It feels leagues above the other maps imo. The smallest of knitpicks is the out of map/sky box for the city underneath looks really low poly/res, but that doesn't effect gameplay at all, so it doesn't really matter. Still probably best map in the game
@@CrayonsYummyYummyi hated it on launch cuz it felt too big to me at first but overtime i got used to it & it feels more fun to play. I’d rank it at a solid B maybe A on a good day
For non treyarch maps, definitely 6 star is top tier. Very good map, shg have been doing great with dlc maps this year. I'm glad, because I wasn't a fan of vanguard maps. Some were way to maze like and didn't flow well at all.
Not atm what u can do is hit qp filter and while u hovering on da mode don't select it press right stick to scroll down and u can see all map in rotation for each specific mode
Grow house has been one of my favorite new maps. I mainly play search and destroy and it feels really balanced and the lighting issues don’t bother me as much as others
Usually when I play a map for the first time it's always a "let me play a couple more to get a feel for it." With this map I instantly loved it. The water sections allow you to get around the map really well if you're having trouble with boots on the ground
@@TacitusKilgore-kh4we see i mostly play tdm and HQ. TDM people surprisingly move around a good bit on the map. HQ it just works well because the map layout, for the most part, forces a lot of cqc gameplay and being aware of your angles. I'd probably hate it in Domination but I haven't put much time into that mode since probably black ops 3 tbh
6 Star is an S tier map for me too - my favorite in the game right now. My second favorite right now is Skidrow. I loved it in the original MW2 and I love it even more now.
@@CrayonsYummyYummy just takes a little getting used too imo, I hated it at first too but absolutely love it now. Especially the fact the map looks amazing!!!
Other than spawns, I would argue MW3's Post Launch Maps are the best Maps since probably 2012... Black Ops 2. That might be a hot take, but i'm 100% serious. MW 2019 and some of Cold War and MWII's Maps were not laid out very well or horribly, with terrible flow, and games like COD WW2 and Bo4 had really overdone and predictable layouts that all felt the same, and generic. MW3 has had the most unique, original, and old school feeling maps in COD for over a decade imo and I personally have to applaud them for that... well done SHG, I finally got the style of maps i'd missed for so long.
@@DeadSpacedOutImo it’s not fair to compare map quality to bo2 since bo2s were paid map packs (along with every cod post bo2 but pre MW19) but i do agree so far the original maps in this game are fun
@@lifeisshørt_420 If you think that's not fair, I raise you another opinion I believe. MW3's Seasonal Maps so far have been better overall than MW 2019's Launch Maps, Cold Wars Launch Maps or MWII's Launch Maps. If MW3 launched with all the DLC Maps it has now, it'd have the best launch lineup of maps in a LONG time. The worst of the Seasonal Maps so far is probably Tanked, and even that map is like a 6 or a 7. I miss the days when CODs worst maps were a 6 or a 7. I don't think a single Launch Map from MW 2019 came close to a 7, and that's saying something... Not many Cold War, MWII, or even Vanguard Maps did either. Though, i'd argue MWII had some decent, unique style maps... surprisingly coming from Infinity Ward of all the dev studios.
completely agree with Rust being in F. i don’t know what it is with mw23’s Rust, but i hate playing it. everyone just runs to the top of the rig and camps like crazy the entire game
@@dethoroc1 I meant in regular rotation, but fair point. I was hoping not to sacrifice any of the other maps I like just to be able to have fun playing Derail.
I used to adore Terminal back in MW2, but it's lost some of that luster in this current iteration. Feels like the increased TTK makes it easier for people to run behind cover and hold chokepoints, which leads to people resorting to heavy-hitting but slow weapons and just sitting around watching for people trying to flank.
Terminal is the biggest fall from grace map in history. The amount of head glitching and spawn sitting in crazy. An entire match goes by without the spawns changing once. People just don't move on this map. Was my 2nd fave in MW2 and one of the worst in this game. On the otherhand, underpass is low-key great in this game now.
bro on God you are right about everything. I remember in the original Terminal, at most there one would be max 1-2 people camping the top escalator area that looks across to Burger Town. The rest of the players would move around have fun. Now its at least 3-4 mfers ADSing with the Mors, 1-2 guys sitting up on top third overlooking the bookstore, and the rest are hanging around the bottom of the catwalk to the plane. ALL GAME. The only way you can even break if you are spawning back security is minimum 2 people going together through book store, one guy watching top third, and the other guy willing to rush through. 9 out of 10 times its not happening. Underpass on the other hand, i did not think i would ever put it above my favourite large maps Afgan or Rundown but IMO its the best playing large map for both offence and defense. Every weapon class on the map is viable depending on your playstyle whereas in the other maps, the map itself dictates what you should use or else you are in for a rough nice. What a comeback for that map.
It’s more of the change in the way the community plays honestly. Map is still great. Everyone just plays like it’s real life and doesn’t move. Underpass and Skidrow were the biggest glow ups easily
Completely agree with you on Rust. I dont understand how so many people always pick Rust over anything in MW3. I wish they gave us a way to have large map playlist as well. We have small map, give us one so we can play slower.
