thanks for your videos dude, I spent the past week making a song for my girlfriend and my 2 year anniversary. Im proud of the outcome and had so much fun!
I'm still completely new to music but I am learning and you have given so much insight! It's also so good to hear another Australian creator, you're vids are so high production and I really hope you keep it up! You explain like a friend would and it's very calming! 😀
Thanks for these tips. Imposter syndrome is all too real. I want to write but I always have anxiety around my creativity and my abilities. Some good learnings/takeaways from this. BRB exercising my creative muscle
Awesome video my friend. As they say things come to you when you need them most. This video and your channel came to me today as I'm in the middle of writing, singing and producing my first country music song (my lyrics and vocals). I'M REALLY FEELING ANXIOUS 😬 I'm a perfectionist (working on it) and I'm feeling like I'm procrastinating a lot. I'm 60y/o, retired, working p/t in the mornings doing deliveries for running around money and to buy equipment, plugins, etc. without going into my savings😁 Q: does one have to work on their music, song, craft every day? I'm feeling like im slacking/ procrastinating in the evenings during the work week cause im tired after working in the mornings. 😢 I dont feel like working on the song until the weekends when I'm off. Thanks.✌️❤️
Thank you my friend! Firstly, what you are doing is incredible and inspiring... so let's toast to you having the courage to live your dreams 🍾 As for your question about how often, only you can answer that... The most important thing is that you create a sustainable schedule which you can commit to long term, so that it becomes part of your life. If you need to rest during the week and can only commit to the weekends, then that's what works for you. You might also find that spending even just 30 minutes - 1 hour every afternoon during the week on music actually energizes you, because you feel passionate about it. Experiment with both and see what works best for you. I believe in you! 🙌 PS procrastination is often due to uncertainty in the process. So the more you do it, the less you anxious you will feel!
yo yo James! Good to see you again bro. Oh man, that sounds frustrating! I appreciate you sharing with me 🙏 It's hard to say without hearing your songs, seeing your process, knowing you as a person and how you think etc. There could be many reasons, any some of them may have nothing to do with music at all. If you want we can have a quick video call and I can try help you. DM me on IG and I'll send you a link instagram.com/jeanpaulfung 🤘
Thanks for the tips man! Have you read Steven Bartlett's first book? I think the chapter on compounding is amazing and always gives me motivation to keep going :)
