Also a significant portion of the void does true damage -it's kinda their thing. Khazix was the only void champ without true damage (could count malz, but I'm talking orignating from the void), and he's lorewise one of the weakest void champions.
Okay true damage dopamine aside, she has to work to get fury, just to get max hp damage that champions like kayn, fiora, and so many other bruisers get for free?
They're glazing giving back the AoE knock up, when they gutted that a whole gang of people rioted. It's gonna be crazy with the new bruiser items though. Can't wait.
i dont think its going to be crazy at all. Theyre giving her random AP ratios and magic damage, basically removing her E ability from the game, -75% ad ratio on R, Yet theyre also giving her health scalings? Makes no sense. This champion will never be played again

And it's almost very difficult for you to knock up many people with w because you have to position yourself in the middle of the enemy team. @@voyagereternal11 It's a nerf if you're only looking at damage numbers but the utility buffs are INSANE. Movespeed buffs across the board and 10 second cd buff at level 1 tunnel means you can get basically two times more tunnels in the early game and be all over the map. We're basically getting the old reksai back but with a reworked mobility kit to accomodate the lack of global ultimate. Keep in mind old reksai was meta because of her utility, not her damage. She's going to revert back to being a primarily tank jungler instead of a fighter jungler.
Honestly I preferred her old ult. It was simple and a bit clunky but it was unique and added a bit of horror almost to the character. We all hear the scream. All scared of where she went.
I miss positional ultimates. Of course that means her other abilities had to be juiced up so that fighting would be normal with only 3 abils (the Sylas effect) . But yeah after even Tahm's ult being swapped out that really just makes only TF and Pantheon (ish) with a positional ultimate.

I was thinking about that too. The feel of the 500-600 true damage bite is notable, but 14% additional max health is probably better because now you don't have to actually build an ad to deal damage. Your identity has not been changed

The difference is that now you can build tank and have a great amount of damage on your E, what you can't do nowadays and talking about it now, I'm excited to try out a tank build for her

Season 6 bruiser Reksai flash bumping the whole team, that was an assassin diver early and a tank in late, was amazing. I loved that diving meta with Elise, Reksai and Elise
E burrow speed increase was really needed, very curious how the inevitable continuous mobility power creep will look like in another 10 years, probably most champs will have near flash speed dashes with 400 base movementspeed.

With these changes they return Rek'Sai to Top. She will gain Bite extremely quickly, taking into account the new atackspeed bonus on Q and Stridebreaker, which will sit perfectly on her. Or Trinity Force. You can even try Lethal Tempo. A Tank-bruiser that deals both physical and magical damage + bonus atackpeed cap.
This was the first expensive champion I saved up for and bought back when her ult was a free tp to a burrow. Hopefully I can give her another shot and not just be a semi assasin that falls off
What nerf? After the nerfs she had last season and her fall from grace it makes total sense to give her back some of her old tank/bruiser playstyle….itemization currently doesn’t favor her assassin build (no prowler’s claw) and she would be too squishy in this bursty meta without a gap closer so that seems like a great buff in my book…call it a return to her roots

There is a substantial difference between a character being ass, and a character getting brought down to where they should be due to the removal of an overpowered item in their build that made them unbeatable. pick something that actually makes sense, because a broken item that's no longer in the game doesn't work as an excuse.
so here's the thing, ever since reksai got changed into a hybrid of assassin / bruiser she has had that existential crisis where she doesn't fit quiet well in either, yes you can get got but in late game she naturally falls behind due to her kit being not that well built for skirmishes...removing that overpowered item removed the one gap closer that really enabled her assassin playstyle so that's why they've been taking her back to her tank role@@Atomik0468

I like the idea of her being more of a Tanky, monstrous Mixed Attacker & Diver/Bruiser, rather than an AD Assassin, so these changes are more in-line with the 'power fantasy' role I'd want to see her in. Let's just hope she actually performs well too
Some of these changes i really like, and hearing the first bit with the burrowed Q really felt like they were letting her lean MORE into being able to buy an AP item for the higher damage ratio, I.E. new Shadowflame, but after hearing the unburrowed E dmg type change, it def seems theyre trying to restrict the playstyle with those abilities to particular builds. (No more Rek'sai true dmg "crit" Sadge) Her Burrowed W being buffed the way it did is also a massive potential playstyle change, so, variety for Rek'sai!
The ulti should have a unique cast where you can cast it on your tunnels so you tp to them like the very first Rek'Sai, or target it on an enemy champ to jump them instead.

