I appreciate RGT's perspective (and he's absolutely right on a lot), but it's also clear he's been out of the space for a while... there's a huge market opportunity here, perhaps not among the 1-cabinet casuals, but among the fans who buy 10, 20, or more machines (i.e., all of the people A1U has left behind). That's why savvy companies like Buy Stuff, John D., New Wave Toys, Blaze, etc. are ALL talking about getting into the home arcade space in a bigger way.
Unfortunately the amount of hardcore collectors isn’t enough to sustain a business. They absolutely need to appeal to the 1 cabinet nostalgia purchases.
@@fourthhorseman04 I mean, it's just math... if ONLY the 40,000-ish people in the online A1U fan groups are the hardcores who buy 10+ cabs, that's still a 400,000-unit opportunity. Considering Pac-Man XL sold 13,000 units and was considered a massive success, I'd say there's certainly a market!

To me it blows. Many of us want a deluxe centipede and a deluxe tempest or tron or dig dug. But that shit ain’t never happening now
Best thing about my Arcade 1up is that I modded it with a Raspberry Pi.

My Capcom Legacy was £350. Great price.
Yup, buy and mod it. You can even change the sticks and buttons to better quality ones.
Arcade1up == same old cabs rehashed over and over and over and over again. I would take a Deluxe centipede with the correct vertical positioning of the monitor so the aspect ratio isn't all funky.
Arcade1up needs to do what Limited Run is doing. Get orders in and see people are interested in a cabinet or project - they could also do a fundraiser or kickstarter on something they are not sure about and then they know what they need to make. Company Saved!

Great chat guys! Arcade 1Up has such potential... I hope another company like New Wave Toys can take the reigns and do something special. Regarding obscure arcade titles, I've always wanted a Moon Patrol cab. I used to play the heck out of that game on the Atari 2600.
Ya re'release Star Wars and Dragons lair make them a little easier to find every dam store in central Illinois has pacman and 2 more variations of street fighter
Wait the AvP 3 player was complete but the stores said no…wtf. The only thing stores take is the same BS, and it doesn’t sell so then they go no thanks.
Well with inflation it will affect what kind of cab that Arcade 1Up will come out with. Everything has double in price the last three or four years. Money don't go far as it did.

It has actually been cool for a while, how many years now have they been taking everyone's money 😂? I will consider A1up Dead when they're actually done, people are still buying what they're putting out 🤷🏾♂️
I beg arcade 1 up for yrs to do Daytona USA it will never happen. Sega don't own the Daytona license anymore but hope still alive Sega classic racing and Daytona USA are the same game but without the awesome Daytona music hell I still settle for that but we didn't get it. I own ridge racer and it suck then on PS1 it sucks now on arcade 1 up I was skeptical about 2 fast 2 furious cab but it grew on me it's my most play cab now
I hate digital.... Theres no value in digital when you trade your xbox ps5 switch in the game store wipe em clean and you get no credit for digital

You were talking briefly about digital vs physical games benefits. The reason I prefer digital games is this. In the event of total loss. Either by natural disasters, theft, fires ect. If I had a physical collection, I would need to rebuy the system, then require each game. If I had a digital collection, all I would need to do is buy the console and redownload the games.
Here is the problem with that Logic - someone else who isn't in a hazardous zone can keep the physical copies safe vs if a Server goes down or in this case a whole library cause the company doesn't want to support the games. You lose all of them and have to buy them again and again. But some of those digital games are now gone off those stores.. Hell No! I want to own my games thanks!
@@dragongamer2670 they stop selling games, you don’t lose access to them lol . They have prevented physical copy ownership from what you’re saying too, now requiring an internet connection to install the games. They can prevent access all the same as the game isn’t being stored entirely on the disk now. Not being in a hazard zone doesn’t stop a house fire. A stove, heater, bad wiring anything can cause that.

@@RubyJones-zj4fu that’s not even logical lol there are account recovery’s just by calling support. I’ve had to do it with Sony . Now 2 factor prevents theft.Reset password options exist. So do forgot my password , and ect . Try again
