it with some lead tape in the hoop to get the swingweight and plowthorugh back.

Well he also removed 10-15 grams of previously existing material.

      @@jaekn ?
if you talk about the base grip.... Then that will be added on to the heat shrink tube.
overall make it more weight by 10 grams in the handle and therefore it needs to be rebaleanced maybe by adding lead tape to the hoop.

I found a second source for the heat shrink tube because I am working on my back up racket grip now. Buying it at the tennis store is about $10 for enough to cover your racket with one layer. You can find 24 inches of tubing (enough for two layers) on Amazon for $8
Important: you need to look for a tubing that has an 80 mm flat width (2 inches). This is not the same as diameter of the tubing when it's open. If you flatten the heat shrink tubing on the table and then measure how wide it is it has to be 2 inches across. This gives you a circumference of 4 inches, enough to go around the racket grip. This tubing size will slip over your butt cap of your racket without having to remove it and shrink down way more than you need.
If a single layer of this tubing doesn't increase your grip size as much as you want it to, you can simply put another layer of tubing on and shrink that until you get your ideal grip.

Can you put an Amazon link for the shrink tubing?