I'm so glad you love 6 Star. Easily my favorite map in the game. The design feels circular. I don't know how to talk about maps in an intelligent way, so lets say this: after my third or so match on it, i just couldn't think of a better map design. Ive only been playing for about a year, but this map just felt so, so fresh. I also like rhe meatgrinder maps. Shipment is just... Fun. Stashhouse baffled me for several matches. I recall chatting with others when it first dropped, wishing them luck and would say, simply: enjoy the chaos! Once I adapted to it, i found it delightful. But 6 Star. I hope they keep that map for the next CoD. Just amazed at how "fluid" it felt.
@@danielcabrera8924it's happening to me too, and I have 5 g internet (better then the average person). Not only that, but sometimes the packet loss issues don't appear. I didn't magically change my Internet provider, so the connection issues can separate from a personal Internet connection.
I must confess, I'm both perplexed and tickled by your recent Call of Duty map tier list where you dared to rank Shipment among the lower echelons. How could this be? Shipment isn't just a map; it's a way of life! I wonder how someone who has navigated the complex corridors of Verdansk could fail to appreciate the untamed beauty of Shipment. Shipment is sheer chaos, a symphonic explosion that forces every player to push their reflexes to the limit. There's no room for boredom or hesitation here, just pure adrenaline rushes. It's like speed dating with grenades! Every second counts, and before you know it, you've racked up more kills than awkward stories shared at a family gathering. But Shipment isn't just a brutal kill factory, oh no! It's the perfect place to try out new weapons and level up your rank without it feeling like drudgery. Each respawn is a new chance to try a different tactic, a new lesson in humility as a freshly spawned opponent runs right into your line of fire. And now you say this icon of rapid fun is subpar? I must chuckle! I cordially invite you to join me for a few rounds on Shipment while we muse over the infinite possibilities this map offers. Perhaps, just perhaps, you will then see the true genius behind this magnificent chaos. With chaotic regards, Mario from Austria (Not Australia ;) )
I think it's interesting how differently a map opinion can change based off the mode you main. For example as a search player, many of the maps that have spawn issues I'm completely unaware of, and in return are held in higher regard for myself
I don't know if i'd go that far per say, but it's definitely a very enjoyable map in current COD and the most surprising thing about it is... it's made by Infinity Ward... the company known for wanting to support, basically- the opposite of fun lol.
i agree with this list from a respawn perspective. i only play snd and most of the og mw2 maps do not play well, meanwhile all the mw22 maps play really well
I think at this point in the game's life, my favourite maps would be 6 Star, Stash House, Meat, Terminal for sure. I feel for the most part, many of the maps are at least good with a couple exceptions. But those immediately come to mind as the ones I'm excited for every time they show up.
Unpopular Opinion: Derail is a fun map... i might even say a good one. I think the reason for me is that I always play super rush heavy, or at the very least, somewhat rush-y and somewhat defensive, but I never play FULL defensive mode, and while a lotta the maps in say... MW 2019 for example, are made for the sole purpose of slow and campy gameplay, in the original MW2, the maps weren't made for that, they were all made for multiple playstyles and have their power positions here and there, to keep things interesting. In saying that, I enjoy Derail, because it's the only map where I actually camp sometimes, because it's a change of pace from ALWAYS playing either small map playlists, or from rushing constantly like I usually do. I like that change of pace. Also, the reason I like Derail more than say... Wasteland, or Estate, is because you can counter the campers and become the camper in Derail, making the central building a big power struggle, but on Estate, the Estate building is the power struggle, and since that's a spawn, it breaks the flow imo, and with Wasteland, you get sniped across the map no matter HOW careful you are... there IS NO "getting to the power position" so I actually find Derail to be a good change of pace, from fast paced gameplay to more campy gameplay, but without feeling hopeless to get the primary power position back from the enemies like in Estate or Wasteland. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
Overall, pretty accurate list to how I feel. I love sub base, though. That's definitely up there with scrapyard as my 2 favourites. The MW3 maps on a whole, though, are very good, I'm impressed with sledgehammer, they've nailed small and medium maps.
I’d move a few rankings, but overall I find we’re in agreement on most of this list. I think it helps that I’m an objective player that primarily plays domination and hardpoint. Although, I play mostly hardcore and iirc I think you don’t really care for hardcore, or at least don’t play it very often. Only big disagreements I have is I think Wastleand might be the biggest glow up as far as remade maps go, and I think Terminal is a strong B-tier because the flow and head glitching just kills it for me at times. Also, I despise Growhouse with a burning passion. I didn’t think it was possible, but they made me yearn for the border map on MW2022.
@@JarrydTIme i vote for rtust when it is against emergency and das house because i think the spawns are so much better and to take care of the camper on the tower just have rgl as you secondary they will stop going there soon after they die to a noob tube to the face several times
I main SND so I agree with most of these. Mercado isn’t bad. I’d rather play there than any small map. Small maps just get too one sided where you’re either straight rushing or just playing a one life version of TDM. Really like it when teams are out in a position to create great planting/defusing plays.
I've come to really like the small maps, love the constant action and engagement. They've made some great ones in MW3. That's how I prefer to play with friends these days. I also grew up with the OG MW2 and was surprised they chose to remake ALL the maps. Even back in the day people weren't crazy for most MW2 maps. A few S tier gems but most of them sucked. They do play much better in 8v8 or 10v10 IMO. 6v6 they are way too slow and boring. Even with more players though just the layouts weren't that great. I still hope we see Vanguard's Patrol mode brought back. I still say that was one of the most unique, fun modes COD created in the last few years. Really wish it came back. I think it would play great on these maps.
