When James started on the 100 foot tall mother I started laughing uncontrollably. Had I been in my room this wouldn't have been a problem. But I was on the 11th kilometer of a run and ended up in a ditch.
I clicked on the episode and it says episode 1: with literally no explanation until 10 minutes in. But for real, great first episode, guys. You’ve got some really solid chemistry. You should really consider doing this full time.
You covered the Discworld issues quite effectively, but the main problem is we've been waiting for this series for about ten years, Terry was behind it directly at first, as was his daughter, and then the BBC wrested control and changed everything. There are fundamental character changes, setting changes, and more, that seem counter to the entire point of the series. Though it started out as poking fun at fantasy tropes, it developed into so much more than that over 30 years and 41 novels, and this feels like it's completely overlooking that. One of those "we have the rights to one of the most carefully crafted and cleverly presented series by one of the most beloved authors in modern history, often lauded as a genius, but we know better than that hack and are going to do our own thing instead. Stomp stomp stomp."

So I discovered the weekly planet in 2023 with the secret invasion review and actually thought this was episode 1! Turns out I'm YEARS behind and I can't wait to catch up
I still stand by my belief that Gendry should have been the one who became king. He’s the last person who has a legitimate tie to the throne with his father being Robert Baratheon and also since Jon was exiled.

Aight, so I recently went back to reread the Dexter books after the revival announcement. In the third book (out of seven or eight, I believe), it's revealed that the 'dark passenger' is the offspring of a literal ancient death god named moloch, and also there are a bunch of other dark passengers, running along doing baby moloch things. It was super fucking dumb, very poorly received, and is literally never mentioned or even alluded to for the rest of the series. Jeff Lindsay retconnect that shit hard. If i recall, he went on later to say that whole plot was introduced at his publisher's behest, and he wasn't a fan of the idea either.

Having seen merlin that "van driving past at the end" line with them not having seen it made me laugh hysterically in the middle of this hallway full of people.
1:12:50 Not only did 99% of the final season take place over a weekend, the final episode takes place over years. They stretched no plot or character development over 20+ episodes and then threw ALL the plot and character development into one sitting. It was a complete clusterfuck.

I too took time to realize he was talking about Snoke, Mostly because I heard it as Snow Cup Date, and immediately went down a "Is Snow Cup a movie coming out soon? Did they settle on a release date?" path.
If I remember correctly, in both Ashes to ashes and Life on Mars both characters had to solve something related to their pasts, that had happened in that time period? So the "getting closure in limbo" works a bit
Mason, did you mention Legal Eagle in this episode? Or was that another episode, I was binging at work and now I can't find where I thought I heard this, but I love so many of the obscure channels you mention, like Dorkly, Legal Eagle, Everything Simon Whistler does and I wonder if you've every watched Mandalore Gaming or SsethTzeentach (Same guy), Some More News, or Low Brow Studios? I think you'd enjoy them if you don't already watch them.
Honestly if this is the quality of show being put out just for the first episode, I for one look forward to future first episodes from them. - me, a person on the internet.
Re: GoT changes from early to later seasons just being it sped things up and character motivations getting iffy. That 's kinda the point. Ned was a dummy and pretty much engineered his own death, but that was all in his character from day 1. How many awesome moments and small facets of character were revealed in the long interminable marches that the main characters go on? The last two plus seasons were all just moving the actors around the stage to hit their marks and not in service of the narrative (different than the plot) and characters. Tyrion and Varys go from some of the more sensible and pragmatic folks (with obvious blind spots to keep them human) into exposition fonts and plot device.

I love that, because of how hated the How I Met Your Mother ending was, they released an alternate ending on the DVD that everyone prefers.
That ending made the whole show kind of pointless.

The Sopranos pilot was filmed in 1997, before Analyze This. David Chase became aware of the film because The Sopranos was originally supposed to be a film, and was subsequently turned into a TV series.
But yeah, that ending is fantastic.
If I'm being totally honest i didn't even notice the 01 until it was mentioned because I just start playing the newest episode when i start working.
Follow-up episode suggestion:
TV shows that absolutely stick the landing with a good/great/satisfying ending.
AND/OR:
TV shows that didn't get a finale that deserved one (good shows that ended/got canceled unfairly).
AND/OR:
Shows that ended without a finale only to get a finale in a different show.
Examples: Batman Beyond getting follow up episodes in Justice League Unlimited. The Flash 1990 getting a finale in The Flash 2014 crossover event.

Technically you can clone force sensitive people because in the LEGO Star Wars yoda chronicles they create a force sensitive clone named jek 14. Jek 14 later shows up in the LEGO freemaker adventures which directly influenced things in canon such as Hera syndulas outfit in squadrons and the characters from the show were made officially canon by the Star Wars droidography where jek is also mentioned by name.

The last ever episode of the TV remake of The Fugitive with Tim Daly ended with a fired bullet in the air travelling towards our hero's face. Cut to black. Series wrap.
It's a shame. It was a cool series. They shot every episode in a new city. I was in the episode shot in Memphis.
Daniel Craig has done a lot of work in theatre. A coke-wash is a common theatre technique for keeping raked (slanted) stage floors from being too slippery. Coke mixed with water is put on the stage floor with a mop.

They could defs do a captain america thors hammer moment with tobeys spiderman, he's a hold out the whole movie and then you get a 'hey kid' moment in the last battle as he swings in to the raimi score. Itd be dope af.
If they do a Spider-Verse, it has to be the whole movie, I agree. They have to make the main cast all three Spider-Man actors. It reminds me of how fun, but sort of disappointing, it was to have Tom Welling be powerless Clark for 40 seconds.

I think it was Sky UK that made (distrubution liscenced?) The Colour of Magic and The Hogfather. Also Maso's definition of "fairly recent" might be a bit skewed. They were quite good from memory though. David Jason was a great casting choice for Rincewind.
Can confirm coca-cola can be used as a cleaning agent. Used to work in the oil field. If oil-based drilling fluid (Aka mud) stained your clothes bad, you could use a can of coke along with soap to get a lot of the stains/smell out.

I am a HUGE Discworld fan. The trailer is fine. Vimes seems decently close to the Vimes in my head when I read Guards Guards. I honestly don't care if the show isn't true to the books because we still have the books.

I read a different article about the Coca-Cola and it seemed to suggest Daniel Craig came up with the stunt idea but the stunt director used the coke to make it work.
merlin is one of my favorite series ever and the ending DESTROYED me but it wasnt bad, just sad. its been 7 years since i watched the ending and wont see it again and i cant remember what do they mean by the van at the end... i guess theres a van passing by when old merlin is looking into the lake but honestly why is it a problem? merlin literally is living in 2012, waiting for Arthur's return. there are cars in 2012 🤨
I can’t help but feel like the Spider-Men news is something that wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for the positive reaction to DC bringing Keaton back as Batman... I can’t imagine Marvel/Sony being keen to bring back Maguire (who’s not exactly a spry young guy anymore) and Garfield (who didn’t have the best run) if DC didn’t get praised for announcing they’re the same thing with multiple Batmen.

They didn't retcon the ending of Monkey 2. If you watch the full credits Elaine strongly hints that the whole Amusement Park/child thing is a curse, not reality.

The Lost creators did have a plan from season 4 onwards apparently but. Also Losts ending is great, the emotional character arcs were the most important part of the show and thats something people obsessed with the bigger picture missed. The theme of the show is "letting go" and some people ironically cant do that for the ending lmao
