Fun fact the original snake eyes toy had a manufacturing defect causing the black plastic to turn blue when exposed to oxygen leading to the working title of snake eyes to be blue harvest the same as the original star wars
I'm so excited to hear their thoughts on _Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins_ next week! Such a shame they didn't have time this episode, but it'll definitely make it in next time. There is _no way_ they'd let me down again. I'm barely holding on as it is.
I make sure to rewatch the movie every week because I know the boys definitely do as well

This is the best review of "GI Joe snake eyes: GI Joe origins of snake eyes" i have ever heard. I can't wait until they review it again next week.

I had no idea the 1998 Nicholas Cage film Snake Eyes was a G.I. Joe prequel
Funny thing is I keep forgetting they say they are going to review it and I actually really want to hear them talk about it but never realize that they keep dodging it lmao
I hope they never get to it, and we just have to keep watching it ever week to be prepared for it when they do.
Me seeing the time stamps: "Wow they're going to talk about Across the spiderverse for ten minutes? They have a lot to say about it."

I dont, I wasted time watching the film for once so Id be ready when they did this podcast only for them to just ditch it, which mightve been understandable if there was an actual film coming out but there isnt this is just one of their filler shit weeks.

The "regional food name" thing makes me think of when I was watching a show ("Sweet-Tooth Salaryman Kantaro"), the main character was excited by being able to eat real pancakes (made in a pan), and not "trendy" hotcakes (made on a griddle/flat top), and it made me realize that my family and most people I know just call them pancakes anyway, I've never heard them called hotcakes or seen anyone make a deal about how they're cooked.
The weirdest part is when people call them flapjacks as if there isn't something already called a Flapjack
"Take me to the god damn sky" is an excellent turn of phrase.
Going through a lot right now and laying down in bed listening to this weeks episode may have been the only peace my mind has had in a bit. Just wanted to say thanks for the best podcast out there 🤝

I've always loved the Matrix Reloaded, not as good as the first one but it's a lot of fun with some crazy action scenes
As a narrative, the sequels are pretty terrible - but as a collection of scenes, they're awesome

In grad school, my buddy told me about another student who fell for an insanely inane scam, where the culprits claimed to be the IRS via phone (which is common), but then claimed she needed to pay back-taxes, in the form of various Apple Products, via a dead drop location.....She did it!! She may have been at school for music or something. Anyway, it's so dumb that we might as well assume that's how Dracula got his iPad.
I remember having fun when I saw WW84 in the cinema but I watched it at home about 8 months later and I was like: "THIS IS BADDDDD!!"

Morbius is definitely going to be a movie where the Game is On. In fact, on a future episode you guys should try to predict which upcoming comic book movies are going to be ones where the Game is On.
Morbius movie is 100% going to be trashfire. It's a January movie that's going to be burried faster than Jefrey Ep. did.

Glad to hear you guys promoting the Leeds Royal Armouries, its a sickass museum packed to the rafters with weaponry and armour from history. Jonathon Ferguson's videos on Gamespot (and the Armouries' own channel) are great for film and video game enthusiasts.
I actually emailed Jonathon to ask about flintlock muskets (I'm running a TTRPG with 18thC firearms) and he was super keen to discuss it with me, such a chill bloke.

Excuuuuuuse me boiz but Moulin Rouge is incredible. You have to be in the mood to watch an over-the-top musical though.. But holy shit what a movie, just for Heath Ledger's performance alone!!
Every time I hear the intro music I think “I could listen to more of this. But then by the time it’s done I think “nah that’s the correct amount of song”.
I tried to watch Moulin Rouge twice, but both times I was incredibly tired and only made it through like 30 minutes before falling asleep. I'm sure it's great, lots of people talk about how great it is, but now whenever I think about watching it, I just feel really sleepy.
I've seen Batman and Robin more times than I should have just through it being on tv over the years and watching it in theaters. The biggest issues isn't that it's wacky, but because it's dull. I tried watching it again a few years ago ready to laugh and I was just bored most of the time. If you want a silly Barman then watch The Brave and the Bold.
Didn't realise quite how much Tom Holland sounds like the impersonation of him, until I heard him on the Percy Pig Marks and Spencers advert.

I like renfield! I was always fascinated by his descent to madness in the book and I am always bummed out by dracula adaptations that cut him or don't make him interesting
Meanwhile, Igor got his own movie (two In fact, if you count the Daniel Radcliffe version being the primary protagonist of _Victor Frankenstein),_ and he's not even in the original text

I want to see _Old Man Zorro_ with Banderas... Then a sequel where he gets to hand it down to the third Zorro. Insane that it's not happening.
I can't think of any films that i disliked as a kid and liked now (mainly as most of the films i watched as a kid, Jaw, Aliens, Robocop, have all remained great to me) but i can say Ghost in the Shell really baffled me when i first watched it in my teens and always remembered not liking it, but re-watching it in the 2010's it's such a GREAT film and aged so well. I'm sure James will agree.
The TV series "Stand Alone Complex" from ~5-10 years ago is also really really good. It's smaller stories that focus on some philosophical element of the technology in the world for an episode, and also fills in a bit more backstory about the primary cast. Highly rate. The newer SAC series (the 3D one) isn't great tho.

About American Beauty, I think what might've happened is that society is different than when that movie came out. A lot of American Beauty is about finding the cracks and dysfunction in 2000's (upper) middle class suburban American. The problem now is that that doesn't really exist anymore, like in real life. The middle class has been disappearing so audiences nowadays don't care about a lot of the problems a lot of the characters are going through in that film. Midlife crisis, loveless marriage, teenage ennui, they just don't resonate with today's audiences who are more worried about their next paycheck, or getting sick, if Facebook is spying on us, the future of our planet, etc.
Also, there's that weird subplot about Kevin Spacey falling for that teenage girl, so... yeah.

Unfortunately The Last Jedi is the complete opposite for me. Walking out of the theater, it felt good and enjoyable, and I couldn't wait to talk about it with everyone I knew who was into star wars. But once the initial buzz wore off, and the more I thought about it, the more issues I noticed. Every time I've rewatched it since, I realize yet another thing that makes no sense.
I might not like it but I can still watch it and enjoy as a Star Wars fan (unlike many) but I remember walking out of the theatre and telling my brother that it felt like a fanfic

I watched about 20 seconds of the new Matrix trailer, thought it was a fan made trailer and switched it off. 'Look how well we copied ourselves!' is not a great selling point for a movie.