Also Emergency... Wow, what a great map, I get goosebumps with how great that map flow is in every gamemode, probably the best original map with 6 star
Even though, i'm not a big fan of Meat, or even Rust (at least with how many people camp on top of Rust these days), I gotta say, I really do love Emergency. Something about the flow, the size and even the atmosphere of the map is just sooo good... It truly feels like a Bo2 Map in my mind, and the little stupid crawlway from bathrooms is such a unique design choice that COD often doesn't do anymore. I really like the unique-ness of the map and the fact that, after many years of either bad maps (a la MW 2019) or boring and safe maps (a la COD WW2, or Bo4, despite enjoying those games personally) I feel like SHG has really brought back, not only the really good layouts that maps used to have in og COD, but also the unique random, bullshit power position spots maps might have. I kinda like the weird layout spot, or the power position a map might have, from time to time, I think it helps mix things up and keep the maps feeling unique, personally.
@@awepossum1059I don’t get the hate for Emergency. I genuinely love it, to me the setting reminds me of an Infinite Warfare map where you’re on another planet & the sky is like the planets atmosphere but visuals aside, the map plays well & it’s faced pace so no issues for me
They need to bring dome and shoot house to small maps playlist and since i play a lot of hardcore i notice no matter what the other map is people will avoid emergency like the plague
Emergency on hardcore is an instant dodge for me, just has way too many lines of sight (think it's not great on core either). Would love to see it replaced on small maps by Dome and Shoot house, as someone who prefers small maps I rarely get to play them.
@@sammmB9 the headglitches on emergency are absolutely wild, that map is way too compact and linear to have so many powerful headglitches scattered throughout
The way you feel about growhouse is the way I feel about the updated shoothouse. I really liked the old shoothouse but the new one has visual clutter imo and I don’t like the reskin.
Growhouse is S tier for me. The map lends itself to an aggressive rushing play style and has tons of flank points for weeding out campers. Love the way it flows especially for domination.
I don't agree, 6v6 plays exactly like it should and even better with the much faster movement than MW2 2009. Derailed is still slow and people still camp, but the others are as fun as always or more. People are just kind of ruined because of all the small maps, people don't enjoy normal maps anymore
Nah, just play HQ or Hardpoint and you'll get more than enough action with a perfect mix between tactical gameplay and braindead rushing. MW2 maps are still by far the best maps COD ever released imo.
Here's my (biased) tier list of all the current CDL maps and modes. For competitive specifically. S - Rio HP A - Rio SND, 6-Star HP, Vista HP B - 6-Star SND C - Invasion CTL D - Karachi Everything, Sub Base HP F - Highrise CTL, Highrise SND, Invasion SND For the record, Terminal HP+SND and Invasion HP were in the depths of F-tier. Skidrow was C-tier. It's comedic how much better this game would be if it launced full of new maps.
I would appreciate it if they took out the small maps in regular rotation there’s literally a small maps playlist. Would be nice to have shipment come up once in a while not every game and I’m calling out all the small maps
For me, the new maps in mw3 are some of the best in recent years. Stash house I tolerate. Otherwise, I actively try to play the new maps any chance I get. The old mw2 maps and these new maps pair really well together from both playstyle and variety
I agree some maps i dont want to play in some game modes but whould like to play them in another game mode. Whould be awesome to just filter the game mode u want and the maps u want
Your list is pretty similar to how I'd have it. S tier mwIII maps for me are 6 star, scrapyard, Rio, Vista, meat, Das haus. Highrise can be, as long as it's not a sniper lobby.
That's the point, back then COD 4 and MW2 maps tried to make people play different ways and change their play style sometimes. Wasteland is extremely fun if you don't try to play if it was Shipment or something, but people are even more rotted than 10 years ago
@@RipVanWinkle-zm7vs not everyone is like that. I actually rather enjoy Derail for being different, unlike most people. I also really loved Departures when that came out, despite a larger size and long range sniping positions and I gotta say... I think Wasteland f*ckin' sucks. I hate that map every time it comes up in rotation, and I hated that map when I played it back in MW2. Now, I played MW2 a couple years after, when MW3 (the 2011 one) was the newest game in the series, and that was before the tiktok brainrot shipment 24/7 phase, way before that, and I always hated playing on Wasteland; it was simply never fun to me.
@@RipVanWinkle-zm7vsnah it's not that if you try to play it like shipment it's bad, it's that trying to play it any way other than sitting in the back with a sniper or camping in the middle is almost pointless and you'll just immediately get one shot killed every fight unless you either snipe or camp in the middle, calling people brain rotted for not wanting to camp snipe all game is silly, almost similar to calling someone a rat camper casual for not finding it fun to run around shipment with a shotgun or smg, both maps are on opposite ends of the extremes and neither are fun, there are even good sniper maps that are fun to play too, like afghan for example is a good sniping map that isn't remarkably annoying to play anything else on
The reason why OG MW2 maps used to play and flow really well is because back then most people actually moved around the map. Simultaneously, the reason why some of those maps are borderline unplayable in the current game is because hardly anyone moves. Highrise is the perfect example of that.
