My wife sews beautiful face masks at home and sells them in a local boutique and at the hair salon where she works. Small businesses really do make the world more interesting. I do small engine repair and am starting a lawncare business in the spring of 2021. No website, just putting in my 2 cents (pence?).
@@WeirontheMove Amazing. I just googled Zuchetta because really, although it looked like a squash I would have gone more with the "baby triffid" definition!!
Hi we run a Bookkeeping Business called The Bookkeeping Department (Google the name for website) and it does not matter where you are as we work paperless with all our clients. Actually a great business to run from a canal boat!!
Don't quote me on this but I think it's a variety of Squash ! grown by different orders of Nuns ? some Orders specialized in Cucumber's whilst others preferred the Traditional Carrot patch , this was favoured by some for the taste a versatility ? Basic preparation peel cut up small , " how to cook " place into a pot of water bring to the boil reduce heat and simmer until until tender , I do hope in some way you find the information helpful . LOL
Everytime I see that firewood on your roof, I wonder why it isn't cut to length. Have you considered a cordless electric chainsaw with canola oil instead of petrol based guide bar oil? Non-toxic to the canal fish/wildlife and an efficient way to harvest/cut wood. The next most efficient way to harvest/cut wood for you guys might be a cordless electric reciprocating saw. With a very coarse blade a good saw can really cut firewood quickly, and not sawchain to sharpen and no bar oil to mess with. Lastly maybe just a folding pruning saw or small bow saw might be you answer. Best wishes from NW Ohio, US. I have really grown fond of you guys and wish I could live my life in a similar manner.
Glad you've found a decent spot to moor up for lockdown. You mention running the engine for power as you are moored by trees, I guess you wouldn't be getting a great deal of solar with the current weather anyway?
We miss you guys 😆. We’re thinking of heading back to the Thames this week and ploughing through to K&A. I’m so confused about stoppages there and how far we can get to. Any advise for us would be great as always. Where’s the furthest we can get to and is there disabled friendly mooring. 😁🙏🏻😁
We miss you too. The K and A has stoppages from the Wooton Rivers lock, all the way to Little Bedwyn, so that's about a 10 mile stretch. You can gets far as Froxfield, just outside Hungerford. The locks are closed until March. As for moorings, you can moor at the Cunning Man in Reading, Hungerford wharf and Kintbury and Froxfield. These locations are ideal for disabled access. However, be aware that all of the boats situated in the stretch of closures have been given the prime mooring sites in the locations we mentioned until the stoppages end. Also, the same rules apply as the Thames if it goes into flood, because from Kintbury to Reading it is river-fed. County lock and Fobney lock close when the river goes into flood, so again, that might restrict you. Take a drive to the areas we mentioned and see what you think re mooring and if it's too busy. Good luck and you two stay safe.
Haha when you said your taking your pins out just after “She who must be obeyed “said she married an antique, I thought you meant she had a voodoo doll on you 😉
Thanks for another great vlog, the 'thing' looks like a dog toy but if it is a vegetable I wouldn't want to eat it not even in a curry, lol. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Thanks for the vlog. So where are you moored right now. I guess you’ve moved on from Hungerford, as you’ve got several more videos to show us prior to lockdown.

It will, Kevin
This vegetable reminds me of a variety of Italian zucchini, Julie can use it as revenge for being treated as an antique, lol
You are almost spot on, Jean-Louis. They are called Zuchetta
great idea to help support the local dealers, instead of the big boys.

Julie went to have a chat with them. She's fluent in cow. Don't tell her I said that
@@WeirontheMove Sometimes you go to far! 🤔
Glad you've found a decent spot to moor up for lockdown.

Virtually zero solar where we are, but on balance, it is a nice spot with easy access to the town and boat services.

What is known as “summer squash“ gone rogue in the US!! Hey showed up in England isn’t that rogue enough??😀😅💝👋🏽
Spot on. Some call it a Zuchetta
Are they from Ann Summers they sure look like it 🤣😂🤣
What's an Ann Summers?
@@WeirontheMove google can explain
Greetings , what are the two black barrels for on either side of your bow doors? Ttfn
They hold water to feed the plants
11:55 steers. Cows are female for milking, steers are male for meat.
Those are Red Angus and Black Angus BTW. Very popular for American beef production, and often prone to charging and kicking. Quite an ornery breed.
They were friendly enough
