Dimond c does High Neck trailers for lifted trucks, you definitely have a high neck trailer. Sad the dealer that sold you the trailer left and messed up alot of that good info. 💪🏽💪🏽 God Bless
Yeah that’s why I went with Diamond C! Sitting very level with the lifted truck 🙌🏼
That paint says “Hello Mr DOT” 😂
Been pulled into every scale and been inspected once. The officer complimented me on the setup and colors. lol it was awesome. But how I see it, it’s no difference than these large car guys with their custom trucks and colors
How much was the trailer if you don’t mind.
@@Loganstoolbox after the add ons and paint it was $19k
Nice set up.
Thank you!
Good luck buddy, tough business. Make sure you don’t wear your truck out before you make good money.
Try not to but if anything happens I’ll have to just get another and keep going
Oh well you answered my question... I wanted to know why you have a Non CDL set up and have a CDL.
But I wanted to know. Is how much all together you think buying a stock truck and a trailer like yours and straps and such... what does it run you? Been wanting to get in to it
Depends on your budget and if you go new or used. Used, think around $1,000 a month. New, I’d say over $2,000 a month but idk since that doesn’t pertain to me. Regarding flatbed equipment getting everything you need to start is like $1,600 from MyTee. You’ll acquire more along the way.
@truckertavis $1,000 - $2,000 Profit? But like I was asking if I was to start out doing this what would it cost me to get started? Like buy the truck, trailer, straps.. I'd love a video on something like that. And maybe getting licensed and insured and your perspective
Man they sold you a trailer without a spare tire? That's ridiculous!
I optioned out of it to get one cheaper on my own
I’ve been running My own Quad axle dump trucks and have had my Numbers for 6 years and mi insurance has been about 450 a month. Looking to buy a left over 2023 f350 or newer to run hot shot during the a winter months in the Midwest when Dump trucking is slow. I’d like to be part time 12-15 days out the month either over the road or tri state for 3-4 months. What are the profit numbers like part time would you be close to 10k gross? id hate to buy another Class 8 truck and barely use it.
hello do you live in the Mahoning valley
You been jammed at the scales? Doing research on buying a non CDL setup and everywhere I look, non CDL can’t have a trailer over 10k gvwr
Scales leave me alone. Been inspected once at a chicken coop. It’s the cops sitting on the interstates bored who get me. Only a few states follow that 10k rule (CA, AZ, NJ, and there’s a few more) other than that you’re fine.
Why don’t you have a bigger trailer if you have your cdl?
@@southerng77 trailer isn’t the issue. It’s my truck. I wish I could have a bigger trailer.
Is 2014 to old? saving up for a truck now any advice will help
@@Undefeatedatoutwittingcons oh no you can run even older
@truckertavis really everyone keeps telling me get no older than 2017
@@Undefeatedatoutwittingcons I don’t know the reason behind it but I’d rather run an older truck with a manual. The newer ones with the auto have a lot of issues from what I’ve heard and seen
how long is the trailer?
35’
Was bout to ask this as well 😂
@@alexisalainnangkil can’t believe I didn’t say the length 🤦🏻♂️😂
35+5 or 35?
@@Fermin817 just 35’
How’s business,?????
Non CDL is 26000 pounds and less combined weight. That means truck + trailer + cargo at the scale. That set up can never weight more than 14000/16000 pounds both truck and trailer. I am just throwing numbers like that. So before you get to 26000 pounds there’s still 12000/10000 pounds of cargo left based on these numbers. So absolutely a none CDL set up. He only needs to watch his cargo capacity after going through the REAL weight of both of his units. There’s more involved but maybe that answers the NON CDL question
Yes it’s a non-CDL setup. With my GAW I never put more than 9,500 pounds of cargo on my trailer. That’ll keep my at 25,500.
@@truckertavis 👍
how are you not cdl your trailer capacity is over 10,000
That’s not how it works. Only a few states that follow that rule and you have to be a resident of those states.
I run a very similar set up. Truck and trailer combined are less than 26k, no CDL required.
im going to save you a pain in the butt in life ..... better get that trailer derated from diamond c ....Section 390.5 of the FMCSRs includes in the definition of CMV a vehicle with a GVWR or GCWR of 10,001 or more pounds. The section further defines GCWR as the value specified by the manufacturer as the loaded weight of a combination (articulated) vehicle. Therefore, if the GVWR of the truck added to the GVWR of the trailer exceeds 10,001 pounds, the driver and vehicle are subject to the FMCSRs.... after you get that done get a DOT cert sleeper... you run in to a state dot boy that knows the law you going to get red tagged...
@@ZeroVoid been through 17 states and MANY weigh stations so far with this setup including commiefornia with the 10k pound law. That law only abides to the residents of those states that have it set in place.
Get cdl and setup best decision for me, non cdl is waste of time
I have my CDL. Just didn’t wanna spend the money for that setup. Hard enough to get work with new MC but putting a high monthly payment on top ain’t for me for starting out
@@truckertavis i know what you mean, i have a 3/4 ton that sits at home, hard to make that payment,, FYI the ifta tags are pain in the neck
@@truckertavisI think you did it the right way. I want to start something like this now that I early retired. I had a CDL years ago when they were classed differently. Now that I need to get it back school too much right now and I decided I’d give non CDL a shot with a a similar truck