Am I witnessing AI communicating with AI here? Lol wat do u mean the game is unplayable bcuz no one moves? I see campers and all, but there's no shortage of players running and bunny hopping around and drop shooting. Not to mention old school CoD was always plagued by campers and claymores everywhere u tried to run... Ur literally not talking about reality... If that's been ur experience I think ur just unlucky bro, the game has always been fun despite new and old problems. It was fun back then, it's still fun today, and next one is gonna b wild too. Idk wat u did to piss off the CoD God but it must have been bad... Ur probably not a good person... Lol
Kind of off topic but i felt like vanguards shipment was “one” of the best versions of shipment I’ve played…SOMEHOW spawns were controllable 😂 depending on the mode of course
d00d! Chill! It's a *fantastic* map, probably the best ever in MW3. It works in dom, tdm, hardpoint, and KC just fine. The only issue is very limited long-lanes for snipers. Maybe you were getting crushed on it too often? In that case, I suggest you use Ninja and the Push Dagger, running shoes, and run around like a madman knifing everybody.
@@cheponisthe spawns remind me of Mw19 shipment. It's just mindless chaos for chaos's sake, so everyone can get a free kill. I'm not a fan of meat grinder maps to begin with, but this is one of the worst offenders for me. I really like 6 star and its probably my favorite in mw3boot. Emergency is as small as a map should get imo. Even the older shipments had their moments but this new era man.... everyone's just doped up on amphetamines doing like 300 movement inputs a second, chaining bunny hopping and slide cancels and drop shotting together. I hate that sht so much. It all started with warzone. People weren't really like that before
@@toughluck8012 I hear ya, man. If you've not done it in a while, fire up MW II and see that it's about 2x slower than MW III, at least, feels much slower. They amped the speed in MW III to make it, IMHO, more like BO4 - more arcade-y. I don't like having to spend 1/2 my life searching for an enemy then get sniped by some camper. On the small maps, camping is pretty much impossible, and I like that. Still, I do like Stashhouse. It's most fun on Dom, and OK on KC. GL.
Could we at least agree its at least better than the "spawn, get flashed, die, repeat" simulator known as Shipment? I did a lot of my camo grinding on Shipment so i get it, but lets be honest, if you play that map longer than an hour you feel like your brain is turning into compost. i genuinely dont understand how people play that map for FUN. At least with Stashhouse you feel like you can take a breather in between spawns.
@@toughluck8012Odd, I've actually found StashHouse to be less chaotic than something like Shipment or Meat, it's a small map yet it feels segmented in pieces, it's really darn weird (in a good way.)
Oh I love doing map tier lists. S: A: High Rise, Scrapyard, Skidrow, Sub Base, Departures, Stash House, 6-Star, Breenburgh Hotel, B: Karachi, Quarry, Underpass, Meat, Vista, Emergency, Tanked, Dome, Mercado, C: Rust, Greece, Rio, Growhouse, Crown Raceway, Farm 18, Shipment, D: Terminal, Das Haus, Shoot House, F: Afghan, Invasion, Derail, Delete from the game: Wasteland, Estate, Favela, Rundown. Nothing S tier for me - we’ll see how the rest of the year goes. However - if we add the Vortex maps too as variants, I’ve only played Sporeyard and Airborne. Sporeyard is a solid D tier for me. Airborne would be an A or S tier for me.
@@weirdeurasianboy8091 It plays mostly the same - except that in Airborne the exterior of the map is covered in a heavy fog/mist which obscures the visibility in that area of the map, making it a safer transitional zone. That helps to feed the action back into the terminal itself since you’d be at such a disadvantage picking a gunfight through that low visibility. It’s not much, but it’s enough to funnel people back into the hallways and other main areas ever so slightly. In normal Terminal, people will hide in/around the plane or on top of the main outside building, but since the fog is thick out there and the light diffuses off of it, they can’t acquire targets as easily so they’re more likely to move inside where they can be more easily contested. They also made the monitors of the cash registers inside the burger town head glitch super bright which discourages camping there too. They’re very subtle changes but they get players out of those areas which changes the flow a little bit.
@@Infinicat Oh I see. Yeah, as someone who beelines for the flags, HQ or Hardpoint I don't pay much attention to the maps all things considered. But now I get what you mean.
Highrise may be S tier for 6v6 dom but the spawns are SO busted in Hardpoint and anything in 10v10. Same with Terminal. Medium sized map but it plays super small due to the spawns. It’s just chokepoints
I only strongly disagree with 2 decisions here - Terminal and Stash House should both be much lower. Despite being an OG classic, Terminal just plays like hot garbage in my experience; food court lane is almost impossible to push from security, and the central lane is brutally overexposed to the outside areas of the map. The jet bridge lane isn't too bad coming from security, but it's a huge chokepoint coming the other way. As such, it feels like every match I play is 2-3 players from the waiting room/gate team camping the escalators and locking down the food court lane, with 1-2 more hanging out outside or in the plane picking off anyone who pushes through center. As soon as that's setup, the security team is just forced to hunker down in their own spawn and watch the jet bridge. Any players that do try to move around the map just get fried as soon as they try to step out of their designated zones. Stash House just has too many stupid cubbies and hidey holes for my liking on a chaotic small map; the storage closet in center, the bathtub, jumping up on various appliances and furniture tucked into corners around the map. I'd honestly rather play shipment. This is all coming from a HC player though; maybe both maps flow better in core.
