  • Quick video on how to change the air filter on a YBR 125.
My bike is very dirty and muddy and really should be cleaned before working on it but I'm lazy.
    Shot using a HTC Desire Z, 720p.

No, the metal mesh adds structure / rigidity to the paper filter, this filter is a composite of foam and paper, you could use compressed air on a pinch but you have to replace them, there's no going around that. If you soak the filter paper on water, you ruin it anyway.

I am not sure what the exact model number is but my YBR was the 2010 model on a UK '60 plate' registration.

Hi, do you know the exact model number of this YBR-125 (eg YBR125ED-3D9)? Or could you say which year it was made? I think mine is 2009 and looks very similar.
    Thankk you.

I think a little is okay, but then again I'm not 100% sure. My bike at that time was only a 1 year old so I can't imagine it had a worn out engine.

isn't it so that the air filter on the ybr is metal mesh, so you don't need to change it, but just hold under the spring for a while? just let it dry then reinstall it?

+rengarenk ras Hey, I don't own this bike anymore. When I had it, I kept it bone stock. There wasn't many modifications available back then for the bike. I was half tempted by a GPR exhaust, but never came around to buying it.

I can't remember how much I paid for the filter. All the invoices I had are now with the new owner.

Great video . But take off ALL hoses going into your airbox . From the crankcase and egr valve. Your airbox will only suck in clean air . They are there only for emissions. Crazy as your riding a bike then if your sat behind a bus your choking to breathe ! Oil in the airbox comes from the crankcase. Put a small k@n type filter on the hose comming out the crank. The egr valve just disconnect it from the airbox. Your carb will not be sucking in filthy air comming out the engine. Oh and for all you snowflakes about to go on about carbon footprints emissions etc ...... start your preaching on saving the planet at airplanes trains etc first rather than a little 125 cc engine.
