Thank you for letting everyone know that saying “Roblay” is incorrect, drives me nuts! Everyone local says “Rowbulls” or just Paso. So many good wine makers and super friendly people. Great content!
I don't care what locals think is correct or not correct. I pronounce it Roblays.. Its such a romantic language and sounds fitting for a beautiful wine region full of the beautiful oaks! I've been going there for many years, and have never been corrected or yelled at by a local.
We are huge fans of Paso.. belong to numerous wine clubs there. Although the wines at Tablas are not our go to, they are done incredibly well. We just tasted there a couple weeks ago, and grabbed a couple bottles. Super impressed with the farming there and their commitment to the earth and climate change. Cheers!
Every Nerd Lab I watch, I can't help but check out the books...sorry, I'm a nerd. Would love an episode on books we should be aware of if we love wine. Great episode on Paso Rowbulls!!!
Awesome videos on this channel. Great content, very good cinematography, engaging host! Why you don't have 1M+ subs confounds me. Just shared you to all the winos I know. Best of everything to you and shall look forward to following your journeys. God bless your adventures!
Love Paso. The wife and I met going to school at Cal Poly but we never went to Paso. These days we like going to Paso even more than Napa. Love L'Aventure, Law, Linne Calodo and Clos Selene.
@@visforvino Guillame the owner at Clos Selene actually used to work for Stephan at L'Aventure. His brother Arnaud is married to Stephan's daughter. These days they have a project together, Benom, that is great too.
If you've not been, I cannot recommend Dubost enough. Katie is an absolute GEM and has some amazing stories to tell. They also have some surprisingly bomb pizza, with a glaze made from leftover wines.
Great video and very informative. Paso is my favorite wine region. Been to Tablas Creek many times. Many other awesome wineries in Paso. Oh yeah...I subscribed! Salud!!
Of course! So we actually do have a playlist that is all Nerd Labs on our page, including a few (including "Cooking with Wine") that are exclusive to there! Check it out when you have a sec!
Late to the party, was recently Looking to take a sommelier class, just for fun, and found your recommendation video! Absolutely love the info and videos, have you ever checked out Temecula wine country out in CA?
I just saw an ad boasting Passo Robles as a possible tourist spot. The lyrics to the music in the commercial said "Where were you in 1978, oh yeah"(in the style of Big Star)" prominently throughout the entire ad. I lived in a neighboring town close to Passo Robles in 1978. I was 4 years old at the time. I want to know if some entity is advertising directly to me(Google most likely), or is it a whacky coincidence that they made a commercial advertising the place and time I lived during that exact year. A coincidence seems unlikely. I'm thinking that everyone who got that ad was advertised a different year that was likely nostalgic to their childhood. I just bought a specific pair of glasses. And now I keep seeing ads for that exact pair of glasses that I just from America's Best on TH-cam. These conglomerates know entirely too much.
Its targeted advertisement based off your browsing history and assumed likes/dislikes/and geographic region, among other things. Its not a coincidence as much as your footprint on the internet matched up with the footprint the advertising firm was looking for.
My family is native to SLO county. Matter of fact, my grandma's photo is in the SLO History Museum's collection as a "Chumash" woman (Indigenous tribe, native to the central coast of California). I grew up in Templeton, the next town over from Paso. I can tell you, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that it is pronounced by the locals as 'Pass-Oh Row-Bulls'. Anyone pronouncing it differently isn't local. @visforvino
Great video. Wish you would mention more wineries though. I prefer Paso wines over Napa in the under 200$ range. These wines drink equal to wines twice their Napa price point.
Hoanglong Le I 100% agree! It’s my battle I fight all the time: getting people to be open to trying a Paso Cab over a Napa Cab: price to dollar ratio, it’s not even close. I wish I had time to visit more places too, maybe one day I can do another episode there!
V is for Vino - Wine Show - Watch Learn Drink very exciting stuff. I have my level 1 WSET certification and love the show. Do you think you guys would ever do USA east coast? PA and VA have some good things to offer. Not sure how hot and exiting they are though 🤣
Ryan Strauss I do hope to! I’ve actually wanted to do NY for quite some time and Virginia is another that’s on the list! I hope I can get there one day for an episode!
Your shows are incredibly informative ... well done! But the constant background music just wears me out ... I think less is more in that regard. You are energetic enough without the constant drive of the music you pick!
I’ve heard both pronunciations from locals I asked and interviewed. If you notice Jason Hass says “row-bulz” in his segment, but others people say “robe-lays” in theirs.
This episode was amazing cant wait to discover paso robles and SLO
Thank you for letting everyone know that saying “Roblay” is incorrect, drives me nuts! Everyone local says “Rowbulls” or just Paso. So many good wine makers and super friendly people. Great content!
I’ve still had people yell at me for one of the versions vs the other (see some of the comments lol)
@@visforvino the people who do that are obviously NOT LOCALS, I am so I confirm you are correct!

I’m learning a lot from this channel!!!!
glad we can help!

Yes, they really are doing some special projects there. Glad you got to visit!
LOVE Paso and Tablas!

Yay! Thank you for watching!!

I’m still waiting for you guys to come out to Lodi and the Central Valley. 😃🍷🍇
Hopefully one day!
Your videos are excellent! Cheers 🍷
Thank you!
Love Paso. The wife and I met going to school at Cal Poly but we never went to Paso. These days we like going to Paso even more than Napa.
Love L'Aventure, Law, Linne Calodo and Clos Selene.
Agreed! It's so laid back, and more accessible. L'Aventure is one of my favorites. I'll have to try the others!

Thanks for this awesome show. I love Rhône blends and Tabla’s Creek has done a great job. I need to try their whites.
Their whites are amazing!!
Love this Chanel 🙌🏻🍷
Thank you!
Outstanding
Adam Thomas Thanks Thomas! Thanks for watching. If you liked this, make sure to check out the other episodes!
One of Wine area favorites, producing some Great Red Varietals....heading there soon.
It's a fun region!

Very nice video. Educational. Entertaining.
Thank you! Check out our other episodes If have you time!!
Ok, so this is where I need to be!🍷
Paso is awesome! Totally underrated wine region!
No. Don't go there. They have an HP Lovecraft situation happening right now. Wait a couple years.

Think of the word pass that's how you start out saying Paso Robles
Good tip!
Got me all excited to eat at Artisan but looks like it's closed. Bummer.
Darien Guy yes, unfortunately. But I recommend “The Hatch” and “Thomas Hill Organics.”
Grenche provides seriousness for syrah, syrah provides friendliness for grenache***
I love that line too. Such an articulate way to put it.
Sadly the Artisan is closed
Bummer!
We need moarrrr

artisan - is permanently closed according to Google.
Ah, bummer!
Locals call it “Pass-oh.” Not “paw-so.”
Good to know, thanks! Sometimes my midwest accent seeps into everything!
Row balls really???

Amazing that you did an entire bit about how to pronounce "Paso Robles" and kept saying "Paso" really weird.
