I find Doctor Doom one of the most compelling Marvel Characters. He deserves his own live action something, in line with the comics, not the silly stuff the Fantastic 4 movies keep giving us.

I keep forgetting that Dr. Doom is, in most Marvel stories, one of the most _raw_ villains/antiheroes in the setting. He’s usually not brought up much because he prefers to be left alone and doesn’t _usually_ have grand, universe-spanning plans that involve all the other entities out there.
The thing I love most about Doom is that he wins. Now you might be thinking “but wertsir, doesn’t doom get defeated in almost every issue?” And sure, he gets defeated. But you know what? When Peter Parker achieves victory he goes back to being a hated nobody who’s stuck in a crappy one bedroom apartment. When Doom gets “defeated” he goes back to his castle, in his own country, in a city named after himself, where he has a nuclear arsenal and an army full of robots to fulfill his every command. Where they have a holiday celebrating him. Doom never risks anything. The worst possible outcome of his plans is a return to the status quo where he’s completely dominant. He doesn’t need every plan to be foolproof, because he knows he’ll survive to plot another one. In a universe that is all too often a dystopian hellscape where the characters are lucky just to survive, doom is thriving. He’s one of the only characters who seems like they’re actually having a consistently good time. And that’s winning.

At this point the ONLY reason Doom hasn't taken over the world and the universe is that he doesn't want to...he is more than capable of doing it no matter what the heroes may think.

Well his hate boner for Mr fantastic doesn't holds him back a bit beyond that more or less yeah doom in charge would most likely be best ending for most people.
Out of all the villains of Marvel, Doom is the biggest threat. Highly skilled with tech and magic and being the third smartest person alive. Not only that but when Iron Man and his Avengers fought him during civil war, the reason they won was because Dooms suit power was low and they had Sentry. They failed in arresting him because of diplomatic immunity too. Besides no one has ever proven Doom has done something wrong. In a Spiderman comic Doom takes the UN hostage in NYC. Spidey steps in and takes him down but when they're arresting Doom, the real Doom flies down and states one of his robot doubles went haywire. He always has a plan B. And when a god who can see every future agrees that you ruling the world is the best fate for humanity, you've won.
I'd say he's the most powerful villain but not the biggest threat. His plans usually aren't meant to be harmful but efficient and effective. He never means to harm, it's just a bi-product of his actions

I don't think he ripped out anything. He thrust his arm into Thanos' chest, grabbed his spine, then vaporized all the skin surrounding the bones. Why do I think this? No blood. If he had ripped it out there would be some kind of bodily fluid.
Dr. Doom is the closest thing the Marvel Universe has to a goddamn Lich. He is a sorcerer on par with the strongest Sorcerer Supreme's in the history of the position. He's a scientific and mechanical genius as well, and uses all of this knowledge to craft some of the most advanced technology humanity has to offer. His armor is hand crafted using resources from several different UNIVERSES and timelines. He has used time travel to greatly expand his knowledge and resources as well, even using it to acquire a piece of the True Cross and inlaying it into his armor so he can kill vampires and demons with his bare hands. He's honestly my favorite Marvel villain and I hope they do more with him.
Isn't he also pretty much immortal from some thing or another, because I remember reading that he sent himself back in time and got back to the present day the old fashioned way; waiting.

I think it's been noted that Doctor Strange beats him in magic still, and Reed Richards is still better in the scientific fields. Doesn't make him weak, just means that we should keep in mind that as good as he is, there are people who can outperform him in certain areas.

Just because you are part of something doesn't mean you will have that accent. I am half Mexican, but I do not have a Mexican accent or dialect. Dr. Doom is similar as he is more akin to Latvia than Romani. It is still a big part of him. It just doesn't show as physically as his Latvian part. Doom once became a God and gave it up because being a God was boring to him, he has a suit of armor that’s basically an improved Iron Man armor and is laced with Jesus Juice because he forged it from the nails that crucified Jesus, he’s know magic that rivals Dr. Strange often in conjunction with his technology, his citizens genuinely love him, he plays a personalized song of how great he is while walking through his home, and has yearly wrestling competitions with Satan over his mothers soul. An argument could be made that Reed Richards only became “good intentioned” after pranking his classmate “Victor”... Victor turned into a pragmatist with a propensity of turning to the dark side... Fate and Destiny are not the same thing and some negative things create positive outcomes just as some positive things create negative outcomes... The quirky things that could that don’t seem important are often remarkably powerful in the causation and chain of causalities... Image how it effects “Dr. Doom” that being punked by Reed Richards causes him to blow up his face and its effect on his drive, ambition and understanding is a necessity to him becoming who is... Consequences of relatively insignificant actions create out of proportion outcomes. The black and white of right and wrong is a rich ground for exploration in well constructed fictional characters... The interwoven intentions and consequences of benevolence, pragmatism and malevolence creates a rich tapestry and allows the stories to reflect reality in a artistic perspective... The duplicity, deception and misrepresentations are used in a kaleidoscope manner in conjunction safety, security and truths... The irony of interactions with DR. Doom are always filled with irony and foreshadowing foresight but you never know which way is he playing today?
He gave up being a god because, in becoming a god, he became aware that Reed Richards would be better at it. It was an act of humility, and it's fitting that the only thing that could humble Doom was godhood.

