Just checked it in the lab, you can't backdash after the s3, but you can pushblock. To escape you need to time the pushblock to happen at the same time with the freeze from the globe of the Glacier Granade. And in the set ups where the pushblock doesn't come out at the moment of the freeze, you can't get the mb field out for the second refreeze.
I actually found something like this awhile ago. It uses 3 bars of meter. And you only need 2 level trait. You can get 85-100% (depending on character) and you start next round with already level 2 trait. I really like this one tho cause it’s continuous. Captain cold can be so damn creative with his set ups lol
It looks pretty sweet but charging up the trait plus having full meter.....by that time you should already be close enough to winning the match or needing to save the meter for a clash. Sick set-up though. I main Cold but don't rely on the glacier grenade as much as other dudes do.
This is nice and all but you can do just as much damage with a simpler setup and not waste 3+ bars. It clearly has potential though, I'm curious to see what SonicFox does with it.
Makes you wonder if setup characters have been taken too far if this is a thing. I mean I thought Cyrax's unblockable resets in MK9 were considered apalling. This is the exact same thing only you need, what, 3 bars? That doesnt seem impossible to come by. I think the simple fact that this can actually be practically executed in a real match says something about where setplay characters in NRS have moved towards.

You could save yourself a meter and do instant jump 1 f23bf1 jump 1 crossup f23df3 and it freezes them twice but yeh I love that restand nice video

I’ve known about this setup for a very long time but the one I use is different and doesn’t use the mb icicle
When you do df3 mb and wait until the double freeze they can just mash backdash (and its not hard)
