I have a turbo on a LD28. The guy who did it only turned up the fuel. I'd like to couple a boost compensator to the stock injection pump. Any ideas? Thanks

Pretty hard. More tig welding.. But it is worth it.The engine pulls at high speeds much better. The distributor pump reduces the ihjection after 4000 engine rpm.

Screw more fuel clockwise and decrease idle. Smoke comes as the pump gives full fuel even though it is not boost pressure. Of both types pump gives the same amount. Vacuum top type pump give only full when there is boost pressure.

200HP comes with ease, no significant changes. Put turbocarger with about 45mm inducer and about 50mm turbine. Not a very big exhaust housing. about 1,5- 2 bar boost pressure. And injection pump with 10mm head rotor,It can be already in the pump. See that the pump number,VE6/10R. Rotate the pump screw to the larger,clockwise. Reduce idle screw. The engine takes that well and is pleasant in the daily driving.
thanks heaps....I missed this reply for some reason..... are the stock pistons ok for 1.5 bar boost ? I have found a smaller nissan turbo motor pump will fit on without mods that way you get the boost pressure compensation adjustment and more I guess ? Cheers Brett
Me parece que ese motor no aguanta, yo tengo uno y no para de romper! 🤬 encima ya no hay mas repuestos originales y lo que se consigue es chino. Solo pa renegar esa inmundicia 🤦♂️
I have a ld28 diesel in my 280c runs works great very reliable engine.
I have too 280c. H430 model. Not aluminium head,not timing belt. Therefore reliable..

Standard engine, more fuel, in a short time and more air. 300hp easily, the standard pump is not enough.

Replace the pump cover compensator model or the entire pump with RD28 engine,unnecessary smoke is reduced.

Stock pistons OK. broken over 2,5bar. Boost compensation and bigger head rotor..
