- A Navy man who recently died by suicide is being accused of sexually abusing a young girl who was friends with his child. The family of the alleged victim is now coming forward to tell their story.
Tim and Meredith Hatchell say their daughter recently told them she was sexually abused by the father of one of her friends, a man named Vincent Jakawich.
"It was incredibly difficult for my wife and our daughter and my sons who had to learn about this altogether," Tim Hatchell told News 3 on Monday.

I was stationed with a Chief who was accused of raping his step-daughter. They took him to jail. I can't remember how long he spent in jail (this was back in the 90s), but the step-daughter came forward and said she lied. She was mad at him because he would not allow her to go to a party. This man's career was nearly ruined because of a lie. It did end his marriage. I don't know the back story on this one, so I can't comment. I will always believe a child first... until proof is given otherwise. And the truth does come out.
You also BELIEVE ALL WOMEN because women never lie.

that’s why people can’t keep going around saying “thank you for your service” to anyone who has ever served. There has been so much crime within the military and it’s people like this that we end up trusting with our children. All over some false perception of accomplishment and morality. It reminds me of the kind of trust people place in the church- also full of predators.

I searched his name online, someone accused him back in 2020 and he was charged with a felony but then it was downgraded to a misdemeanor. I expect more children will come forward.