Damn I wish they would put some OG MW and more MWII maps in the game: Hovec Sawmill, Azhir Cave, Hackney Yard, Rammaza, Khandor Hideout, Hardhat, Talsik Backlot, Cheshire Park, Petrov Oil rig, Al Bagra Fortress, Embassy, Himmelmat Expo, Punta Mar, Koro Village, La Casa, Zarqwa Hydroelectric, Taraq, El Asilo, and DRC-Zone 1
@@weirdeurasianboy8091 Yes, it is -- the 1st part of the 1st WAR map. I'd like it if it were in rotation for 6/6 and 10/10, it was a solidly excellent map.

Id drop Invasion to F tier personally. Ive never had a match on that map that played good. If you spawn on the gas station/Garage side you’re at a complete disadvantage
Way more generous than me. Karachi F (loved it in mw2, the majority of the time), Emergency F, Stash House F, Mercado F, Invasion F(actually really liked the map in MW2 _IF_ it wasn't OMA tube spammed), Tanked F(only played it for Dom though), Quarry F( liked it in MW2 C/B), Favela D, :'( Sub Base D, Meat C, Vista C, Das Haus D, Breenberg D, Terminal A, Highrise A(best rendition in a LONG time though, some games feel like the MW2 which is lit and carries my ranking tbh, but some are just ??), Departures B (maybe I've just been lucky thus far, but it plays really good **shrugs**), Estate C(only map that plays really similar to the OG consistently, at least that I've found thus far. Which is for both the good and bad matches), Haven't played Dome or Crown Raceway yet, though I've only played Dom so... maybe they aren't in that playlist? Also, Farm 18, Skidrow, and Shoot House? They really surprised me, much better in this game in my experience. Afghan is teetering C for me which is sad, not as sad as whatever the hell happened to Favela. I'm pretty fresh to the game (well, I went hard in that amount of time. But, I got it hours before the big sale on it ended. After watching your video saying it's the best new school shit thus far. That day I happened to see it on sale, I said "fuck me... let's run it". I'd agree with your sentiment. I mean, I grinded past lvl 100 in 2-3 days just playing dom. Haven't tried GW yet, or S&D so... hopefully it gets better once I actually have all the shit I want unlocked. I'm a tester by nature, so it's been wild. The grind to unlock haha. Why it has the Haymaker and that swap speed is unbeknownst to me. Clutched it hard on Highrise the first time I used it. From deficit, held B until the game's end as the RecJug for the dub smh. I felt disgusting, cause I legit didn't know the filth I was about to engage in when I used it haha.
and Ace said about the Invasion map how it's easy to spawn trap in Dom I had many a games where either us or them where we were spawn trap in the A flag
And the restaurant in the Hardpoint and the Headquarters mode the restaurant can be *too easily* lock down. But para doxically also *too easily* contested
Surprised you said that Terminal was so high. Yeah in domination it's fine, but the rest of the gamemodes the long sight lines along with minimal flanking routes for some sections on the map make it real easy for teams to hunker down with a massive uphill battle for people retaliating.
One thing that has always made me feel weird about the raceway map was that cars still drove around the map, like, hello? You're practicing for F1 while there's an AC130 Raining hell onto the place???
I don't understand how MEAT can be an A tier bit Rust and F tier. What is this? Meat has much less freedom and ways to counter play enemies, you most of the time get stuck trying to push or chnage routes while Rust gives you Freedom everywhere and even has vertical play, gives you much more chances of getting multiple kills in a single life if you know how to move and other people move. I feel people are scared of even thinking to do something else than press L2 & R2
Rust has an absolutely disgusting spawn trap that literally wins you the game because the other team can't even spawn. You literally will be spawning in someone's sights and they can kill you INSTANTLY the moment you spawn for the entire game with no way to flip the spawns. The mere existence of that makes Rust F tier until they fix it.
@@tktxlegend4540 I think scaping fron Spawn traps in Rust is much easier than maps like Das House or Meat where you can barely move around, rarely I get the situation you said on Rust and even if I am the victim I have never felt like I was unable to do something about it, unlike Meat and Das House which are more claustrophobic.
rust is terrible for anything thats not a 1v1, spawns suck, you get shot from literally everywhere, it has no flow or something like that since its just a rectangle (a bad one at that too) edit: meant square not rectangle, its late plus not my first language
@@bhxld A rectangle? Bro, Rust are you talking about Meat and Das House? Rust is clearly an square playground to go everywhere you want on the middle and sides. I don't know what else to tell you that is a fact and I already told, Rust has much more freedom if you move around the map changing routes than the maps I said will ever have. Those maps are literally 3 lanes with barely space to move, just go straight, slide, kill and repeat, I don't understand at all this takes
@@TacitusKilgore-kh4we made an edit, yea my mistake for that more freedom to move? the guy at the top already explained it enough, i cant move at all since the moment i spawn i get shot from 3 different kids sitting in the middle tower, also i thought people wanted 3 lane maps and not open maps, everyone complained that maps were too open in mw19 Das Haus is chaotic yes, he said the exact problems in the video too, but its STILL better than rust imo and meat tbh is really good, you can fight your way through the middle without nearly any spots for rats to sit at, the 2 lanes on the side can be good enough for flanking as they are
Opinions can wildly differ I guess. Estate, Rundown, Underpass, Derail are all S-Tier maps for me, as a HQ and Hardpoint player at least. I'd also put every single one of those small maps on F- and D-Tier (and Wasteland).
my biggest disagreement is probably highrise. can get real campy and snipers can really take over sometimes, which frustrates me alot. on my list it’s closer to a C or D.