His cosmic energy blasts are immensely powerful, easily able to blow up planets. He's also a stronger psychic than even Professor X. Thanos also has some of the most advanced force field and teleportation tech in the universe built into his suit and body, with the former being able to block blasts from a semi-serious Galactus. Finally, Thanos has studied magic as well, though on that front he's not on the level of Doom. Thanos does not depend on stupid schemes, if anything that's more Doom's thing. Thanos is one of the strongest willed and most intelligent being in the universe, and his physical power almost equals that in addition. Doctor Doom is powerful, but nowhere near Thanos.
Squirrel Girl is a gag character tho, she’s excluded from most serious storylines so they can continue the joke of her being unbeatable without undermining other stories

Dr Doom is awesome because is literally one of the most self aware villains to exist. He knows himself, he's seen his end, the end game he could have. He is the opposite of the villain who wants to destroy the world or blindly seeks utopia without much thought. He brings Doom and chaos, because that is where excitement and growth is, but not just for the sake of it. Heroes will never rise above the villains, and it never seems apparent in his maturity his desire to destroy competition or heroes, but to overcome. The amount of times he commits to heroism and the soft spot he has for his people make the furthest being from a binary role. He went from a basic villain, to complex, and to playing god, only to be unsatisfied by that. Thanos in comparison is like a spoiled brat, constantly lectures and doesnt truly know himself. He has great powers, but lacks the maturity. Too many times has Thanos required lecturing.

Doom 2099 made me fall in love with the character, back in 93 or so. Gone were Claremont's X-men or any other heroe for that matter in my own personal pantheon. Doom became my favourite Marvel character by a long shot. And that's no easy feat.

Dr. Doom is the closest thing the Marvel Universe has to a goddamn Lich. He is a sorcerer on par with the strongest Sorcerer Supreme's in the history of the position. He's a scientific and mechanical genius as well, and uses all of this knowledge to craft some of the most advanced technology humanity has to offer. His armor is hand crafted using resources from several different UNIVERSES and timelines. He has used time travel to greatly expand his knowledge and resources as well, even using it to acquire a piece of the True Cross and inlaying it into his armor so he can kill vampires and demons with his bare hands. He's honestly my favorite Marvel villain and I hope they do more with him.
Isn't he also pretty much immortal from some thing or another, because I remember reading that he sent himself back in time and got back to the present day the old fashioned way; waiting.
@@VernulaUtUmbra yeah he went back in time to learn ancient gypsy magic of some kind, and then instead of time traveling back, I'm pretty sure he used some form of magic to delay his aging so he could gain more knowledge and practice while he waited.
I think it's been noted that Doctor Strange beats him in magic still, and Reed Richards is still better in the scientific fields.
Doesn't make him weak, just means that we should keep in mind that as good as he is, there are people who can outperform him in certain areas.

Just because you are part of something doesn't mean you will have that accent. I am half Mexican, but I do not have a Mexican accent or dialect. Dr. Doom is similar as he is more akin to Latvia than Romani. It is still a big part of him. It just doesn't show as physically as his Latvian part. Which isn't uncommon for most mix breeds like myself.

Doom once became a God and gave it up because being a God was boring to him, he has a suit of armor that’s basically an improved Iron Man armor and is laced with Jesus Juice because he forged it from the nails that crucified Jesus, he’s know magic that rivals Dr. Strange often in conjunction with his technology, his citizens genuinely love him, he plays a personalized song of how great he is while walking through his home, and has yearly wrestling competitions with Satan over his mothers soul. Dr Doom is awesome because is literally one of the most self aware villains to exist. He knows himself, he's seen his end, the end game he could have.
He is the opposite of the villain who wants to destroy the world or blindly seeks utopia without much thought. He brings Doom and chaos, because that is where excitement and growth is, but not just for the sake of it. Heroes will never rise above the villains, and it never seems apparent in his maturity his desire to destroy competition or heroes, but to overcome. The amount of times he commits to heroism and the soft spot he has for his people make the furthest being from a binary role. He went from a basic villain, to complex, and to playing god, only to be unsatisfied by that.
Thanos in comparison is like a spoiled brat, constantly lectures and doesnt truly know himself. He has great powers, but lacks the maturity. Too many times has Thanos required lecturing.

I find Doctor Doom one of the most compelling Marvel Characters. He deserves his own live action something, in line with the comics, not the silly stuff the Fantastic 4 movies keep giving us.

Doom 2099 made me fall in love with the character, back in 93 or so. Gone were Claremont's X-men or any other heroe for that matter in my own personal pantheon. Doom became my favourite Marvel character by a long shot. And that's no easy feat.
