I feel so bad for these children but that’s why it’s so important for their parents to watch them and make sure they don’t go too far out because the current can be so strong and it can easily take them under🤦♀️💔
All these kids are way too young to be in the sea on their own in the first place in my opinion! I mean, I get knocked over knee deep in the sea and I’m 18😂
The little girl in the blue suite has me crying she was close to death and the first thing she I said is thank you 🥺😭 she was raised right. Edit Wow I feel famous
A lot of them are like that. Here in the Philippines, I live by the beach and work as a dive master. So many Chinese tourists coming and 90% of the time, they're the one who gets in trouble with swimming or drowning as most of them don't know how to swim. Even if you tell them not to go to certain areas wether in English or in their own language, they will still go there.
MZ - 06GS - Mountain Ash MS (1421) I agree I’m also Chinese and the dad said “I told you not to go there” and the kid said he said he knew but thought he could swim back.
I'm an average swimmer and I'll freak out if you throw me into the calm sea. How these parents allow their kids to go into such high wave waters, I'll never understand
It’s just ignorance and lack of knowledge, for a lot of people a beach trip is a once in 10 years thing. Maybe they are even on vacation from another country and it’s a once in a lifetime vacation and it could be the first time with their kids. Many just think of the beauty of the ocean and don’t even consider it’s danger. Then the ignorance and lack of knowledge gets them into situations where they can be at risk of serious injury or death. It’s unfortunate but just a part of being a human being, we all live and we all learn one way or another whether by research and knowledge of safety protocols before entering the water or by nearly drowning.
7:12 - that emotion shows how seriously all the boys take their job. It's not a reason to take unnecessary risks but these guys don't even worry about their own safety, yes theyre really well trained but still they put everything they have into saving lives. It's a very powerful thing.
To all the people wondering “why everyone is Asian”, it’s because the LOCATION OF AUSTRALIA. Australia is a very common vacation site for people in the surrounding area such as China and Korea (and often Japan). The reason why you see them being rescued is because they are the most common tourist. Being tourist, they are not as aware as native Australians of the dangers of the currents.
that little girl seemed really polite, I don’t know why but I feel like she’ll be smart as she gets older. She 5, in a death situation, drowning, and she said thank you so quickly omg, angel. 🥺
I swear Harrison has the world’s best eyesight Edit: I don’t want to be one of those people who is like ‘OmG thANks fOr alL THe lIkEs’ but wow people actually agree with me 😳😳
It can also be very dangerous to try and save someone, when someone is drowning they are panicking, so they cling and grapple and pull you down, life guards are specifically trained to be Ablr to deal with this.
Being a lifeguard must be difficult. I don’t know how they notice if a child is drowning or just playing around. I’m sure there is many times where it was just a false alarm.
Yeah when i was lil i used to jump up and down to stay aflot (in a pool i would breath go underwater, touch the floor and jump back up) and people would think im drownin lol
Omg. I feel so bad for these kids. There so defenceless against the water. If there wasn’t anyone to same them they would be dead. My favourite Rescue has to be Brad. What about yours
I was recently rescued by an off duty swimming lifeguard during a kayaking trip that went wrong as our boat was broken. I have so much respect for these people and the works they do. Thank you!
That red-headed boy knew full well how close he got to death. Also, when the lifeguard pulled him out of the water by the scruff of the neck, there was something so primal and universal about that, saving the cubs.
Patrick 123 I just got this ping and it’s making me emotionsl because mine is in hospital right now🥺she’s fine and she’s home tomorrow but she’s always been in my house every night when I go to sleep. Sorry it sounds stupid
It’s actually pretty common that ‘normal’ people don’t notice a drowning. Contrary to in a lot of movies, drowning people do not make noise. No yelling for help, no screaming, just going up and under in the water. They do not have time to scream, their mouth fills with water and if not they are trying to suck in air. Most of them won’t even be able to wave hard with their arms or legs, cuz they are to busy trying to breath and stay up. Drowning is silent and with little splashing. You’re not trained, you won’t notice. I work at a big swimming lake. 2 people drowned last year in shallow water, on the busiest of days. No one noticed. Took us 2 and 3 days to even find the bodies.
I only pay attention to my kids, I'm always watching them, if they on the water I'm in the water, or sitting down just watching. And they better not move from where I tell them they can swim, I don't like to repeat myself, I will take my chancleta and thats it... Now if I see a kid alone, I won't let him go on the water if I don't see the mom around....
I nearly drowned when I was younger and the people in the water near me didn’t even noticed but the one at the shore saved me. It’s probably not easy to notice your surrounding if you’re focusing on something else.
Because it happens very quickly. In a matter of seconds someone can go under and drown. And most people are looking back at the beach, the waves or their friends. They aren’t paying attention to strangers in the water.
I was rescued by a life guard when I was 7, at a public pool. My parents were nearby, but these things happen in a split second. I’m in my 30’s now but I think about that lifeguard now and then even though we have lost contact. So grateful to him for acting swiftly. Hats off to all these amazing people saving lives everyday.
Can we just take a moment of silence to appreciate the life guards. They risk their own lives and in some cases, BALLS 😂, and they don’t get the appreciation they deserve. Thank you guys for doing this 🥰😔🙏✊
8:17 gave me a little tear when she says thank you while still struggling to catch her breath and regain strength. Parents need to be looking more closely after their kids. If you become a parent- bear the weight.
That dad/lifeguard who lost his son broke my heart 💔. Think about this: He lost his son to drowning, the thing his whole job prevents. I couldn't imagine how he feels. My parents lost their son (my brother) years ago (not to drowning) and it doesn't matter how your child dies, parents will ALWAYS blame themselves. But to be a life guard and have your son die of drowning? May he find peace.
I'm sure that's why he does this job. So he can prevent another kid from drowning the way his son did. He wouldn't want the parents to feel the same way he did. Much respect for him
Harrison: Mate what are you doing? Kid: I’m swimming Harrison: you can’t swim here Kid: yes I can Me: Mate you nearly just drowned your doing a pretty shit job at swimming.

What I don’t understand is why these parents r letting there little kids swim in dangerous water by themselves
I wouldnt let my child swim in open waters its Too Much one problem boom gone...
This beach is mainly full of tourist. There are better beaches that locals go to.

It’s crazy how people are right next to someone drowning and do nothing
People who are drowning don’t splash around calling for help, so most people don’t realize.
It can be really hard to notice someone in the ocean especially when they’re under and you yourself are only a head above water.
It can also be very dangerous to try and save someone, when someone is drowning they are panicking, so they cling and grapple and pull you down, life guards are specifically trained to be Ablr to deal with this.

@@bedllLerd1 you know its in the video? and obviously many people would comment it, not only your comment.
Its shocking how many kids r nearly drowning and no one notices other than the life guards. How do u not notice a kid in distress right next to u
Forget normal people where the hell are the parents?!
I can only imagine the Rush of being a life guard, one of the most terrifying yet rewarding jobs. Well done.

Respect✌
I True most young children dont realise how much their parents look out for u, when u get older u realise all they want is to protect you
His son didn’t drown he got stuck in the birth canal and had his oxygen cut off and died days later from the damage.
@Pers Unn Yea our family still feels broken but we have done a lot of healing over the years
