    This is a fantastic video. You've created something that isn't just a procedural how-to, but actually walked through a diagnostic process. I've worked in several dealership service departments and I've never had a tech explain a diagnosis like this. I wish there were more tech's like you.

    thanks, its a good visual and will help to diagnose seal leaks. showing a shot of the scan data and brief narration helps to make things sink in. your skill and explanations make them great.

    I had forgotten about your 5/8 wrench trick but I found the lower bolt is so long winded I was able to get more than a few turns in before it started pulling on the plate - it felt pretty safe to me and I assumed that was why the bolts were so long.

    Hello Ron, I'm having a cold start problem. If I plug it in over night or just for 1 1/2hrs in the morning it start up fine. I have learn a lot from your video, I looked at your fix it for a quarter video and when ahead and replaced the valve cover gaskets with wiring assembly, replaced all glow plugs and glow plug relay.now the relay did had power the the valve cover plug on the out side. I did not see that gap on the inside plug, but when I started to unplug the injectors, the connectors was breaking apart. I full charged both batteries, and stills does the same, won't start. I have take in it to ford here in Hutto, txt and I was told I needed all 8 injectors. I have an old snap on scanner and done a buzz test and the sound good. A different shop told me if the injectors were bad it would run rough and be smoking. The truck run great, I just replace the fuel pump, pick up screen and cleaned out the filters on the sending unit. Any other suggestions?

    I decide to try to do it myself after i saw your video. The seal leak when start on a injector and it work well, forgot to drain so start it with no injector on, (SPILL) (get away) But work well. Thank you very much, you make me save a lot.

    Ron, as always, another great video! Thanks for the information. Question, if one is torn would it not be prudent at this time to replace the seals on the other injectors? If you have done this repair on one injector what is the longevity of the other injector seals in your professional opinion? Thank you!

    Great video as always! I curious, Is it fairly normal for experienced techs such as yourself to replace an injector without a) cleaning the injector tip, and b) cleaning the injector bore. Personally I have only done a couple powerstroke injectors but with the sensitivity of the HP oil system, I took the utmost care in cleaning everything.
    Lastly, What is your opinion on oil selection for powerstroke owners. I hear so many differing views.

    Would a bad injector cause pcm shut down crank no start, no fuel pump, no wait to start, no service engine soon, no scanner communication, no nothing... Checked fuses, relays, icp, fuel pressure ,hi pressure pump, valve solenoid... all good tested alone just no pcm communication. Started checking wire hardness. Disconnected 41-pin connection and I got pcm communication glow plug relay fuel pump, but no start disconnected..So I reconnect no pcm no wait to start no nothing. Can someone help I'm about to fix it with a $4 gallon of gas and a match.

    I've got an 2000 F350 dually, 7.3L turbo diesel. the only way it'll start is if I pump the throttle, the motor drags like a bad battery until fuel gets down into the cylinders, then it turns over easily(well a lot better). if it's hot I have to do the same thing. even if I start it and turn it back off then try to restart, still have to pump the pedal.
    I've checked both fuses and they are good, fuel pump on the rail is running. I even unplugged the plug at the top of the pedal and it'll start, but only if I pump the pedal, after starting the throttle has no response.
    any ideas as what I could check next and if so is there a test for it?
    thanks for any reply.

    • @rickylakey4389
      @rickylakey4389 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dan Carlin at 6.22 he will show you that it is oil in the area where the top o-ring is letting oil bypass and not diesel
