Believe me and stay in Bristol and bath for the winter. Beautiful canal and great cities. Go on you could just chill for the winter. Also you will have to get through the Cainhill locks in Devizes your going to be so tired after that lot.
You make even simple decisions, just plain fun and also silly. We enjoy watching your journeys. Tell George insanity is inherited by association. just kidding.
I’m afraid on a video that far back if Jo didn’t credit it in the description of the video we don’t have a record we can readily access to tell you, as that project’s been archived on a disk somewhere for some time. Sorry. M
Really great film always enjoy them but I have to say your story of your first experience of surfing really tickled me, I now have an image of Michael standing on top of the boat doing the Severn Bore to the theme tune of Hawaii Five O , go for it Michael, at least you won't end up clinging to the underneath of the boat, your arms are not long enough!
More beautiful canal footage....love it! Also love the views of the quaint towns....really a gorgeous area. Congrats on completing the solar. Godspeed on the trip to Bristol and back!
A winter in Bath sounds perfect. 👍 I know you were joking about the ‘bore’ but if you do not have the reserve of power to go faster than the bore then you will loose steerage and then broach - that is not a great prospect (for survival of man, woman and machine), but it would make for an exciting video.😀
+Norman Boyes Hah! The reality is we've got the power to safely navigate the Severn, and were it not for dog and wife I'd happily do it... but I'm happier with a dog and a wife than I am with a shortcut to the Oxford! M
Be fun watching you surf the bore in a canal boat...Don't think that's ever been done, lol Least you would get yourself's in the Guinness World Records :-) Nice Vlog guys :-)
Were at Kintbury now just caught a cray fish that appears to be fighting back. Hungerford is great Tesco, and a great bakery with huge flapjacks. Hope the physio works.
There's a lot more to the Severn than the bore! It's not a stretch of water for the unwary. The tide runs for the majority of the time down river and you have a very short window of opportunity to get up to Sharpness. The bore (as in the wave) does not start until well above Sharpness, where you do not want to ever be in Minimal List... The overfalls at the severn bridges "The shoots" is enough to give a grown man nightmares... You have loads of time to get back to the Thames. I've canoed from Pangbourne to Bristol 4 times in 5 days. I'm not sure what's taking you so long :-) Look forward to the next episode.
+randoneur Yeah I think we won't trifle with it, I just like to needle Jo. And yeah, I've noticed all the canoes racing past and pushing us about in their wakes! The cheek! M
Wouldn't another option be to get boat lifted out at Bristol and moved on a truck to Sharpness? Just an idea. My boat is still not ready but hopefully October now ie 4 months late. Grrr.
+adrianuwant3 Not that deep, about 8 inches. Really just -- yet another -- extremely soggy shoe! I've suggested the anchor, but she's not got the faith in it yet! M
Have you ever heard of anyone feeding their water with some sort of rain barrel? I mean, I wouldn’t want boat-roof water, but ... some sort of rain catch...
+John Walsh Coming soon as part of the follow up on the electrical upgrade and solar. We're working on it, but have only just gotten the solar install completed, so it's been delayed a wee bit. M
Hi there. Query: how did you get a delivery? Was your item delivered to one of those collection point thingies? Also - saw a "Perseverance" in Worcester last week, but it wasn't yours, even though it looked exactly the same. Is your "Perseverance" one of a series?
+Julie Phelps it was something we ordered from Maplins so they just delivered to the store in Newbury which was really helpful. Didn't realise there was another Perseverance out there, as far as we know our boat, which is a Liverpool boat, was named by the first owner after a steam dredger!
I really must know: Was that a woman with a blue baby carriage coming down to the water's edge? Did she dump Little Johnny in? I just know she'd had enough of his shenanigans.
+Lee Bruner We have seen many bring their little ones down, but not yet once drop one in. Shall keep an eye out, as shenanigans are definitely an issue! M
£10 for water! I've been stealing water from non official sources (taps) for the last four years. I'll be dammed if I'm going to pay for drinking water, it's kind of essential for life.
Well, to be fair, it was £10 for water, waste, and Elsan at a private marina, so I don't really fault them, though it was too steep and we didn't have ether waste or Elsan, which I still feel these places should factor in. M
Minimal List OK, so that included pumping your sewage out, here in the Carib most islands charge $1 US per gallon for drinking water from fuel docks, but there is always a government tap somewhere for the locals.
Beautiful countryside. Take care.
+Carl Thor its bloomin' gorgeous!

