My sister used to have a taped recording (from the radio) of this concert in its entirety and hasn't yet managed to find this part on TH-cam anywhere. It's all part of it so why not. I'd love to have been old enough to go to a really old concert. I've only been to two Elton concerts - one with Billy Joel (I get the feeling Billy was a bit stand-offish about Elton and it was all a bit of a piano competition for him) and one just in the last tour. But if I had to live with only one musician's / band's music for the rest of my life it'd be hands-down Elton and Bernie - even if it was just the first (say) 10 albums. That'd be BRILL. I could totally live with that.
Saw him at the GRAND opening at the TAJ MAHAL in Atlanitic City, NJ. USA. Coctail Tables served drinks. Had tickets for all 3 nights of the sold out shows. Went to them all...The thrird show I gave the tickets to a couple on the board walk. Because the show wasnt changed up aT ALL from the previous shows... Still unforgettabal.. The couple was overjoyed in disbelief when I gave them the tickets... (" ")

fam how is elton john not more popular than mj and many other artists. man is a godly songwriter with bernie. his melodies are damn genius. man deserved more. he carved a whole decade for us and coloured the 70s and 80s with is bright colours. he deserves much more. not one song of his has a billion views though it deserves it. he has donated more than 500 milion dollars to charity and has helped many ppl who suffer from aids and other diseases. he is the reason why aids is declining in countries like africa, ukraine and other 3rd world countries. he himself has handed out meals to sick people with his own hands. he is not a celebrity. he is the perfect definition of a human being. he treats others equally. he hardly looks down on people. he embraced people who were never embraced before. im sure that if elton john was dead today due to an unfortunate cause, he would be a million times more popular. man is hated for living long. it is sad. he saved me from dying of boredom. his music keeps me alive. i am only 15 but im so lucky to have him alive today and healthy. people just dont appreciate this legend enough. i have recently finished listening to all albums from songs from the west coast to wonderful crazy night and these albums are better than anything ive heard from elton john in the 80s and 90s. its a shame that his newer songs are neglected by the radio which prefers his older songs. it was worth listening and still is.

Its amazing that he could perform so well. He said that during this period he was having substance abuse problems and "felt no pleasure" and even had a few minor rows withe berine taupin. Yet he was still able to get up there and perform! Edit: I think he went psychotic too (possibly due to drug use) and claimed one time he phoned his manager and asked him to stop it being so windy.
Love this. He was doped up hard. But he also had to have throat surgery in the middle of this tour and canceled the rest. He has always just endured so that his fans could come first. Enigma, I say.

No, he couldn't have. The surgery was a must.
The surgery didnt ruin his voice, it did what it was meant to, it was just the pot smoking before that ruined it
He was advised by doctors not to go on tour, but he did anyways. If he had, the vocal change probably would not have been as noticeable.
