What a great place! Thanks so much for taking me down that creek, and showing the Aerial views..it really hit the soul. I actually got nervous with that crashing sound...and wasn’t even there! 😬😅😂. Congratulations on the Grayling, that is awesome! 👍 Have a great week Dan! You definitely had some beautiful Fish On! 🏔🎣👍👌✌️
Good stuff! I live in wasilla and fish a local creek about that size and we pull 25 inch plus rainbows every weekend, the natural trout here are no joke! The old boys love to fight, looks like you had fun glad you enjoyed!
my brother did a guided hike up some river system from the coast line...... guide told the group, "the further we go up this trail, the lower on the food chain we are" ........ i would have turned around ....... and ran......
Nice ones! Great sized for that small water. Hey Dan. When you tie on a tag line, do you tie to the hook bend? Or onto the eye. I've seen both. Which do you normally do? Thanks.
Thanks Rosie! Typically, I’ll tie the tag line to the eye of the first fly…gives the first a more natural presentation. I do however - tie to the hook if it’s getting tangled a bunch. Hope that helps - cheers!
That was some awesome looking water. What was your Rod and Line setup in this video? I fish similar size water and am exploring options with a new setup.
This is great! I'd love to go to Alaska this coming year. I can't believe you went a mile hike and fished alone. Since I'll most likely be alone, I'm doing some risk assessment on what is realistic and what is reckless at this point. Seems like a lovely stream though. What the heck was that crashing sound? Was that thunder?
Hello Jay - this was an AMAZING trip for sure. Alaska is certainly an incredible fishery, but also dangerous. I’d would recommend bear spray for sure on any of these hikes in. I’m sure that crashing was a moose - scared the heck out of me for sure. Time to head back!! Lol
Was this place accessible without getting on an airplane? Nice video. I've been to Alaska 4 times. We rented an RV and stuck pretty close to the highway. Never had luck with trout North of Anchorage. Had a blast trout fishing around Cooper Landing.
Headed to Anchorage in about a week. Do most of the small random creeks hold fish? Or are they mainly seasonal runoff? Trying to find small creeks with grayling and trout. Love the video!!!
Fish On! What a fun watch : ) truly enjoyed watching you fish and your excitement is so entertaining. I’m currently in Alaska on a family trip and hoping to sneak out onto some smaller creeks. Can I send you an email? Big thanks, Tim

Another great video Dan.
Thank you! I appreciate that :)). Cheers!
Nothing more fun then running a mouse other running a drop rig with one. Great video
Thank you! So much fun having them blast the mouse then come back for the nymph. Love Alaska!

Thanks Charlie - I appreciate you taking the time to watch! The crashing certainly made me nervous for sure…time to turn back! Lol. Fish-on indeed!
Alaska is on my list! Great vid Dan!
Awesome! Thank you!
I was in AK last week as well. I was fishing lakes and was picking up some choice rainbows. Fun watching your stream action!
That's awesome! Love fishing Alaska - so lucky to live as close as I do...just a quick plane ride up north!
Good video my man!
Thanks!
Stunning Video Dan. Thanks a lot!
My pleasure!
Love that creek.😊
You know that creek? It's a well-kept secret and deservedly so :)) I just need to bring some bear spray next time...yikes
@@FlyFishDan unfortunately it seems awful popular these days.

Lol - so true and well said! That is exactly where I turned around. Didn’t want to push my luck!
Anywhere you go you’re smaller on the food chain here. Even us locals are scared of bears. They’re literally monsters
@@AlaskaChromeProductions I totally get it - I would rather not chance an encounter with one of those creatures. Lol

Thank you! That was my Sage TCR 590 (5 weight) with Orvis Battenkill II large arbor reel...one of my favorite setups. Cheers!

Yes and yes!
Heading up to visit family later in the Anchorage area. What creek were you on.
Hello - shoot me an email and I'll point you in the right direction! Cheers!
What creek is this, I live in the anchorage area and am looking for a good rainbow trout fishing near by?
Hello Brayden - shoot me an email at flyfishdan@gmail.com

Hello there! Send me an email at flyfishdan@gmail.com
what fly combo you using
Big crash like that is almost always a dead tree falling, after that the most likely source is a moose, then bear.
Freaked me out for sure!
We've caught rainbows up there with mice (voles) in their bellies.
Why are you reeling for a fish that size and I do live
It’s always a best practice to get the fish on the reel - keeps from getting your line in the way of things. Cheers!
@@FlyFishDan okay that makes since thank you o and it was going to say I live in alaska