The only plus that I don't mind is the W that can knock up everyone in exchange for being magic dmg is fine, it looks like a tank jungler now not even bruiser, her AD ratios got nerf, her AD abilities got changed into AP, her utility got buffed and her main dmg true/missing health got nerfed, not a bruiser or assasin, just a tank now, looks pretty weird
According to what Phreak has stated about these changes in his recent video, he is looking to make Rek'Sai feel better because she is now the 2nd least popular champion in the game behind Skarner (who is getting his VGU). As a result of these changes, he is also attempting to move Rek'Sai to a more bruiser style champion as she use to be instead of a lethality assassin. Changing her burrowed stuff to magic damage and lowering numbers should help move her in that bruiser direction, and overall help her game health for those who play her.
I appreciate the changes. I just had an idea. What if rek’sai got a special little time gated ability bonus similar to corki’s special delivery that lets her travel to a burrow on the map like her old ult. How do you think that would be? I do miss the map pressure she used to have.
I would just like to see the ultimate replaced altogether, maybe it could function similarly to keep her abilities offense focused (sticking to the void theme) but she’ll overall feel week as a tank champion with her damage getting nerfed but also not having consistent cc or survive ability as compared to some other tanks. I think someone like chogath makes it work but his main gimmick is his ult which scales with his health and does massive true damage. Thats kinda what this feels like, a more mobile but less offensive chogath. I’ll need to feel it out for myself, hopes that reksai returns to relevancy
Rek'Sai is back again babyyy as a dude that plays her a lot i have to say i am reaelly happy with the passive health change and the faster tunneling speed it used to suck ass to use her e because everyone would just walk away not that she waas bad but it felt a bit off
Did she lose anything besides less fury on minions and AD scaling on ult? This sounds like mostly large buffs. I admit the numbers kind of blurred together a bit so I probably didn't catch everything.
Love how some champs never get a real rework but others get 5 rumble has had the same kit since release but a slight passive change a robot with no jumps or a real dash

But its so weird, though, she has too long cds still for low dmg build, half her kit is randomly magical, she has no built in pen or shred. How is she gonna be okay with being bruiser? Unless they make knockup target cd scale with haste or sth i dont see how this alone is enough utility for full tank either. It feels like a big nerf just to compensate for aoe knockup. When she was this tanky engage jungler, a lot of her power was based on the fact that her ult was teleporting her to her tunnels, giving her pretty much a TP with possibly as little as 1 min cd. So she was able to be anywhere on the map, and was completely unpredictable.
As someone who has played a lot of Rek'sai I can for sure say that the utility part of her kit feels like its returning to the Rek'sai we knew back in 2015 however they are actually straight up nerfing her. The problem is she has no scaling potential beyond her passive and now they are straight up removing AD scaling on some abilities and reducing AD scaling on her ult by quite a lot. After running some tests and builds on the PBE I'm gonna just say this, Riot has no idea what to do with Rek'sai and every single time they buff her even if its just a slight cooldown they have to adjust her for 4 patches in a row after she got her buffs. I guess we'll have to wait and see what stays and what goes just be ready to adapt again
Well let's see how the recent tank items have been doing (Chogath actually being stronger in the toplane now, etc) I think she'll do fine with all the items that are given to tanks over what are given to bruisers.

Oh god please just let Rek'Sai be a bruiser, they were a bruiser when they launched and I fell in love with them at launch. Every other season they've tried to make them some weird brand of assassin out of nowhere and it's always felt ass (even if Prowler's made it work for a while). I'm just glad they're taking her back to her roots, and I hope it stays this time
It never made sense to me making her an assassin, but I guess with the new ultimate it was appropriate. Still like the old one tho, we don't see abilities like that anymore (rip old Tahm R).
I always complained about reksai not having a distinct type, tank didn’t feel good, assassin didn’t work properly if you didn’t one shot, and bruiser being out scaled after 10 min. Even though I prefer the lethality build Im still happy for her to be a controller bruiser. Im going go full tank though like old reksai.
Riot will release this live withou testing. Then 13 hours later hot patch it not only reverting the changes but nerfing her to even worse than b4 the release.

I like the fact that they're bringing her back to bruiser/tank, but removing the true damage kinda makes her not seem like a void champ. I hate true damage as a concept, but the void champs are signified by their ability to do true damage. ALL of them can do it, except her now.