But as ace said, it's probably nostalgia -- and it's his list! ;-) I like it..... when I want to knock off some sniper calling cards.... It's one of the few that has clear longshot lanes.
My big beef with Emergency is the prevalence of head glitches. It's a fun map if everyone plays it "fairly," but it's very easy for a semi-coordinated team to just lock the entire map down and limit your ability to challenge angles without recourse to very specific answers (e.g., smoke grenades). Interesting that you rate Underpass so poorly. In OG, that was definitely a D tier map, but it plays *much* better in this game. With its winding lanes and few power positions, flanking is easy and rewarding and the spawns are usually great. I would rate a lot of these maps much higher if gunfights past 20m didn't feel so coin flippy (esp looking at maps like Rundown, Quarry, Sub Base, Highrise, etc). Back in the original MW2, it felt great spotting someone on a power position and killing them before they even knew what hit them. If you try that in this game, you may as well just paint a big target on your back because you're just giving your position away and giving the enemy time to reposition and kill you. That really breaks the flow on many of these maps.
Can you make a video of a domination loadout? I’m always playing team deathmatch but I’d like to start playing objective game modes, mostly domination, and I’d like to see what perks/equipment is best to use
8:30 omg, Hard disagree on Growhouse it makes me a little annoyed. Its one of the only maps that is not straight sunlight and has colors everywhere and doesn't look bland. Growhouse actually has a personality and uniqueness in this game the visibility problem is not even that bad... I really get annoyed with takes like this where "if everything is not bright and has rainbows, its a bad map" because that takes away so much personality of the game for the sake of visibility for some, MW2 2009 had much darker maps and people didn't mind and even took advantage of it hiding with ghillie suits on dark areas. Another example of people not being able anymore to enjoy the game if they have to use a little more effort moving around maps
> Another example of people not being able anymore to enjoy the game if they have to use a little more effort moving around maps This implication that small map playlists/smaller map designs have made COD players too impatient or that bigger maps used to be better received back in the day is completely false. Maps like Derail and Estate were just as despised in 2009. They may have been slightly more tolerable back then because the full autos were often strong enough to compete with snipers, whereas that is definitely NOT the case anymore. The phenomenon of smaller/more restricted map design goes all the way back to Black Ops 1, and it's a much more complicated discussion than "big maps bad." I agree that there is a bias toward too much pastel/bright colors, but that's a minor flaw for me (I do miss some dark maps like Bog or Wetworks from COD4, they were fun occasional shakeups).
@@asdfghjkl2261 I was talking about people needing perpetual colorful 2000% visibility maps to be comfortable with a COD map nowadays and when its not like that they blame the game before themselves. I understand COD should not be 100% dark and stuff but the thing with MW3 is just getting tiresome
I honestly think a lot of the completely new maps SHG has made are actually really good and I look forward to them, but some of the old MW2 maps simply have too many sightlines and verticality that make them flow bad, especially with these bad spawns. Absoutely agree with rust - it plays so bad and you have to constantly watch your back
Major connection issues relating to packet loss have been happening in the last few weeks. Teleporting everywhere. My guess is they are testing how shitty they can make the servers to save money before people notice. Ive noticed.
My favorite maps came from MW2022. Farm 18 and Brenberg Hotel are bangers. I still like Derail and the like to play marksman rifles or snipers to switch out me always playing with ARs and SMGs. I hope we get Piccadilly from MW2019 again. I liked the map after the B flag was moved away from the fountain 😂
Honestly the only one I too strongly disagree on is Vista, I actually really like it and would put it alongside Rio (Even though for me I'd just move both up a single tier). They feel a lot like some maps in Cold War and one thing I ever now and again have a want to go back to Cold War for is it's maps (and most of it as tbh Cold War is still one of my favorite CoDs) because while a couple of them I really don't like, the rest I either find really fun or generally fairly enjoyable.
I like how 6 Star has that Advanced Warfare map aesthetic, probably one of the best looking maps in the game imo
Too overwhelming in my opinion
It feels leagues above the other maps imo. The smallest of knitpicks is the out of map/sky box for the city underneath looks really low poly/res, but that doesn't effect gameplay at all, so it doesn't really matter. Still probably best map in the game

For non treyarch maps, definitely 6 star is top tier. Very good map, shg have been doing great with dlc maps this year. I'm glad, because I wasn't a fan of vanguard maps. Some were way to maze like and didn't flow well at all.

I am really surprised by how good the post launch maps for this game actually are, minus some of the spawns.
Agreed!
@@DeadSpacedOutImo it’s not fair to compare map quality to bo2 since bo2s were paid map packs (along with every cod post bo2 but pre MW19)

I really think Derail would be a good map if they brought back a 8v8/10v10 option. I don't need to keep getting more small chaotic maps.
It’s still too big for 10v10. It’s been in that playlist before.
Ya know what? Smash Wasteland, Rundown and Derailed together and make it a Resurgence map

Derail is in 10v10
I also think terminal is an overrated map since OG MW2
Bro I was just playing Terminal..and everybody was camping. Nobody would make a move.
It’s more of the change in the way the community plays honestly. Map is still great. Everyone just plays like it’s real life and doesn’t move.