+Paul Harley We shall see when we get there, they do sound like lovely cities, but we have a certain tempo to maintain! M
LOVE THE VIDEOS AND HAPPY TO SEE YOUR BOAT DIDN'T SINK
+Kevin Roberts thanks! We were pretty happy about that too!
You make even simple decisions, just plain fun and also silly. We enjoy watching your journeys. Tell George insanity is inherited by association. just kidding.

+Luann Crownover Thank you! Yes it's quite beautiful here, lush and green and very, very wet! M

Great vid guys I think thats the right choice with the Serven at this time of year. I only have 3 days to go until the boat survey.
+Peter Rutter Good luck with it! And ask lots of questions! M
Good luck with your plans
+Garry Stacey Thanks! M
Be fun watching you surf the bore in a canal boat...Don't think that's ever been done, lol Least you would get yourself's in the Guinness World Records :-) Nice Vlog guys :-)
+Russ B I've been trying to get in there for years, might have to do something desperate! M
Were at Kintbury now just caught a cray fish that appears to be fighting back. Hungerford is great Tesco, and a great bakery with huge flapjacks. Hope the physio works.
+Vivienne Brooks nice! We couldn't get on the mooring at Kintbury🙁. Are you following us?😉
Got up to Pewsey but had to turn around to go back im due an op on Oct 3 rd bleh! But next year were off! So back at Newbury now
A 12 ft tidal bore is your plan B. "Oh goody" I says shaking my Aussie head
+Stephen Hunter That's why we always try to make Plan A work first! M

Looks like a nice area and good to see some scenes away from the canal. Never a bore (see what I did there?)
+WorldofRandometry I did see what you did there! Yes it's quite a lovely area, though I really need to get even further from the canals next time! M
Ooh nice cobwebs. Ok surf it, nah not realy , crank it to Bristol and back but have fun.
+darran newman haha, yeah, we really must clean the boat! Jo
Hi great vlog, is it possible you could do a vlog on different types of mooring knots and safe methods to Moor your boat ?
+Mark White Hmm, we shall certainly put that on the list. I think we need to be a bit more confident in it first ourselves! M
"It's basically a title-wave" best quote ever
+Michael Erman Thanks! M

+Andy B That's way more expensive than surfing it! And half as much Fun! M
oops how deep was it when you jumped on to the reeds? you can use your anchor on the seven if your engine lets you down, and Tewkesbury is great.
+adrianuwant3 Not that deep, about 8 inches. Really just -- yet another -- extremely soggy shoe! I've suggested the anchor, but she's not got the faith in it yet! M

We have spoken to people who want to do it but have never actually seen it in action!
When are you going to do a Vlog on your new batteries, After all the research you did, it would be nice to know if the money was well spend?
+John Walsh Coming soon as part of the follow up on the electrical upgrade and solar. We're working on it, but have only just gotten the solar install completed, so it's been delayed a wee bit. M
I know those guys from Wyldwood. They moor same place as me
+Its a Narrowboat Life it's a small canal world!

I should've taken a photo of your doppelganger... but thanks for that - a useful way to do it if you need something fast.
' Bob and Brad' on Physicaltherapyvideo give great self help advice for treating Sciatica on youtube , well worth a look . Hope this helps
+John Stanton Thank you I'll take a look! M

Minimal List Whoops! I thought I was joking, but, I maybe I wasn't?? th-cam.com/video/RFlhSoMDNuQ/w-d-xo.html