@@petaryakov5428 Kai'sa, Malza and Kassadin don't have true damage, but they are humans who've been touched or affected by the Void in some way, not Voidborns, or as they were called here "Void Monsters". Kog'maw literally turns into a suicide bomber and deals half your HP in True Damage wdym he doesn't have any? The only TRUE exception was Kha'zix and now Rek'sai.
She kinda needs more health scalings if she needs to build bruiser. Should ve made it so her e at max fury heals her for %hp and also the damage should scale a bit with health
ok, man, I'm really, really happy. I had contact with league for the first time in 2014, when she was released. It was love at the first sight, but when I really started playing, in 2020, she was just terrible, almost an unplayable champion. All the mechanics we're so nerfed, like AoE knock up, slow tunnels, pathetic passive. Through all these years I've been complaining about her kit and everything taht should be different. Having all of this at once is an unesplanable sensation. Last patch I even said "46% winrate and didn't even was mentioned in the patch notes". I'm really, really happy. It's magic.
I don't think people understand how bad this is for rek'sai, only knocking up one target at a time but damaging them all was a huge part of rek'sais early clear, along side the AD scaling the unburrow had. Plus the true damage on the E made up a large part of her early burst which is what made her such a threat. Now she appears to be stronger mid game but hits the powerspike slower cuz of slower clear and weaker early. Of course this is all theory but if the changes hit servers like this I get the feeling her wr is gonna drop, I could be entirely wrong here. Note this is coming from a bruiser rek'sai enjoyer.
As someone with 2m+ mastery across my accounts on rek, I think the changes are okay, but the main problem with her kit is still her ult. They ruined her when they changed it originally. If they want to make her a tank now, they need to change her ult to something that will match her identity as a fighter.

Pre mythics reksai was always bruiser build tri- cleaver, Prowlers claw was really the only time she was viably an assassin.

Oh my years I have been putting time into learning her just to have to do it again. But I am excited. Her kit feels very odd.

I like the idea of her being more of a Tanky, monstrous Mixed Attacker & Diver/Bruiser, rather than an AD Assassin, so these changes are more in-line with the 'power fantasy' role I'd want to see her in.
Let's just hope she actually performs well too
Some of these changes i really like, and hearing the first bit with the burrowed Q really felt like they were letting her lean MORE into being able to buy an AP item for the higher damage ratio, I.E. new Shadowflame, but after hearing the unburrowed E dmg type change, it def seems theyre trying to restrict the playstyle with those abilities to particular builds. (No more Rek'sai true dmg "crit" Sadge)
Her Burrowed W being buffed the way it did is also a massive potential playstyle change, so, variety for Rek'sai!
The ulti should have a unique cast where you can cast it on your tunnels so you tp to them like the very first Rek'Sai, or target it on an enemy champ to jump them instead.
i feel liek they need to change that fits more to a bruiser as her current ult is only for assassinations. Maybe make it so that any other enemies in the way of reksais target are slowed or knocked away can be cool
The only plus that I don't mind is the W that can knock up everyone in exchange for being magic dmg is fine, it looks like a tank jungler now not even bruiser, her AD ratios got nerf, her AD abilities got changed into AP, her utility got buffed and her main dmg true/missing health got nerfed, not a bruiser or assasin, just a tank now, looks pretty weird
According to what Phreak has stated about these changes in his recent video, he is looking to make Rek'Sai feel better because she is now the 2nd least popular champion in the game behind Skarner (who is getting his VGU). As a result of these changes, he is also attempting to move Rek'Sai to a more bruiser style champion as she use to be instead of a lethality assassin. Changing her burrowed stuff to magic damage and lowering numbers should help move her in that bruiser direction, and overall help her game health for those who play her.
So his idea of making champion feel better is straight up nuking champion's numbers.

As one of the 5 Rek Sai mains, this is great. The tunnel was the only thing rhat made Rek Sai special and that cd was ridiculous.

