I can’t find the comment of the person complaining about me working in real time in this video and not editing it. I get it, some people want this tutorial in 1hr, and to speed through things. Some videos I do edit, and some I don’t. But understand that I hardly get paid from TH-cam, and this video is over 5 hours. Do you know how long that would take to go through and edit out anything repetitive? I’d have to rewatch the whole thing and edit so over 5hrs. I’m sure some people would be upset that I sped up a tutorial because they might want to see exactly what I’m doing and my decision making. Lately I’ve been trying to reserve my longer projects to Skillshare or Udemy due to this. I appreciate those appreciate the time and effort to not only create, but it record it, upload it, make thumbnails etc. perhaps I should start doing live videos again, I’d never get through a project like this in one sitting, maybe 4 or 5 days (people ask questions and I easily get distracted chatting and engaging on live stream. Anyway, for anyone that wants to complain that I’m not going fast enough in the video, you can adjust speed settings in TH-cam on the video window 👍🏾
He did post with malicious intent, don’t sweat it man. Thank you for this video, I watched the whole thing and enjoyed most of it and I call that a success. Live videos would be great! It’s a shame I can’t afford Skillshare at the moment, your videos there are dope and I can recommend them to everyone.
DUDE!! Amazing Tutorial! This was my first ever go at 3D modeling and you made it so easy to follow along and learn this program. You showed me that its possible for me to do this. I cant thank you enough
Wow!!! What a great character - you made his reborn - he's looks awesome, I like to see your anatomy improve so much - sculpt looks great, perfect toy!!!
Holy crap... I haven't watched this yet, but as a comic artist just about to teach himself nomad sculpt... a 5.5hr full process chibi venom sculpt. Count me in. I'll be posting my progress as part of launching my own youtube channel, I'll let you know how I get on. Amazing resources... yes... even though I havent watched it yet :D (but I have watched a few of your small tutorials today, so I have faith ;)
Dave, your voice is so relaxing! This is the second time I've fallen asleep watching one of your videos 😂 - no reflection on the excellent content, just the smooth tone of your voice! 😅
I’m only an hour in so maybe you figured it out, but the problem with the hands is too much extension at the wrists and proximal finger joints. There’s no menace in extension. It defeats the threat of grasping. Amazing work. Really instructive to see you using composition of parts. Inspiring stuff
Just starting (at least) this tutorial. Man.. if I managed to success it... you will give me the key for a very old project I have in my mind so...Let's do it!!!
Great tutorial! One question, your primatives are smoother and the edges are just ever so slightly rounded making them a bit softer. Mine are ridged and banded. Do I have some default setting turned down?
Thank you Dave for sharing the whole process and follow with comments. Is there a place where we can ask you questions? Could you share your opinion where the models created in Nomad can be used besides 3D printing please?
If I'm not mistaken validate turns a basic shape into a shape that can be sculpted. You do this when you need to turn your basic shape into a more complex shape. Remesh rebuilds the structure so the polygons are less messy. (Turn on wire mesh to see what it does) You do this when your polygons get a bit messy. The size of it depends on you but less polygons means less detail but more memory and easier movement. Higher means more detail but less memory and harder movement. I kind of think if it as making your clay denser
Amazing! Also have you ever try changing the tip of the pencil? The apple white one tend to deteriorate but I recently came across metal one on amazon, I use a paper feel screen protect and it doesn't scratch the surface they are wayyy more durable and precise.. I used my Ipad a lot and it's a game changer :)
@@drugfreedave lol I was just as hesitant, but the reviews were right it really did make a difference for me Anyways thanks for your tutorials, keep them coming :)
the level of organization and management of the remesh/subdivide/calculate is just overwhelming sometimes after I watch these I just want to use real clay and not have to strain to control so many settings, let a high-powered scanner do the work at the end
I would Agree, but it's fun in nomad ultimately... I get the same gratification from drawing and 2D art, which is what helped me really take to nomad. I'm sure the process for creating an actual clay sculpt exactly like this would be quite difficult and time consuming for even a skilled sculptor, but that’s where the beauty of all these different mediums comes in! I’ve always dreamed of doing 3D so anytime I create something cool, I’m in very proud of the achievements 👍🏾💯
Thank you for uploading the full tutorial💙💚👍👍, that's really incredible 😍💖. Can you please, make video & tutorial like this, for anime character from anime called Saint Seiya for a character called Dragon Shiryu in his armor and dragon behind him from the OVA called the hades chapters. I will be really grateful, & really appreciate it 😊
Fantastic. Could you make a tutorial for a helmet like this "MT streetfigther SV" using reference images of the front, back, side and top? It would be a great help for me. I customize helmets and I'm starting to use Nomad and Procreate to create my projects. Thank you very much. "A13Adesign"
Probably not for others that are following along though right? I mean it’s art so there is the technical side of what one doing, but the real magic is why I’m doing it and the nuance. Lots of people ask me to show how I’ve created a thing which included why it looks “appealing” let’s say. This is why I don’t always speed through. Some people are interested in my choices, and honestly I think that’s just as important in learning the craft. Also, you can go to the gear on the video and set the playback to any speed you’d prefer in TH-cam 👍🏾
@@drugfreedave Yes I got the part that you’re making art and choices but for example most of the teeth were exactly the same thing. Clone the mirrored sphere-position it-crease-flatten. I’m talking about parts that are either very repetitive or you doing something and undoing it many times. Just giving feedback so you can improve your tutorials. You did edit out the first try of the jaw so it’s not like it’s all there anyway. I really like your stuff and have watched everything on Skillshare too so I’m not trying to be an asshole.
I'll check again in a few days, but it seems like TH-cam doesn't allow me to auto-translate videos that are "too long". It's a bit vague in Googles help post about it, but I think this may be the case. I think from now on i'll have to break longer videos into two
Venom was outside my time but never cared for the character, seemed like a shameless cash-grab effort...suggesting that the venom inside a spider somehow made it this ridiculous monster with ludicrous teeth and ripped muscles and tongue???...just never made any sense to me as a logic-thinker especially since the guy that invented it was a mid-level artist but very tricky to sculpt clearly

In theory you could retopologize it and animate it I suppose, but I don’t know how to do retopology!
Amazing❤❤❤
Amazing. I have a question. When do you Ramesh and when do you validate and what are those two for ?

3 - 2 - 1…. Go!!!
Great job but for me too much engineering and too few sculpting but final effect is most important. I prefer clay ;-)
That’s exactly how I feel about blender! 😁
