    I mean, that's the workflow allright. But people, if you just begun sculpting, expect your first few dozen characters to be nowhere even near this. You have to have solid anatomical knowledge, know your software, generally experienced in sculpting all kinds of shapes, and just develop the raw knowledge base needed for it.
    There are no shortcuts in the end. But this video certainly clears up some workflow related questions, and thanks for that :)

      Point two about this is having a powerful enough machine to even reach this amount of detail.
      Of course you can make due with less dense meshes, but the more detail you can control, the better.

    Watching the beginning of the tutorial I was just thinking where are the thieves from OpenAI gutting our models and sculpts (god forbid that ever happens) and you put up this poster of Arnold the Predator vs. the Deal hand to hand combat and banter with AI hands and laugh.
    Great tutorial. It was a lot of fun for me to watch.
    and there is meaning in your words.
    But I don't spare time and effort to do the "annoying" and boring things that raise nothing at work. I even love them. All this basic shape geometry is a very fun level to work on. For Bao's geometry inspiration: the first Playstation and PC games, especially Resident Evil and Sin 😁😉😛

    Really good video, if i may give a bit of feedback for the initial part of the video and the sections where its you in front of the camera. First off, the music is a bit too loud, it feels very overwhelming to have your voice, the echo from the room and the music all at once. Second, a slight zoom in on the shots really helps to make it more easily watchable. you just have a zoom in and then you reset after a cut. Also it would be beneficial if you move the camera a bit more way from your face, that way the viewer can see your hands and that makes more easy to relate and understand the body language you are using
    hope that helps ^^

    • @AndySZofficial

  • @SlimeTlme
    @SlimeTlme 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Wow! Amazing work! The beginning you blocked out the shapes in color then when you were in the program they were in 3d from your drawing, what is the called? Does blender offer that? Seems amazing for getting shapes

    • @AndySZofficial
      @AndySZofficial  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m glad you liked it. When I did the blockout on the drawing I broke the character down in to those smaller pieces so I would know what the 3D parts would look like. Since they are all separate 3D shapes the software colored them in different colors. You should be able to do that in Blender. Most 3D softwares have that option 💪✨

  • @Longdriveinacar
    @Longdriveinacar ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Nice video Andy! appreciate the breakdown of your process, I think its good to chunk stuff out and do proper planning to try to reduce the amount you end up going "back" steps. Only thing Id say is the music is a lil too loud lol. Also, what application are you using for sculpting? I am new to 3d and have just been using blender but if I could use something on my Ipad (looks like you are at least) thatd be great since I already am on procreate a bunch.

      I am using an app called Nomad Sculpt on my iPad. It’s such an intuitive experience using it and it’s a one time purchase, which is amazing. I’m not a fan of subscription based software. We live in a cool time where we can make 3D sculpts on tablets✨

    One thing i struggle with is when to go higher resolution and also when to remesh or start building subdiv levels. I also use nomad and blender. For example, in the refinement stage. What were you using?

    • @AndySZofficial
      @AndySZofficial  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It is tricky knowing when to go higher resolution. It took me a while to get the hang of it too. I am using Nomad for the whole process in this video. I'll talk about resolution, and how I approach it in my next video. The beauty of sub div levels is that you can go back and fourth in resolution if you don't bake them in, but a good rule to follow is, "do as much as you can in the lower resolution and add sub div when you need details that won't show up at current level." This was a good question, hope my answer helps.💪✨