Dear @TheXclusiveAce
With chaotic regards,
Mario from Austria (Not Australia ;) )

i agree with this list from a respawn perspective. i only play snd and most of the og mw2 maps do not play well, meanwhile all the mw22 maps play really well
I love 2019 and i wish more of those maps would come over
I think at this point in the game's life, my favourite maps would be 6 Star, Stash House, Meat, Terminal for sure.
Almost a perfect bell curve, as tier lists should be. The stats guy at it again ;)
Ace - you need to do a separate version of this that is specifically for “maps for sniper challenge/grinding”
Fun big this season, just noticed it today - apparently if u select a mag attachment it won't work and u will be stuck using the base mag
My weird take is the Greece is a solid A tier. That map is awesome. It has nice lanes, solid spawns, and is the perfect size.

Growhouse is S tier for me. The map lends itself to an aggressive rushing play style and has tons of flank points for weeding out campers. Love the way it flows especially for domination.
The thing with a lot of the OG MW2 maps is that it is better suited for 8V8/10v10s
I don't agree, 6v6 plays exactly like it should and even better with the much faster movement than MW2 2009. Derailed is still slow and people still camp, but the others are as fun as always or more. Nah, just play HQ or Hardpoint and you'll get more than enough action with a perfect mix between tactical gameplay and braindead rushing. MW2 maps are still by far the best maps COD ever released imo.

The reason why OG MW2 maps used to play and flow really well is because back then most people actually moved around the map.
Simultaneously, the reason why some of those maps are borderline unplayable in the current game is because hardly anyone moves.

S:
A: High Rise, Scrapyard, Skidrow, Sub Base, Departures, Stash House, 6-Star, Breenburgh Hotel,
B: Karachi, Quarry, Underpass, Meat, Vista, Emergency, Tanked, Dome, Mercado,
C: Rust, Greece, Rio, Growhouse, Crown Raceway, Farm 18, Shipment,
D: Terminal, Das Haus, Shoot House,
F: Afghan, Invasion, Derail,
Delete from the game: Wasteland, Estate, Favela, Rundown.
Nothing S tier for me - we’ll see how the rest of the year goes.
However - if we add the Vortex maps too as variants, I’ve only played Sporeyard and Airborne. Sporeyard is a solid D tier for me. Airborne would be an A or S tier for me.
Terminal goes from D to A because of a reskin?
Sure the aesthetic is unique but it'll still play the same lmao
I knew I was a fan. But your Rust take was music to my ears. That map is dusty hide and seek with trash spawns.
6 Star is such a great map makes me wish none of the 2009 maps exist and we just could play the original maps of this game
Highrise may be S tier for 6v6 dom but the spawns are SO busted in Hardpoint and anything in 10v10. Same with Terminal. Medium sized map but it plays super small due to the spawns. It’s just chokepoints
This is a perfect opportunity to get your fans to vote- I say that because your picks are not what I think the majority of people would pick.
Generally I agree with your list, but I like Rust, Shipment and GrowlHouse
Damn I wish they would put some OG MW and more MWII maps in the game: Hovec Sawmill, Azhir Cave, Hackney Yard, Rammaza, Khandor Hideout, Hardhat, Talsik Backlot, Cheshire Park, Petrov Oil rig, Al Bagra Fortress, Embassy, Himmelmat Expo, Punta Mar, Koro Village, La Casa, Zarqwa Hydroelectric, Taraq, El Asilo, and DRC-Zone 1
Not to mention: Remasters of some of the OG MW3 maps: Seatown, Arkaden, Bakaara, Bootleg, Carbon, Lockdown, Village, Fallen, Underground, Mission
Khandor is in the game
In War mode
@@weirdeurasianboy8091 Yes, it is -- the 1st part of the 1st WAR map. I'd like it if it were in rotation for 6/6 and 10/10, it was a solidly excellent map.
@@cheponis Agreed. Khandor was definitely a great map. It worked for all modes.
I know Azhir and Grazna Raid weren't fan favorites but they flowed well in Headquarters, Cyber Attack and Hardpoint. In other games, not so much
I wasn't a big MWII fan, but I definitely miss Embassy. I loved that map.
Imo skirow is my fav map in mw3. What type of map do u think mw3 is missing?
Grow house is a melee players paradise
Vista is EASILY S Tier for me. Love that map after taking a hiatus through S2
i remember when everyone used to glaze the old maps and said they’re the best when they are just mid
I love how many different maps there are on this game!!
Hate how most of them are just remakes, yes even daus haus and growhouse are remakes.
Id drop Invasion to F tier personally. Ive never had a match on that map that played good.
If you spawn on the gas station/Garage side you’re at a complete disadvantage
I generally agree with all of them but I think skidrow, sub base, and Greece should be rated higher
It would have been great seeing pictures of the maps even if we all know these, just a little critic.
Still that's for the tierlist.
Way more generous than me.
