    Hey team, now let’s open this can of worms. Is the governments treatment and financial enumeration of doctors making them unhappy ?

    Hey man loved your videos since day 1. You give me motivation to work hard. Are you able to do a more detailed vid on how you got opportunities to write papers / run teaching sessions (how you organised it) while you were at med school?

    Amazing video! You touched upon it, in a future video, can you explain your experience or advice on burn out and recovering from it?

    Not being able to buy property in zone 2-3 is a very first world problem. Average property price in zone 2 is £870k a flat will run you about £650k. So affording that on a single income means you need to make about £150-200k a year which puts you in the top 2% of earners in London and well inside the top 1% in the UK. Completely anecdotal but one consultant I know just made £2k in a morning for writing letters and another owns a mclaren. As long as the nhs is free doctors will never make the equivalent private sector wages that their hard work would usually get them. That being said ultimately junior doctors should be making significantly more than they do.

    The answer is no, it’s the same in France, after 6 years we’re paid 1500e (2400 with shift) with between 40-80hr / per week

    Very informative and well structured video, and you make a very good point about the need for pay to reflect the hard work it takes to even become a doctor. I do believe that income has an effect on a doctors happiness becuase how can you possibly feel valued after all that gruelling work you do only to be paid relatively less than a doctor in your position 10+ years ago. Ultimately there is a balance to be struck if the pay remains the same then conditions, hours and the provision of healthcare doctors can provide need to be improved drastically, if however things remain as they are and there is no improvement in the work environment then they must be compensated with a higher pay to reflect the difficulty of work in worse conditions.

    Video content and quality are both very good but search engine optimization is not done before and after video upload. So the videos don't go viral. You are working so hard for this channel but not getting good results. To get good results you have to do channel and video search engine optimization too.

    Doctors were told how much they will earn before they applied, do you think that doctors should take more consideration of their salary before committing their life as a doctor?

    • @ThatMedic
      @ThatMedic  ปีที่แล้ว +26

      Yes, but the 50K in 2008 isn’t the same as 50K in 2023!!! House prices / living etc have all changed. If you told me year on year I’ll be paid 6-7% less I would have reconsidered

    If someone's making 100k working as a locum doctor, and next minute they're calling themselves "broke" (: it just doesn't make sense...