I would just like to see the ultimate replaced altogether, maybe it could function similarly to keep her abilities offense focused (sticking to the void theme) but she’ll overall feel week as a tank champion with her damage getting nerfed but also not having consistent cc or survive ability as compared to some other tanks. I think someone like chogath makes it work but his main gimmick is his ult which scales with his health and does massive true damage. Thats kinda what this feels like, a more mobile but less offensive chogath. I’ll need to feel it out for myself, hopes that reksai returns to relevancy

Did she lose anything besides less fury on minions and AD scaling on ult? This sounds like mostly large buffs. I admit the numbers kind of blurred together a bit so I probably didn't catch everything.
Love how some champs never get a real rework but others get 5 rumble has had the same kit since release but a slight passive change a robot with no jumps or a real dash

But its so weird, though, she has too long cds still for low dmg build, half her kit is randomly magical, she has no built in pen or shred. How is she gonna be okay with being bruiser? Unless they make knockup target cd scale with haste or sth i dont see how this alone is enough utility for full tank either.
It feels like a big nerf just to compensate for aoe knockup.
When she was this tanky engage jungler, a lot of her power was based on the fact that her ult was teleporting her to her tunnels, giving her pretty much a TP with possibly as little as 1 min cd. So she was able to be anywhere on the map, and was completely unpredictable.

As someone who has played a lot of Rek'sai I can for sure say that the utility part of her kit feels like its returning to the Rek'sai we knew back in 2015 however they are actually straight up nerfing her. The problem is she has no scaling potential beyond her passive and now they are straight up removing AD scaling on some abilities and reducing AD scaling on her ult by quite a lot. After running some tests and builds on the PBE I'm gonna just say this, Riot has no idea what to do with Rek'sai and every single time they buff her even if its just a slight cooldown they have to adjust her for 4 patches in a row after she got her buffs. I guess we'll have to wait and see what stays and what goes just be ready to adapt again
i'm disappointed it looks more like a nerf it will miss the true damage on the E and the improvement for tank is too low compared to the damage lost

Oh god please just let Rek'Sai be a bruiser, they were a bruiser when they launched and I fell in love with them at launch. Every other season they've tried to make them some weird brand of assassin out of nowhere and it's always felt ass (even if Prowler's made it work for a while). I'm just glad they're taking her back to her roots, and I hope it stays this time

It never made sense to me making her an assassin, but I guess with the new ultimate it was appropriate. Still like the old one tho, we don't see abilities like that anymore (rip old Tahm R).

I always complained about reksai not having a distinct type, tank didn’t feel good, assassin didn’t work properly if you didn’t one shot, and bruiser being out scaled after 10 min. Even though I prefer the lethality build Im still happy for her to be a controller bruiser. Im going go full tank though like old reksai.
Riot will release this live withou testing. Then 13 hours later hot patch it not only reverting the changes but nerfing her to even worse than b4 the release.

I like the fact that they're bringing her back to bruiser/tank, but removing the true damage kinda makes her not seem like a void champ. I hate true damage as a concept, but the void champs are signified by their ability to do true damage. ALL of them can do it, except her now.
I envision Reksai support, good engage like rakan. aftershock, font of life, bone plating, overgrowth for extra passive heal, or unflinching for lots of cc. that or glacial augment. idk maybe im crazy, but...

@@petaryakov5428 Kai'sa, Malza and Kassadin don't have true damage, but they are humans who've been touched or affected by the Void in some way, not Voidborns, or as they were called here "Void Monsters".
Kog'maw literally turns into a suicide bomber and deals half your HP in True Damage wdym he doesn't have any?
The only TRUE exception was Kha'zix and now Rek'sai.

ok, man, I'm really, really happy. I had contact with league for the first time in 2014, when she was released. It was love at the first sight, but when I really started playing, in 2020, she was just terrible, almost an unplayable champion. All the mechanics we're so nerfed, like AoE knock up, slow tunnels, pathetic passive. Through all these years I've been complaining about her kit and everything taht should be different. Having all of this at once is an unesplanable sensation. Last patch I even said "46% winrate and didn't even was mentioned in the patch notes". I'm really, really happy. It's magic.
The briar changes get great, excited to see them out into Rek sai too 👍🏻

As a reksai main I see this as an absolute win
I don't think people understand how bad this is for rek'sai, only knocking up one target at a time but damaging them all was a huge part of rek'sais early clear, along side the AD scaling the unburrow had. Plus the true damage on the E made up a large part of her early burst which is what made her such a threat. Now she appears to be stronger mid game but hits the powerspike slower cuz of slower clear and weaker early. Of course this is all theory but if the changes hit servers like this I get the feeling her wr is gonna drop, I could be entirely wrong here. Note this is coming from a bruiser rek'sai enjoyer.

Sad how she lost her true dmg, I really like the idea of void champions having true dmg wish they could add it back somewhere even if is small.
As someone with 2m+ mastery across my accounts on rek, I think the changes are okay, but the main problem with her kit is still her ult. They ruined her when they changed it originally. If they want to make her a tank now, they need to change her ult to something that will match her identity as a fighter.