Karachi F (loved it in mw2, the majority of the time),
Emergency F,
Stash House F,
Mercado F,
Invasion F(actually really liked the map in MW2 _IF_ it wasn't OMA tube spammed),
Tanked F(only played it for Dom though),
Quarry F( liked it in MW2 C/B),
Favela D, :'(
Sub Base D,
Meat C,
Vista C,
Das Haus D,
Breenberg D,
Terminal A,
Highrise A(best rendition in a LONG time though, some games feel like the MW2 which is lit and carries my ranking tbh, but some are just ??),
Departures B (maybe I've just been lucky thus far, but it plays really good **shrugs**),
Estate C(only map that plays really similar to the OG consistently, at least that I've found thus far. Which is for both the good and bad matches),
Haven't played Dome or Crown Raceway yet, though I've only played Dom so... maybe they aren't in that playlist? I still have haven't unlocked any killstreaks lol. Running UAV, CUAV, and Recon Jug via score. RecJug on Dom has been making the win to unlock so much easier.
Terminal is horrible, D tier. You must not play against teams that use snipers to lock everything down.
In the Hardpoint, the KorTac is immediately at a disadvantage cos the SpecGru spawns closer to HP number 1 (the bookstore)
and Ace said about the Invasion map how it's easy to spawn trap in Dom
I had many a games where either us or them where we were spawn trap in the A flag
And the restaurant in the Hardpoint and the Headquarters mode the restaurant can be *too easily* lock down. But para doxically also *too easily* contested
Rust and Shipment, Shoothouse, Stashhouse, Afghan, Skidrow, = S Tier for sure.
Shipment is sss tier 😂 love the chaos
Terminal over Rio is actually criminal.
I liked Das Haus so much more in Vanguard than here! The destructibility.
@@tktxlegend4540 I think scaping fron Spawn traps in Rust is much easier than maps like Das House or Meat where you can barely move around, rarely I get the situation you said on Rust and even if I am the victim I have never felt like I was unable to do something about it, unlike Meat and Das House which are more claustrophobic.
rust is terrible for anything thats not a 1v1, spawns suck, you get shot from literally everywhere, it has no flow or something like that since its just a rectangle (a bad one at that too)
edit: meant square not rectangle, its late plus not my first language
@@bhxld A rectangle? Bro, Rust are you talking about Meat and Das House? Rust is clearly an square playground to go everywhere you want on the middle and sides. I don't know what else to tell you that is a fact and I already told, Rust has much more freedom if you move around the map changing routes than the maps I said will ever have.
Those maps are literally 3 lanes with barely space to move, just go straight, slide, kill and repeat, I don't understand at all this takes
@@TacitusKilgore-kh4we made an edit, yea my mistake for that
more freedom to move? the guy at the top already explained it enough, i cant move at all since the moment i spawn i get shot from 3 different kids sitting in the middle tower, also i thought people wanted 3 lane maps and not open maps, everyone complained that maps were too open in mw19
Das Haus is chaotic yes, he said the exact problems in the video too, but its STILL better than rust imo
and meat tbh is really good, you can fight your way through the middle without nearly any spots for rats to sit at, the 2 lanes on the side can be good enough for flanking as they are
Opinions can wildly differ I guess. Estate, Rundown, Underpass, Derail are all S-Tier maps for me, as a HQ and Hardpoint player at least. I'd also put every single one of those small maps on F- and D-Tier (and Wasteland).
Am I the only one that loves Estate? My favourite in the original game and again in this one
Ace loves Dome confirmed
my biggest disagreement is probably highrise. can get real campy and snipers can really take over sometimes, which frustrates me alot. on my list it’s closer to a C or D.
I agree. Almost every time I play it, it just turns into a snipe off
But as ace said, it's probably nostalgia -- and it's his list! ;-) I like it..... when I want to knock off some sniper calling cards....
I’d bump Afghan up one but agree with 90% of the rest ESPECIALLY Shipment and Rust.
You got a nice distribution with your ratings
Another example of people not being able anymore to enjoy the game if they have to use a little more effort moving around maps
nah it plays so bad for me, im just getting camped by people on that hop up on the left lane and going downstairs is just hell
@@georgeelgar5986I don’t think Growhouse is bad, it doesn’t flow bad for me & campers are annoying but aren’t in large numbers as you’d expect
> Another example of people not being able anymore to enjoy the game if they have to use a little more effort moving around maps
This implication that small map playlists/smaller map designs have made COD players too impatient or that bigger maps used to be better received back in the day is completely false. Maps like Derail and Estate were just as despised in 2009. They may have been slightly more tolerable back then because the full autos were often strong enough to compete with snipers, whereas that is definitely NOT the case anymore. The phenomenon of smaller/more restricted map design goes all the way back to Black Ops 1, and it's a much more complicated discussion than "big maps bad."
I agree that there is a bias toward too much pastel/bright colors, but that's a minor flaw for me (I do miss some dark maps like Bog or Wetworks from COD4, they were fun occasional shakeups).
@@TacitusKilgore-kh4we ye the current map design seems less like a striving for visual clarity and more like a lack of creativity
I haven’t played some of these maps in months!
I honestly think a lot of the completely new maps SHG has made are actually really good and I look forward to them, but some of the old MW2 maps simply have too many sightlines and verticality that make them flow bad, especially with these bad spawns. Absoutely agree with rust - it plays so bad and you have to constantly watch your back
Meat, Terminal, Rio, Shoot House, Farm 18, Emergency, & 6 Star are the best
As a hardcore s&d player I don't think our opinions of maps could ever be anything close together.
Solid list!
Major connection issues relating to packet loss have been happening in the last few weeks. Teleporting everywhere. My guess is they are testing how shitty they can make the servers to save money before people notice. Ive noticed.
Love these fun videos.
